We had the best time watching our favorite football team from the UK play their pre season match here at the stadium . First time here and I was surprised at how nice the stadium was. Great venue and we had fabulous seats. The people who work here are great as well , we didn't think the signage was that great but you ask them where is this and they will get you to the right place. They have a huge parking lot with lots of tailgate space. We walked to the stadium after parking elsewhere for free we heard the traffic coming out was a standstill for awhile . We managed to get back to our car and out of town the back way and were back in charlotte before I'm sure they got back home in Columbia! We set an attendance record for any soccer match played here 77,000 plus! Was a great night for our team , Liverpool FC ! Winning 3-0! I attended Williams Bryce Stadium for a South Carolina Gamecocks game against the Florida Gators in October of 2023 and had the time of my life! I haven't been to many college football games, a lot more NFL games but I tell ya, for this SEC East rivalry between South Carolina and Florida, the crowd electricity was at a fever pitch! One of the loudest game atmospheres I have ever been to. Granted, universities like Penn State, Oregon and Texas A&M have reputations for some of the most intense settings in all the nation, but here at Williams Bryce, I was mighty impressed! Here are details about the game experience... Arriving to Williams Bryce, I did not purchase any prepaid parking spot ahead of time. There was really nothing offered on TickPick, Stubhub or Ticketmaster. And this worked out fine anyways. Someone standing in front of a parking lot street corner held a sign saying $10. I chose this lot which was on grass and right along the corner of Shop Road and Abbott Road (next to a DMV) heading towards Williams Bryce. I paid in cash. It was then a casual 1.2 mile walk to the stadium and took 20 minutes. I purchased a ticket for $111 on TickPick which was the cheapest offered. It was in Section 307 and Row 39 on the home side of the stadium but unfortunately, my seat had a partial viewing obstruction and so I had to move somewhere else. Instead, I found an unoccupied seat at the top row parallel to one of the end zones. You may think this nosebleed seat wouldn't be good, but instead it was fantastic! Best of all, I could stand up whenever I wanted without having to worry about blocking the views from the person sitting behind me. So in fact, the last row high at the top was perfect. Luckily, with Williams Bryce pretty much at full 77,000 person capacity for the game, I did not interfere by sitting in someone else's seat. The game started at 3:30pm. They allowed fans into Williams Bryce 90 minutes before kickoff. This gave me ample time to walk around the stadium, explore and get in as many photos as possible. And even prior to fan entrances, there was a cool walking pathway for South Carolina players entering the stadium. QB - Spencer Rattler stopped to say hello to his family and the fans. I enjoyed the players up close like they were celebrities. There was plenty of tailgating going on around the grounds of Williams Bryce. In fact, the South Carolina State Fair was also in town and located right nearby. Another great area to hang out at was the University of South Carolina Gamecock Park. Here people lounged on the grass, threw footballs around, played corn hole and enjoyed their Saturday. It was nice to get a glimpse into what the pregame festivities were like. Lastly, beside Williams Bryce were old train tracks with real train compartments for you to walk in and out of. Plus, they were great photo opportunities. If you're walking towards the game, you sort of can't miss these iconic train tracks and vintage railroad cars. Entering inside Williams Bryce, vendors handed out free towels commemmorating the game. They were awesome. I asked for 3 towels and they gave me a bundle of 6! Best of all, the towels said...South Carolina vs. Florida with the Gamecocks mascot Rooster and the date October 14th, 2023. Overall, Williams Brice Stadium, was very photogenic for a 3:30pm start time. I got some great pics in. But I think the most memorable aspect of it all was the South Carolina music and chant. Any time there was a need to get the stadium rocking before or after a scoring drive, the loudspeakers blasted this music. Lol, I just Googled the song and it's called "Sandstorm". Using Sandstorm along with waving those white gameday towels intensified the noise to a fever pitch. I was having fun regardless that I'm from Florida. Well done for using the song, Sandstorm. What a great way to get the crowd rocking! Laslty, the game was competitive and back and forth. It came down to the final seconds. Florida won 41 - 39. There was plenty of scoring and action so besides the electric crowd roaring till the final moments, the 80 combined points made for tons of memorable plays and touchdowns. In the end, I couldn't have asked for a better game day experience from here at Williams Bryce Stadium at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. My 500th review!! And I couldn't be more excited than to be writing it about Williams Brice Stadium. As a sports lover, especially football, my friends with season tickets surprised me with a ticket to the Texas A&M at USC game on Saturday October 22, 2022. This was my first live sporting event since last summer, my first game at WB, and let me tell you how electric this place was. It's a night game. Sold out crowd. Our tickets are at the club level meaning we have access to clean bathrooms, short drink lines, and tons of tables and chairs and TVs inside. But who is going to sit in there on the most perfect football weather night!? Not me!!! With game day towel in hand let's get outside and scream until we lose our voices. And that we did!! The first play was a USC kickoff return for a TD. You could feel the entire place shaking it was so exciting!!! The level of intensity that the team played with and the support from the crowd, the Gamecocks caused the Aggies to have 8 false starts!! With a 30-24 W I was on the best adrenaline high!! So there you have it Yelp, review number 500 from lil ol me capturing my love for USC and the fun you can have at their home stadium! I've been to a-lot of stadiums and I have to say this was one of my favorites. The stadium was very clean and nice. As my family and I walked through the stadium we were impressed with the accessibility. The lines to get food weren't bad, and there were plenty food items to choose from. I loved the fireworks shot off the jumbo screen! So much fun. There's something to be said about a sea of white towels in the air. What an experience. Parking can be a bit of a challenge; then again most places are. Make sure to check out the cock a boose and the village during events, we loved all the pregame activities! read more

