Amazing basic (in the best way) breakfast sandwiches. Donuts and cookies are also wonderful! Love having this place in the neighborhood :)

Best Bakery, Coffee and Breakfast Sandwiches in Glenside. We go here every time we come back home

15 bucks per pound for cookies!...They are good, but WTF! My 5 year old son wanted some cookies & I had to take a damn loan out. The danish are skimpy with the fruit toppings. The baked goods, cakes, cookies sit in the display case FOREVER. We went in for a few cookies 3 times MOn, Wed & Fri one week & the same damn cakes & cookies still sat there. I know because my lil guy loves the cherry top cookies & over the week we bought them all, I saw how many there were day to day. They dont even carry butter cake:( This bakery is good, not fabulous. Just as good as any other bakery. However way OVER PRICED, not everyone in Glenside is Rich Daryl. read more

I love there donuts (especially there chocolate frosted), its the best donuts in Glenside. If you wanna go to a good donut shop, go to daryl's pastries! read more

O M G !! Can you say massively delicious? This bakery better never close, since they are the very best at what they do. If you are a scone fan, as I am, Daryl's is Hands Down the God of Scones. They offer raisin, cranberry, chocolate chip and I believe orange/cranberry. I love my scones to be VERY crisp on the outside and luxuriously cake-like on the inside. And that's exactly how their scones are baked. I hate it when I purchase scones that are all soft and mushy. I have tried their raspberry twists, which I believe would be in the category of french pastry. Flaky and delic! And they also have a cheese french pastry that is to die for! My advice, if you want to treat yourself and make the calories WORTH IT, go to Daryl's. You'll thank me! read more

Nice neighborhood bakery with great donuts and pastries. There are table available inside and outside, so you can stay and have your breakfast. read more

Oh how I love the donuts at Daryl's. I've tried at least 6 different varieties and they've all been wonderful. I loved Daryl's as a child and now, as a 24 year old, I still make a point to visit at least once when I'm in town visiting my parents. My favorites are the vanilla donuts with marble fudge icing and the chocolate donuts with vanilla icing and jimmies. I've only ever had the donuts, and they're worth 5 stars themselves but my mother told me that we employees loved Daryl's cookies when she brought them into work and a friend of mine calls the croissants "heavenly." Go there. Delicious. And the donuts are only $1 -- no more expensive than most Dunkin Donuts. read more

Great donuts. Makes you wonder why people bother with Dunkin. Try the cinnamon twist.

A Glenside institution. This is a fantastic bakery, where every item is great. Even simple things like cookies and biscotti are extraordinarily delicious. And of course doughnuts, scones, muffins, and danishes are superior to any of the competition. They also have good egg and cheese sandwiches. The coffee isn't great, but that's not their focus, so I'll forgive them for that. Bring a travel mug and enjoy the baked goods. read more

Donuts were dry and stale. Space is small and cramped (and doesn't smell like a bakery????). I don't think anything was made the day of and you can get better literally anywhere else. I think they are the only game in town which is why locals like it so much. I came from a small town with a real bakery that made real, fresh donuts so I know what a good donut should taste like. This isn't it. read more

Heavenly. Daryl, you're a genius. So I know a lady who introduced me to this place. She's now my "dealer." We have a nickname for their crumb ring cake, crumb "crack" cake. Light, fluffy, just-right sweetness, a crumb topping, AND (I sh*t you not) a crumb bottom... the best coffee cake on earth. read more

The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and fresh. The donuts, croissants, and other breakfast baked goods are tasty. You can't go wrong starting your day here. read more

Head to Daryl's if you're looking for a small town bakery where you'll run into your neighbor while enjoying your morning cup of joe. They offer many desserts and a large self serve coffee bar. The white cream filled donuts are just the right amount of sweet. And the cakes are fantastic! Try the white cake with raspberry filling and white icing. It's incredible! read more

My family and I are donut fanatics, and I'd love to have a great local donut shop rather than Dunkin Donuts. Sadly, for us, Daryl's is not it. The donuts were alright and over a dollar a piece. I also ordered two breakfast sandwiches. They only serve those on a Kaiser roll, which I found to be a poor choice as the bread was tough. I am not sure that we'd go back here. read more

I grew up on doughnuts. It was almost a Sunday tradition that my dad would pick up a dozen for breakfast. I remember some mornings where he'd wake up at 4am just to get a hot, fresh batch, but I could never appreciate them as Sunday was my day to sleep in. Point is, my love for donuts started young, so when I came across the Yelp reviews for Daryl's Pastries, I had to try it. On my first visit, I bought a variety dozen to share with friends and they were a hit. I sampled a few and understood the high remarks that I read on Yelp. The doughnuts are delicious- so good that I texted my dad immediately to let him know that I just bit into one of the best doughnuts I'd ever had. I'm waiting for him to visit me (I've recently moved to Jenkintown from Seattle) so that I can bring him to Daryl's. read more

Aside from the fact that I gain 18 pounds everytime I walk in to Daryl's, I still love it! You walk into this small shop that is redolent with butter and cream and cookies and cake..... It's like walking into Heaven. And if I may, for 1.25 you get the BEST cupcake you'll ever eat, freshly iced with your favorite icing. YUMMMM-O! read more

My first visit here. I first noticed a friendly staff, everyone had smiles. I also liked thr public safety friendly service. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and there was no waiting. read more

Just purchased a Irish Soda Bread and it is excellent would highly recommend to everyone

