The center is modern, clean, organized and has all the amenities. I came prepared with a clear bag but entry was still a breeze. Security does a great job pointing people in the direction of their seats and ensuring that stairways and hallways remain clear. In terms of food and drink, I was really impressed with the number of options. They have two full service food counters on either side of the arena. While I personally did not get anything, I saw people passing by with nachos and popcorn. If you want something a little more substantial Antones Poboys and Chick-fil-a were both set up for grab and go. They also had lots of alcoholic beverage options from tall boy beers, liquor for cocktails and even a spiked fresh lemonade stand. The arena has a fan shop onsite, some historical displays and a kid coloring zone. The game itself was well played (they won!) and executed from the announcer to the lights and entertainment. Firstly, this was the same venue that hosted Houston's Phi Slama Jama teams that included Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Young, and Clyde Drexler. Before Toyota Center, even before the Summit/Compaq Center, Houston had Hofheinz Pavilion. This was the original home of the Houston Rockets when they moved here. It hosted live acts such as Elton John, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, The Jackson 5, Madonna, Genesis, Prince, and Bob Dylan to name few. Yes, this place is a bit dated looking, but it most definitely looks nothing like a high school arena. Hofheinz Pavilion seats about 8,500 spectators, has multiple video screens, etc. The University of Houston has announced $40 million in upgrades, and already blows all other basketball arenas in the Houston area away minus the Toyota Center and Reliant Arena. This place is underrated.

I would recommend using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi if possible, since parking fills up quickly for events. During halftime, concession lines were long as expected, but they moved fairly fast. We had great seats and were able to see the fireworks clearly, which was a nice bonus. That said, the seating is fairly tight, so personal space can be limited. One important heads up is to be mindful of seat placement. The sun was beaming directly down on us, and it was extremely hot. Overall, visiting this stadium was an enjoyable experience, even for someone who does not care much for football.

Daikin Stadium To catch American baseball, at an American…read morestadium live was something at the back of my mind. Couldn't believe that I actually got to do it and Astros won the match that day, and THAT made all the difference. The erstwhile Minute Maid park was brought over by Daikin and Astros get to rule here. Watching on TV gives all the close ups, but the Texan pride songs, the motivation trumpets, the train horn when one hits a home run, that's just such a blast and have to be in person to experience it. ! It is an all natural grass field. Wonder how they maintain it. I thought it was a carpet until I was rectified. It is just soo neat and beautiful. While it is majorly a baseball stadium, during off seasons it is also used for soccer, rugby, or even concerts. The hallway is filled with pictures of legends and Baseball heroes. The floor shines like a new penny and everyone is soo very friendly and in the spirit of the game. Parking was a breeze since it was VIP entrance. But, there is a huge huge parking fitting all pockets, with some walking involved. There is a also a metro station about 15-20 min walk, for those who want to be spared the trouble of parking. Got entrance with the Gallagher club which was right next to the train (the train while hoots and moves at every home run) As soon as the wards outside check ur tickets and let you in, you walk right into a restaurant cum bar kind of a place. Except that all food, and most beverages are free, or, added onto the price of the ticket... The food bar was huge and a lot of them did not speak english, but that did not matter because those who could went out of their way to help me get only vegetarian. I stuck to salads and then loaded myself on desserts- oh the desserts ! I mean their bite size cakes, the mango pudding, cookies....and ice cream....it was just a party ! The game itself It was the first of the three matches of the Astros team. They played against Rookies. The friends' I went with explained the scoring and the rules and stuff, and pretty soon I was oohing and awwing and screaming while rooting for the home team. It was soo much fun !!! Not my first time in a stadium, but definitely my first time watching Astros, or even baseball for that matter in live action. Astros won and the stadium ruptured with screams. And I can honestly say it has been an amazing decision. I contemplated on going back because I wasn't sure if I would feel left behind with younger adults knowing more technology that I do. It has been an extremely easy transition. Okay my review of the school. At first it might seem unorganized. And this school might not be a right fit for everyone. But one thing I have learned with this school is that they honestly care about the students. And they want you to succeed. The classes aren't extremely big and EVERY single professor is available to help you. The school itself isn't as expensive as other schools either. If you're considering going to college. Or returning back to school I recommend this one. But just go back and do it!!