The late Robin Williams and Bryce Canyon National Park teamed up to bring you this stadium, where Dead Poets, Good Will Huntings, and beautiful Utah scenery combine to thrill every inch of you. Yes even that inch. Not really, but this is one of the best college sports stadiums in the country, and also one of the most underrated. It's a spectacular and enormous stadium located in Columbia South Carolina and it's kind of the heart of the city - but kind of not because this city manages to balance being a real big functioning city as well as being a college sports hub. You can see it from miles around and I like that about it. It's visible from the downtown in the valley and I like that even more. It's just a gorgeous stadium on every level. Robert was the dude that originally showed me around the town, and I insisted that we first come here. It was impressive empty, but let me tell you that on my 3rd tour, I was lucky enough to be in here when it's full, and oh my goodness. Plus any team known as the Gamecocks is always going to be popular with me since I have such a game c***. I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at, or visited when empty (and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** It's easy to get in and out of, and instead of leaving the end of the stadium wide open and gaping (like in one of those San Fernando Valley movies), they actually filled it in with a few seats as well as the scoreboard to protect some of the atmosphere. 80k people can come here, and more importantly Columbia is a wonderful city for me to play concerts in and I'll always love it. read more

Ah, the memories I have of Williams Brice and the Gamecock nation. Growing up in the Columbia area, I remember helping run the concession stands while in middle school, spending hot late summer Saturdays tailgating before there were paved parking lots, and cheering a consistently mediocre South Carolina team. Wow, how times have changed! Since the last time I visited Williams Brice (almost 15 years ago), they've upgraded the facilities, added end zone seating, paved the parking lots, and gotten 100% better on the football field. I was lucky enough to visit when Tennessee was visiting SC this past November. Of course I found myself in awe of the enormous changes in the facilities. However, the atmosphere was everything that I remember it being (yes, even through the lean years). Excellent fun made even better that I was able to share it with my father and two brothers - not to mention that SC actually pulled off the upset, therefore making going to a bowl game a REAL possibility. I would strongly recommend attending a game here if you have the opportunity. Bear in mind that the one thing that didn't seem to change was the absolutely HORRIBLE traffic. The SCHP were doing the best they could, but we still managed to spend the better part of an hour creeping along, although joyously (GO GAMECOCKS!!!) I hope to someday bring my youngest children to Columbia to experience the tailgate ritual (we live in Hawaii). Maybe next year. Thanks for the continued memories Williams Brice. read more

As college football stadiums go, Williams-Brice is pretty much par for the course. Seats are packed closely together, the concourses are tired and somewhat dismal, and the concessions underwhelming but affordable. But because its 80,000-seat capacity is slightly smaller than other SEC stadiums, you feel a little closer to the action here -- even if the Gamecocks don't give you much action to get excited about. But the stadium's biggest drawback is its remote location -- more than a mile from the southern end of the USC campus, and almost two miles from the heart of downtown Columbia. Surrounded by acres of surface parking and the South Carolina Fairgrounds, Williams-Brice feels like its on the surface of the moon, and is incredibly tough to access on foot. Walking to and from the stadium with my 10-year-old son, I felt uneasy walking in the muddy drainage ditch along George Rogers Blvd, as a steady stream of cars raced by just a few feet away. USC has a beautiful campus, but the football stadium isn't a part of it in any way. A fun environment that would be a lot more fun somewhere else. read more

What a nice stadium! Attending a football game is an experience!! Fireworks shoot out the top of the scoreboard. The dedication and pride Gamecock fans have for the team radiate into the atmosphere!! There's a fan zone set up outside the stadium where you can purchase souvenirs. They have plenty of concession stands so the lines aren't obnoxiously long. Italian ice, wings, fried rice, and hot dogs are a few of the items I noticed. The prices aren't awful, typical of a stadium. Water and Gatorade are $4 each. I can see how parking can be a nightmare. We ran into people selling boiled peanuts and bottles of water on the way in and out of the stadium, which was a plus. read more

