Waiting for the track to dry during the rain delay at Darlington Raceway

Went to our second NASCAR race weekend here in 2019. It'll always hold a special place in my heart because it was my son's first race. Parking (like with any giant event like this) is a nightmare in those big fields. There's really no bad seat in the stands, though with any track, I suggest going up as high as possible. The pit passes are totally worth it, too.

Rating is for the Museum and Hall of Fame, since I haven't been to a Darlington Race - yet! It's been a few years since my last visit. Admission is still a most reasonable $5.00. The race cars on display had changed some since my last visit. I enjoy seeing some of the race cars from NASCAR's early days, such as the "Fabulous Hudson Hornet", and a rare AMC Matador from the 1970's. From the current era is one of Tony Stewart's cars and the car Denny Hamlin drove at Darlington with the throwback era scheme. My favorite part is the Hall of Fame area. Each inductee space has an drawing of the person, some item associated with them in a display case, and a button to push to get more information about the inductee. Enjoyable trip down NASCAR memory lane.

Once each year the population is Darlington grows by 60,000 or so for the running of the Southern 500. Lots of activities throughout the day. Clean facility with friendly and helpful staff. Lots to do and see before the race. They have eliminated the Driver merchandise trailers and converted to a large store concept, takes away some of the experience. Hope this is not a trend with all tracks.Stands are steep which is a bugger to climb but offer great views close to the track. As with most facilities leaving the parking lot is an adventure so we just relaxed in the parking lot for about 45 mins and it wasn't too bad,

We stopped in to see the race track and take simple photos. Gift shop was filled with really cool merchandise and great deals. There is also a racecar museum to wander through, it didn't cost much to enter, lots of NASCAR history and beautiful cars. Overall it was a good stop and we got some history in the process.

It was my first time of seeing a NASCAR race live and I wanna say that everything was first class. Parking was very easy to get into and out of. Food was great and they had a great place to buy merchandise. Staff was friendly. Had great seats even though every seat is a great seat. No matter where you're sitting you can see the entire racetrack. I'll go back again.

Bathrooms were actually pretty clean throughout the event, so no complaints there. My biggest issue was the flow of people. The outside signage could've been a lot better because it wasn't always clear which entrance you were supposed to use. Inside, the concession area felt overcrowded and poorly laid out. You had the entrances, bathrooms, and like four different vendors all in the same area with long lines everywhere. It created a bottleneck and made it harder to move around than it needed to be. Not a bad venue overall, but they could definitely improve the layout and signage for larger events.

The prices have gone up and the quality has dropped way down which is crazy. They have closed blueline which only left one bar on the concourse, with only one bartender which makes for a long wait. The bar upstairs is inconvenient and it takes the gentleman working in it and long time to make a simple drink, The last hockey game i attended was sellout night and it was like a mad house, the bar was ridiculous, i guess i can only be hopeful that they will get the other bar back open soon and that the service gets better.

Very clean and well maintained facility. The people from the ticket window, to the gate, to the mascots, to the attendants that bring around bags for trash/recycling (brilliant - wish other ballparks would do this) were so incredibly helpful and friendly. The people make this a terrific experience. You feel so welcomed and are thanked numerous times for coming. There are beaches and regular stadium seats. There's also suites available there are 2 covered areas which are awesome. Wish they had industrial fans up on the poles (high enough up to not block views - so doable) to help with the heat. Lots of refreshments and options for snacks/foods. Very reasonable prices and food is good quality. Had hot dog and popcorn (it was fresh). They do have. Bat beer container for $25 (see pic). Ticket prices are absolutely reasonable for the game! Great way to have a family night out without breaking the bank or even an adult/date night. They do a great job entertaining the crowd and keeping them engaged.
