After YEARS of having our commercial fleet services by the Shell on West Nursery road, I took my personal vehicle in for an oil chance before going on a road trip. While on my trip the oil stated to leak bad causing me to purchase additional oil and continuously stopping to check the levels while on my way to Michigan.
Right away I contacted Jason who worked on the vehicle and was to inform the owner of the issue, assured that "If we messed something up, we would take care of it" needless to say that was just something said to get me off the phone.
While in Michigan, I had a licensed Land Rover mechanic look into what was going on and was informed that not only was the oil drain plug removed and damaged but the oil had gotten all over the undercarriage and was visually starting to cause additional issues.
When I returned to Maryland, I contacted Jason and let him know that my mechanic who I have used for 7 years found additional issue caused by improperly done oil change, heat and damage caused by beach sand that dried and collected on crucial gears causing enough friction to do close to 2k worth of damage.
Upon giving Jason and "Z" who is the owner, all of the receipts and notes from my mechanic, playing phone tag for over a month, they did not feel they were responsible for the issues/damage that happened the day after the botched oil change. I was told by Jason who worked on the vehicle that I would at the least be reimbursed for the original oil change, the oil purchased on the road and the service ticket while in Michigan. When calling to follow up another two weeks with no response, I finally spoke to the owner "Z" and was told that the it is not fair that he have to reimbursement me anything.
That said, I have filed a formal complaint with the BB and have taken my vehicle fleet service to another local shop, with better service, lower prices, better communication skills and ethics. read more