Nice SEC stadium. I have been here of a dozen times, mostly for Arkansas vs. USCjr games. So this review is from a visiting fan's point of view. Pros Best traffic management of any of the SEC stadiums I have been to. It is easy to get in and get out after the game. Some people may disagree, but don't judge until you have been to Fayetteville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn or Baton Rouge. Parking prices are respectable. $10 - $25 depending on how close you get. Atmosphere for a college game is excellent. The Cocks do it right. The USC fans are very friendly to visiting fans, unless they are winning. They can get a little cocky when they are winning (Men's room) you are pissing in a trough, no individual urinals. Now this does make it more efficient but god help you if you fall in. Cons Tailgating is fragmented. The Cockaboose is nice but those are reserved for private parties. You can have a good time tailgating but it is not centralized where you can really meet a lot of home fans, The stadium is not on campus, in fact it is in an industrial / warehouse area. It's been getting nicer as the years have passed but would be nice to walk around the campus before the game. read more

What a place to see a game! HUGE while still retaining that college football vibe! Doesn't feel like a NFL stadium, which is a good thing. You get the full "crazy college supporter" vibe with all the students, alumni, and fans. It's a sea of maroon and white. I can't wait to see another game locally. It's close-ish to town, definitely walk-able. Avoid the parking/traffic and walk or at least grab a uber! Totally recommend attending a game here. Only been to a few college games, but I am super impressed with this stadium. Well set up, not a bad seat in the place. It holds 80,500 fans and they are a raucous bunch! There is a lot set aside for tailgating and it was filled to capacity. The only thing I am not used to is that beer is not available at the game. Guess we have to make it up at the tailgate! The stadium is a short distance from the campus and the local law enforcement have a good layout to keep traffic moving during game day. Overall, a great day to watch college ball. I will start off by saying I may be a little biased. I am an alumni of UofSC and this is my favorite place to be on earth! Games here are so much fun! Everyone receives a white rally towel as they enter, which is very important and necessary for the sandstorm that will soon ensue! The crowd/environment here is always incredible. Win or lose, we've got some loyal fans. The concession stands and facilities have been improved since I was a student. There are more options for food. But the best new addition is the water fountains that allow for refilling of water bottles. Everyone is allowed to bring in one sealed bottle so it's perfect for refilling. A change to be careful about (which many stadiums have started doing) is that they only allow clear bags. So ladies - don't forget to change out your purse! I highly recommend coming to a game here, especially a night one as it can get pretty hot in the famously hot Columbia! Go Cocks! read more

Pleased with the quality of the facility and its nearby tailgating amenities. The tiering of the different levels project a lot of noise and the spaces between rows offer sufficient legroom,even in the upper deck. Traffic for the Florida-South Carolina game was heavy (due to the concurrent SC State Fair) but parking options around the stadium were ample. Attended Texas A&M-Gamecock game recently and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My first time to WB, AKA, Cockpit, and I was impressed with the very accomodating fanbase. The game happened to take place in conjunction with the SC state fair. Fortunately, we were advised to get there early to secure parking. Totally lucked out on this front as we consciously drove by countless private lots heading toward the Stadium charging $20-$50. We ended up directly behind the stadium adjacent to the fairgrounds for 5 bonz! Access to the Stadium was an easy walk across the street and into the cockpit's gates. Stadium is SEC worthy seating 84k. We were on the visitors side in the upper deck, right next to the SC sun. Sightlines were good, atmosphere even better. Ample concession stands available with reasonable pricing. Overall, it is a 4 star game day experience. My buddy left super happy as his Aggies prevailed. Check out Gamecock park and the George Rogers statue. (George actually almost ran me over with his golf cart, Heisman in tow! Better RB than driver) read more

This was my first trip to the the stadium. I must say that it left a lot to be desired. First off, there is no shade whatsoever. People were literally dripping in sweat. If you have seats anywhere above the first 5 rows, you better bring someone to hold on to. There is no hand rail whatsoever which makes it difficult for both children and older individuals climb up. There was a lady that I helped to get to her seat who had bad knees. She literally had nothing to hold on to. The concessions always had long lines every time I went down. I'll try and be objective here as I was visiting Williams-Brice Stadium as a member of the opposition Florida Gators. Out of all the college stadiums I have been to, this one by far was the most bland and overall lacking in a sense of the college atmosphere. All the other stadiums are surrounded by beautiful backdrops of historic campuses, while this stadium seems to have been dropped in the middle of an industrial park. Maybe I would have felt a bit better about the experience if a drunk college student showed some passion for a school and yelled at me while walking through the tailgate area in my Tebow jersey, but for the most part the experience was pretty bland once again. I love SEC football and in no way do I mean to berate the body of South Carolina, but this was by far my least favorite away game experience and not because we lost.
