I hired DaSilva Painting to paint our house and we are very happy with the result and the entire process. Maria and Marco, the coo-owners are very easy to work with and very accommodating, and their pricing is very competitive with the other 7 quotes that I received, plus they offered a 5 years labor warranty. We were told the entire process will take about 2 weeks to complete and they took exactly 2 weeks to finish. They had mostly 2 workers onsite and sometime 3. I must say their workers, Juan and Jessie were the primary painters, and they are very professional and easy to work with. During the process, they damaged my security alarm sign by accident and Marco quickly offered to replace it, and this to me is responsibility. I highly recommend DaSilva Painting company for all your painting needs.

DaSilva painted the exterior of our Edwardian home. Overall I would absolutely recommend them. Dealing with contractors can definitely suck, but DaSilva was great to work with. We got a few quotes - another highly reviewed company on Yelp came in 30-40% higher than DaSilva and a third came in a little under. Maybe because we did it early in the season, but their books were open and we were to schedule it when it was best for us. Working with them was very easy. Maria is super responsive and made coordinating and working through issues a breeze. Overall, we added a few extras to our project which they were able to do without problem - we stripped down one wall completely down to bare wood, made some wood rot repairs, added gold leaf accents, added a texture additive to our front steps, and they also polished some brass used by our windows. After the work was done, there were a couple spots that had the paint bubble up. They came back, sanded it down, and repainted. A couple spots were stubborn and they came back several times for our front door. Eventually they reached out to the paint manufacturer who recommended stripping the door completely down and repainting it. While it took longer than expected and was a bit of a hassle, DaSilva came back, did the extra work of completely stripping it down, and left us with a great result. Many other companies would have left us high and dry. They did a great job overall and I would highly recommend them!

I hired Marcos and his team to resurface, paint, and do some minor renovation work when I purchased a home. They were stellarly efficient, affordable, got everything done on time (Despite this being quite a large project), and the house looks incredible afterwards. There were a few places I nicked after moving in the house and they touched those up no questions asked. The walls also had a terrible texture prior to them being here. They completely resurfaced the plaster walls into a beautiful finish! The project was complex because it involved removal of some fixtures in the house, replacement of light fixtures and light switches, painting different surfaces different colors, painting many windows, removing carpet from stairs and repainting & restaining the stairs, not painting some surfaces, all across probably 9 different rooms. They did it all just as I asked, even though I wasn't there! Followed instructions to a T! I should also mention they were the most affordable option I quoted out! I've included before & after pictures of one of the rooms so you can get an idea.

The peeling paint was such an eyesore. Not helped by the south-facing wall that just got blasted by the sun.

Our century-old home was in bad need of an exterior paint job. It was painted by another painter just a few years ago, but the paint was peeling so badly from the terrible prep job that we had to have the whole exterior repainted. My neighbor recommended DaSilva, who'd done such a beautiful job on her home, and I couldn't be happier with the work they did on my home. They spent most of the time prepping the original wood siding, which lengthened the duration of the job. But I was actually happy, because I knew the slight delay meant they were being thorough and meticulous. And the cost of the job was not affected. I was a bit nervous given COVID, but the painters all wore masks. Because I am now working from home, I interacted with them quite a bit, and they were all so kind and helpful. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'm no longer embarrassed by my horrible-looking home! When we get around to painting our interior, I'll definitely give DaSilva a ring!

We contacted six painting companies for quotes on our home painting, five with 5 yelp reviews. We chose DaSilva based mostly on our interview with Maria and pricing. The 10 day project turned out perfectly and communication was always prompt. Kudos to Wilder and Eric, the primary painters. Later we'll do interiors and check in first with DaSilva. Very happy!

We found out about DaSilva painting on Nextdoor and then verified reviews with Yelp. We couldn't have been more pleased with the communication, team, COVID safety, price, and end product. Our home's exterior paint was very run down, but now looks like a whole new house. The team was professional, thorough, helpful, and paid attention to every detail. I would HIGHLY recommend using DaSilva for any painting job.

Make sure to ask about timing. your small job can put you out a week if they use you as filler for other jobs

My home is an upper unit of a 2 unit, 115 year old building in the Castro. You can see from the photos below that Gregory did a beautiful professional job on my project, working with the architect/designer who had suggested the built-ins, and responding to my particular requests. Fitting new cabinetry into an old wooden building required a lot of customization during installation, and Gregory was definitely up to the task - as mentioned by other reviewers he is easy to work with, creative, flexible, with an "incredible eye." He did all the installation and finishing himself (with a helper). To be fair, it took Gregory longer than he had estimated to make and install the cabinetry, but it was definitely worth the wait and he was very responsive and obliging throughout the process. The quality and value were top notch; the cost was about 50-60% that of the estimates I received from online cabinetry firms I contacted. Definitely a 5 star experience - thank you Gregory!

He is so incredibly easy to work with, creative, flexible, and has an incredible eye. He got a feel for our taste and made the benches fit aesthetically in our space seamlessly. It was not an easy thing to install either with the angles of the apartment. We could could tell it required a lot of skill and patience. We cannot imagine our space without them now. The bookcases on each side of the center chest piece was his idea too and it was such a clever use of space and it looks great. Truly, we cannot recommend him enough for his skill, taste, and he's really just the nicest guy. If we could get ten stars we would!! And his partner is awesome. They are the greatest team.

There are several finish issues, and while they've endeavored to address this, the doors continue to have a different finish and blemishes. They didn't protect the floor in the last few visits, and their ladders scarred our flooring. They also did not adjust the doors to line up, leaving us with uneven spacing, bulging centers, and misaligned bottoms. The worst problem is the communication. It takes months of attempting to reach them via email, voicemail, and phone calls to get a single response, with several months between visits to get any progress. For example, our last visit was at the beginning of April. It's currently the end of July, and we've been unable to reach them this entire time. Their prices are very expensive, and we expected a higher standard commensurate with the price that we did not receive. We would vastly prefer to work this matter privately and not have to resort to reviews, or if matters persevere, taking more severe actions, but not sure what to do at this juncture.

I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.