Terrible!!! You should always be concerned when you walk into a bakery and don't smell baked goods. Though they told me their food is baked fresh in-house, there was no indication of that. The place smelled like cat!!! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a croissant and bagel. Though they aid their food were baked fresh daily, and I can in at 9:30am, the croissant was at least a day or two old, definitely didn't not look fresh at all! I had to go from bc another bakery to order my goods. The only good thing that happened is I stumbled into Paris Bakery which is amazing! read more

I'm a long-time resident of Glenside and just want to share my favorite items at Daryl's. Their chocolate chip cookies and brownies are beyond compare. If you haven't tried them, you're really missing out on one of the best we've ever tasted. How they get so many dark chocolate chips to stay together in that cookie must be a well kept secret - you can smell the chocolate coming from the box as soon as it hits the room! Also, the cranberry walnut muffin is the best, and the chocolate cake with the chocolate shavings is every bit as good as it looks. Go Daryl's! read more

Love it here! The breakfast sandwiches are very tasty and are ready when you arrive, so no waiting. The donuts have been consistently fresh and delicious. My favorite is the chocolate coated one with vanilla cream inside. So yummy. They have several cases of pastries, cakes, cookies, donuts, and more. There's also a decent selection of coffee, usually about eight flavors, brewed and ready to go. Service has been friendly and brisk, which is good considering how little the space is. There are tables outside if you want to relax and enjoy your goodies onsite. Highly recommend this little gem in Glenside! read more

Daryl's has the best doughnuts, egg sandwiches, and coffee around. The egg sandwiches are BIG - full of fluffy cheesy eggs, all on a flaky round roll Philly-style. My picky kids can each finish a whole egg sandwich by themselves, and still ask for a chocolate sprinkle doughnut when they're done! I'm a fan of the cinnamon rolls too, and the cannolis are surprisingly great (this from someone who has stood in line for cannolis at Termini Bros. on Christmas morn). They also have a wonderful looking array of seasonal cookies that would make a great party tray or gift. So glad they added the outdoor tables a few years ago - perfect place to sit on a saturday morning! I get my hair cut at Paris and the kids get cuts at Ralph's, all on the same block, so we always pair it with a stop at Daryl's. read more

The best!!! My parents started bringing home Daryl's every Sunday when I was 9 years old. I completely agree that they're an institution. It's a casual atmosphere, with seats and tables, though we've always opted for takeout with our goodies. I moved to New York, but every single time I visit my family, we get Daryl's. (Not just once a week anymore, though!) The muffins, pastries, breakfast sandwiches.....I mean, I can't name one thing I've tasted there that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. We even went this past Thanksgiving when they were open for a few hours. They're friendly, helpful, non-elitist and make high quality food without the high cost. Please visit and start your own tradition..find your favorite and you'll keep coming back for more. read more

When you think of what a corner neighborhood bakery should be, Daryl's Pastries is it! Good old fashion homemade ingredients made with love. This is a great family run business. The prices are very reasonable and you will soon find that this is the place to connect with old friends and new ones too! read more

My friends and I use to be patrons at Darryl's, however the owner of the bakery is condescending and rude. On one occasion he insinuated my friend was fat even though she was buying one of his mediocre at best breakfast sandwiches. If you want a good meal at breakfast or lunch time, head down the street to elcys. The servers are always sweet and attentive, no attitudes for miles, and the food is impeccable. read more

It's an idyllic neighborhood bakery where I can walk with my kids to get a yummy treat. But every.single.time I have been to this bakery, I have been shocked at the horrible owner. He yells at his employees, verbally abusing and berating them. I can no longer support this establishment because of him. read more

I bought a birthday cake which was supposed to have buttercream frosting. I usually bake my own but ran out of time this week. The cake was good, but the frosting was atrocious. I called and he said there had never been any complaints, before. He said it had butter and shortening(may Crisco or something)...definitely should not be called "butter" cream. It was embarrassing. read more

i am new to the jenkintown area and had passed the giant bakery sign and made a mental note to stop and check it out. oh.my.god! this place has the BEST donuts i have ever tasted! they also offer seating inside and out, coffee and bright, beautiful pastries and cookies. if you are in the area, you should put this on your list of places to try. read more

I have been there many times and I love it. My favorite is the birthday cake with coffee icing, but everything is exceptional and the cookies are the best as well as the danish & scones. They also have generous and delicious breakfast sandwiches! And the owners are very nice and the workers are always smiling. read more

From reading the other reviews I obviously should have stuck to the donuts. I was entertaining friends and bought a quarter of a cheesecake as well as some cookies. The cookies were obviously not made there and were the same as you would get at most bakeries. The cheesecake however was the most tasteless I have ever eaten. My guests were polite and took a few bites but I ended up washing most of what I bought right down the drain when putting the plates in the dishwasher. It seems like flavor was missing from both the crust and the cheesecake. It was tasted as if though it was sugar-free, but that is not what I bought. read more

A co-worker brought a box of assorted pastries into work today, and they were absolutely delicious! So mad at her for introducing me to this fabulous bakery! I'll be driving far out of my way to get to Daryl's Pastries. Well worth the trip. read more

I've been a patron of Daryl's bakery for years and I'm thankful for this neighborhood gem. This is my place for cookies! If you want tasty, beautifully crafted cookies to bring to a holiday dinner or give as a gift, these won't disappoint. They taste close to European style cookies with the dipped chocolate and fruit jelly. As for donuts, forget Dunkins! Their donuts are the real deal. They are fluffy and fresh. And the flavors aren't too crazy or gourmet like those others that cost you a fortune in a fad bakery kind of place. The service most times has been pretty efficient and gets you in and out pretty quickly. I might regret the calories I've accumulated off and on, but it's worth it for a sweet treat. read more
