This is a caring community of teachers and staff that work hard to bring the richest curriculum to their students. The garden is amazing!

Crystal was very professional, well experienced and genuinely helpful. I will personally recommend Crystal to every parents of a child with IEP. Please consult with an advocate first before signing an IEP. She undertstand and helped us with our concerns that we don't know how to ask with school district, she gave us pointers and typed it all out for us to bring on the meeting. We are very thankful for her and definitely recommending her to other parents.

My daughter was part of the COVID class so she transferred in her junior year and had classes mainly on campus(which she loved). She commuted to/from school/home. She had early enough classes that she did not really have to fight for parking. My son is currently a sophomore there and has been living on campus. He was lucky to find Wonder roommates and friends and lived in locations on campus within walking distance of everything. So far it is hard work but he is enjoiyhis time at State. There are so many great clubs, organizations, and opportunities around campus. The trolly system is pretty good as well and a great means of transportation around San Diego if they do not have a car. My daughter graduated in 2024 and really enjoyed her time there. Very lucky to have them both near by for school. Great campus!!! Oh if near by you have to check out the turtle pond, it is so amazingly peaceful and tranquil.

I have had ample opportunities from SDSU for my future career and also to meet friends for life. The campus is absolutely stunning and has its own farmers market once a week in the main square area. They also have so many events on campus that they do an amazing job organizing. I think one thing that really stuck out to me, especially being out of state, was that I immediately felt at home here. I joined Greek life, student orgs, and had such an amazing experience where I was able to contribute to my personal and professional development. I will forever thank this school for everything it's given me and grateful that I've found a place. The one thing I will say, however, is that I lived in Chappy and that freshman dorm building needed help. But at the same time I was in the most social building, so that allowed me to meet the friends I have now!

We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a warm, welcoming, and enriching school community…read more From the very beginning, our family has felt supported not just academically, but personally as well. The teachers and staff truly go above and beyond to create an environment where each child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to grow. We currently have three children at the school, and each of them has had such a positive and unique experience. The balance between strong academics and character development is something we deeply appreciate. It's clear that the school is focused on nurturing the whole child, building confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for learning. One of the highlights for our family has been the musical program. Our daughters have been involved in the school musical, and it has been such a meaningful experience for them. Not only have they grown in confidence and creativity, but they've also formed friendships across different grade levels, which has been so special to see. The sense of community that comes from these programs is truly something unique. We couldn't be happier with our experience and feel lucky every day to be part of this amazing school. It's a place where children are encouraged to thrive, friendships flourish, and families feel genuinely connected.

I will say the first two years we…read morewere not that happy with a lot of the staff, the non disciplinary action of other students that would misbehave and have no consequences. Even the inside of the middle school was a disappointment because there were no walls separating the different classrooms. Fast forward to present day, my daughter is in 8th grade and I am so sad she is now leaving MHA to go off to high school. Mrs Robertson is now the director at the middle school, there have been major staff changes, they even spent all summer redoing the entire inside of the school! There are walls, student lounge areas, amazing new staff, Mrs Robertson's office is right there so she can oversee everything, and there is even a counselor that comes once a week that will meet with any student or parent that might have any issues or concerns that they want to discuss, they have monthly meetings with the entire middle school about mental health as well. My daughter is thriving and loving school! We feel so confident and comfortable with her there. We love the new/returning staff, new programs, building updates, etc. I wish they had an MHA high school!! We have a younger daughter that will be at the middle school next year and we are so happy that she will be at MHA. She has some learning disabilities and the staff has been so accommodating to her. We really appreciate all the positive changes that MHA has made for this school year. Not only are the students more happy this year, you can tell the staff are excited to be there as well. Thank you MHA!!

My experience with the SDSU Veterans Center was in 2021…read more I originally contacted the Veterans Center for counseling on what my next steps are and how to go through using my post-9/11 benefits. After being bounced around through a few emails I had an online meeting roughly 3 weeks later to which I was told that the online meetings are for current students only. When I told them that I was simply looking for counseling for prospective students, one of the staffers (who doesn't work there anymore) laughed at me. She forgot to mute herself and rolled her eyes after complaining that there were other things she needed to be doing. I sent a complaint to Todd Kennedy who was at the time the head of the veterans center, and although he was very apologetic about the situation I didn't feel that the issue with his staff was resolved. He replied that the counseling position that I was in need of recently was cut from the budget so they could not help in that regard, but he assured me that he would talk to his staff. Although this review is a long time coming I feel that veterans should understand that your experience may vary. I am sure things may have improved since the two years I inquired, however, I haven't been back to verify.

Their reasoning is that they can't provide services without this data and signing in after you start talking is not an option. The front desk person was explaining how everything worked during my first visit and the supervisor rudely interrupted him to deny me access to information. I literally couldn't listen anymore and did not get the information I needed. They are insensitive and unpersonable. It felt robotic. This school has enough problems and these people are just being part of those problems instead of being a welcoming break. They also haven't updated their location on the map in years, which means I had to walk all over campus to find them.
