This place rules! I was visiting my uncle in California and was looking for some cool heavy metal adventures while I was there. I discovered this small record shop and it was absolutely incredible. The owner is this away guy named Rick and he knows EVERYTHING!! I stayed and chatted with him for almost an hour he is so knowledgeable about the products and the music. I came out with many different products, I bought T-shirts, cd's, pins, patches and tapes. This was one of the most awesome stores I've ever been to. You have to go if you are ever in the area

About as kvlt as it gets. Highly recommend for the old-school heads out there. Merch, CDs, vinyl, gear you won't find anywhere else in town, and of course Sadistic fuckin' Intent. \m/

Killer ass store! Always has the sickest stuff available from cds to records. Big assortment of shirts and patches and other cool miscellaneous items. Guy at the front has the best stories from his band Sadistic Intent. A bunch of cool signed posters from their different shows hung around the walls. Definitely coming back!

This photo was taken during my last visit at Dark Realm Records. The underground metal store is run by two brothers who have a passion for this music and are also in a band themselves. They're really humble gents that love to give a hand to their customers and really know how to treat them well. They have some cools stuff that you won't find anywhere else in LA.

View as soon as you walk in.

Super chill, easy to talk to, and clearly has amazing taste in music. We chopped it up for a bit, and he even gave me a free Moonshine Records shirt because it was my birthday- didn't have to, but it meant a lot. Now let's talk vinyl... no matter what you're into, you'll find something. The Latin section is fire, the 80s selection is solid, and there's a perfect mix of new and old. Everything is clean, organized, and easy to dig through. I walked out with some amazing finds at great prices and had to seriously stop myself from buying more. Parking was easy, and the shop was super easy to find. I didn't want to gatekeep... but this spot is too good not to share. I'll definitely be back.

It's the kind of place you stumble into and immediately realize you're about to lose track of time. Crate after crate, it's packed with deep cuts that you just don't see anywhere else. I was honestly blown away when I found an Ethiopian jazz record I've been listening to on Spotify for over a decade just sitting there. That moment alone made the entire visit worth it. There's a real sense that whoever curates this place actually cares about music beyond the obvious. It's not curated for trends--it's curated for discovery. Every section feels like a rabbit hole waiting to pull you in deeper. I walked in curious and walked out absolutely so effin stoked. If you're even remotely into digging for records, this place is a must. Staff was so tight!! Prices were reflective of the a1 quality and had so much variety I could have spent so much longer in it.

Rock and hip hop seem to predominate the space in this small shop. They also sell CDs and tapes. Follow them on Instagram @vinylsaurs. This is the best way to know when they are open as they don't adhere to the schedule posted on Yelp. This is also how I found out about their amazing sale that Saturday.

I have to echo what other reviewers have said before: Gilbert is an amicable and informed record store owner. He shared his wealth of knowledge, cracked several funny one-liners, and even played Rock the Casbah. Thank you Vinylsaurs for all the quality jams and jokes. Update: This store is now my out and out favorite record store. The owner just installed a retro DJ system in the back. It was originally intended for roller rinks or large spaces. Sounds just like the system that would be used at a roller disco. Test out a favorite jam or look around while Gilbert tests another record collection. I heard another customer play Billy Stewart on the Vinylsaurs system, and the sonic funkiness echoed through the room. Vinylsaurs is now making a stronger push to sell tees, patches, pins and band merchandise. Gilbert is an expert at finding collector's items. I highly suggest contacting Gilbert to see if he does not have hard to find classic rock or classic rock fan gear. I recently saw a few rare Smiths records here. There really is not another store quite like this one. Vinylsaurs has been around before vinyl came back, and Gilbert's ability to professionally maintain this store front is a testament to his respect for music.

There's bin after bin of treasures from the 60's to current, ranging from the $5 well loved classic range to the obscure and hard to find gems, this place has it all! The owner and staff clearly love what they do, and it shows - from their knowledge of music and their chill and friendly attitude, to the time and care that they've put into their catalog and storage. Can't make the journey in person? Not to fret, this place is actually just a brick and mortar for their online presence @ audiophileusa.com which has a detailed listing of their offerings! I'm always appreciative when I come across a business where I can tell that the owner truly is in to what they do. I'll certainly be returning, and if you're into vinyl I hope to see you there as well. :)

I ordered online and came in to pick up. Of course I took the liberty to dig in-store and found some gems. I had to leave and didn't completely go through all the records but that's ok, I'll be back, as The Terminator would say. Mark was super nice and pointed out the little stool to sit on for digging the bottom shelves. Ah, much better. side note: they were playing Inxs Kick album and that brought back a million memories, since it was my first concert at Irvine Meadows in 1988. And it really got me in the mood to dig. Organized by genre. Prices are reasonable. I am easy to please! Enjoy the digs!

She looked very bothered after I purchased wheels from her business and I even asked very kindly and respectfully if she could grip my board and she complained. As I was there working on my board , a couple of teenagers came in and she changed her attitude and energy towards them and made them feel welcomed but continued to be rude towards me and even muttered to the kids badly about me . Came to the shop because it was the only area that had the wheels I was looking for so I was really stoked to come in upon entering, she was really helpful and nice. I then asked her if she can help me with my grip tape and she seemed a little bothered. I stayed at the shop to work on my board because I figured I can just swap out the wheels I purchased . I grew up going to shops and hanging out in spaces where skateboarders are welcomed, but this is the first time where I felt like a burden for staying. They had younger folks coming in hanging out at the shop and I overheard her complain about how I had over stayed my welcome. I realize that I was getting treated like I was bothering her business. I asked her if there's anyway I can bother her for back to throw in my old wheels and she seem to be bothered stating that she didn't have any extra bags and mumbled it on her breath and handed me a bag with so much annoyance that I immediately left after that. This is not the space for skaters , I recommend going else where.
