Str33t Records... clever name for a newer vinyl record store in Alhambra, CA. While this woman-owned shop had its grand opening in November 2021, I didn't make it inside to get my dig on until 5/28/22. The shop is on the small side, yet, it is organized and still boasts a wide selection of genres. The young lady behind the counter - who I confirmed was the owner - was super nice too. Plus she's a great karaoke singer. (I could hear her over the samples she was playing.) My personal general rule of thumb is if the price is within $5-10 of an online store (e.g. Discogs) I prefer buying locally in the flesh. Folks can sit at home and whine about "the pricing is not accurate to market" and "the smart thing to do might be to match Discogs," but to me that's not why brick and mortar stores exist. I picked up Bobby (Blue) Bland, Alice Cooper, and Ann Peebles - all in good to great condition. Vinyl digging is invigorating especially when you learn what's rare. There is a greater sense of pride when you find something you deeply appreciate and is cool as hell. Free street and garage lot parking is nearby. I'm a fan. Thanks for the stickers for my daughters.

I'm not an album collector but I like to browse through some of the albums to check out the oldies I remember back in the day. Some of these can be pretty expensive and this hobby of collecting can set you back hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the years.

New record store on Main Street Alhambra. Pretty wide selection available (reggae, dancehall, r&b,rock, country etc). Also small soundtrack selection available. Worth checking out if you're nearby. Parking available on street or nearby lots.

I'm a prolific vinyl record collector. I typically buy at record shows, estate sales, and private parties. However, whenever I find myself in a new city, I try and visits local record stores. I judge record stores by the variety of music and condition of the records. Str33t had an excellent selection, was very organized, and all the used records were clean and in decent to excellent shape. Pricing was fair, and I don't mind paying a bit more if I'm supporting a good local business. If you are in Alhambra I recommend a crate dig at Str33t Records.

Absolutely looooove this record shop!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for an audiophile or a record newbie like myself. The best curation and a really nice wide selection to sift through! This shop (and the owner) truly inspired me to start collecting records. I literally bought records and a record player later that day!! There is a really great selection of new and used records from all sorts of genres. I try to come every weekend just to see what's new! All my favorite finds have been from Str33t Records.

Does this place fix/flatten warped vinyls?

Hello! At this time, we currently do not offer this service, but as a business always looking to grow, this may be something we offer in the future if we can manage to bring in the best technology for it. Thanks for the question!

CAAAAN YOOOOU DIIIIIIG IT? Poo-Bah can!…read more Poo-Bah Record Shop is a time machine disguised as a music store, and let me tell you--it's the place for anyone who appreciates good tunes and even better customer service. My recent visit felt like stepping into a live Spotify mixtape, and here's why. I went in on a mission: find some records as a Christmas gift for a high schooler who's super smart, learning to play piano by ear, and whose taste in music is a mystery to me. No pressure, right? I grabbed a couple of records with piano-heavy tracks and headed home. But something told me, "Maybe give these a spin before handing them off." Glad I did--one of the albums had lyrics I wasn't exactly keen on giving to a kid. Determined to support a small business (because, let's face it, every dollar counts more there), I went back to see about an exchange. Walking in, I braced myself for an awkward return situation. I explained my dilemma at the counter, saying I didn't want a refund but was open to suggestions. And that's when the magic happened. The guy at the register immediately hopped off and started digging through records to find something more suitable. Then, the owner joined in--tag-teaming the search like Billy Taylor and Quincy Jones putting together a jazz masterpiece. They didn't just recommend records; they curated options with the care of someone arranging the perfect piano solo. At one point, I half-expected Ray Charles to pop out from behind the counter, saying, "Now this is how you dig Baby!" They found me some Count Basie to keep things swinging, threw in some Modern Jazz Quartet for that cool, intellectual vibe, and made me rethink my entire approach to gift-giving. I walked out with four records instead of two, grinning like a kid at their first jam session. These folks didn't just help me solve a gifting problem; they brought me back to a time when crate-digging was an art form and music was the language of discovery. As a former DJ, I know the joy of unearthing hidden gems, and Poo-Bah's team shares that same passion and knowledge. If you're into music and crave a place where the love for it runs deep, Poo-Bah Record Shop is it. This place isn't just a record store; it's a soundtrack to the golden era of music and a reminder of why we love vinyl in the first place.
