Entry door deadbolt was jammed and could not open the front double doors. I called Darrell - he was on the road nearby and he showed up in 10 minutes! The lock system has a chain mechanism that was not operating, as well. It originally looked like I would need to replace the entire system through ThermaTru doors, however Darrell and Harry were able to disassemble and clean out the lock and worked to lubricate the chain, now the lock works like a charm. Darrell prides himself on doing a thorough job. A very kind guy, he was diligent and careful not to make a mess. He also came right over when we called. He was able to replace and repair door locks throughout the house and even repaired a lock that was improperly installed by the previous owner to save us from replacing the lock. I made an appointment on the telephone for Keith to come out and install a keyless lock that I had purchased on Amazon. He was flexible with timing and we texted back and forth about changes to the schedule Keith arrived on time, he was respectful, courteous and neat. He had a little vacuum to pick up the sawdust when he drilled the hole larger. I had orig thought I could go to them pick out a lock at their place..and have them install it but I it was suggested to me that I get a Quality Lock and then hire the installation, I find $160 way too much money for this fast labor only appt.. however that being said, for whatever reason, I suspect this is the going rate and at least it's done and I feel confident that it was done correctly. read more

I was locked out at night. Called other locksmith in town first, waited and waited, never show up and want to charge me insane amout of money. Declined theire service. Called Darrell's early in the morning. He answered promptly and very pleasant ,told me he only charge a flat rate of $40. i like that, very straightford.He showed up at my house timely ,turned out my lock cannot be picked, he has to break it ,but he goes beyond to the homedepot to got me a new lock and put it back for me. I accidentally locked myself out of my office (locks when you close it if you don't turn the handle a certain way) and was not looking forward to calling or paying for a locksmith but had to get back in. Called Darrell and he was at my studio in less that 20 minutes. Not only did he get me back in, he replaced the lock, made me multiple keys and was the most cheerful dude ever. But most of all, he spent a lot of time brainstorming with me about how to repair our front door, which is massive, hand-carved and custom built, with some unusual features on the locks and handles. He was the first and only locksmith who had me send him pictures by text of our office door so that he could see what needed to be done! Smart cookie is Darrell. I could surmise from his words that he wanted to give us what we truly "needed", but I told him what we "wanted" and he delivered! 11pm and my son locks himself out of his bedroom in our brand new house. We have Baldwin crystal handle door locks and the typical hanger or paperclip does not work. The doors are heavy and thick.
