Chicken Italian on focaccia

Great little sandwich shop on downtown Palatine . They had a lot of good paninis. The food came out quick and the servers were very helpful .

Chipotle Hummus Wrap

Good place in a convenient location in Palatine downtown. Dario's is pretty close to the Metra station. It has sandwiches and that's pretty much all they have there. Good ones, not ones from corporate chains. There's not a whole lot for vegetarians, but they can customize a few sandwiches. Came in and got a wrap to eat inside. It's about $9 for a sandwich. That's a pretty good price for the size of these. A lot of the menu is meaty. The Chipotle Hummus Wrap comes with chicken, but I got it with avocado though. Free of charge, which made sense of course. It also has grilled red onions, lettuce, and roasted peppers. Ended up being a good substitute with avocado. This I could get again because it was pretty cheap and a big lunch. Has quite a few sandwiches to choose from. It has inside and more outside seating. There's ways to get substitutes on sandwiches such as avocado to make it okay for vegans and vegetarians.

Soup and Southwest Chicken Panini - lunch combo.

I came across Dario's on March 5 while wandering through downtown Palatine, enjoying the weather and exploring new restaurants to try. I'm so glad we chose Dario's! The place is tiny, but offers a nice selection of wraps, paninis and salads. I made my selection while I waited to order at the counter, but when I reached the register, there was a sign advertising a 1/2 sandwich and soup lunch special, so I quickly changed my mind. I ordered the Southwest Chicken Panini and a cup of soup. As I wrote this a week later, the soup is not at all memorable, but that sandwich was amazing! It was packed full of flavor and they served me a full-sized sandwich, which was a pleasant surprise. It was a very good lunch, and I'd definitely order it again, but try a different soup. My friend ordered a salad that was also very big and delicious. The only thing I'd change is to not have the food served in takeout containers for those dining in. It's just unnecessary waste.

Seriously amazing Cubano. SO memorably delicious.

Dario's is low key AMAZING. We stumbled on this place looking for a quick lunch. It's been a long time we've been blown away by a food joint let alone a homey sandwich shop next to the Palatine train station, but we're dreaming about the next time we can go back. We had the Cubano and Club. Everything from the freshly sliced seasoned meat, warm soft bread, medley of flavors, to the sweet hardworking staff. The Italian soup with the lunch special was also on point. From these two sandwiches alone, I'm convinced you can't go wrong here. Dario's made us happy. I cannot believe how underrated this place is. Really hope they can open more locations!

Second time back to see if it was just as good as our first...it certainly was! I ordered the veggie panini, hubby got the cubano, both were great!! They also offer salads, wraps & flatbread. Definitely will be a regular spot for us. I believe hours are 11-3.

Cubano and Chopped Chicken Salad

A hidden gem in downtown Palatine! It's a small place serving one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Got the Cubano and the meat was extremely tender and flavorful. It had a perfect balance of richness from the meat and cheese and acidity from the pickles. The bread was crisp yet not hard and had the good crunch. The chopped chicken salad was also good with an extremely large portion size. Had a good amount of chicken and bacon and the avocado a perfect addition. Staff was extremely friendly and I felt like I was treated like family.

Amazing sandwiches. They are also massive. Unless you are a big eater, their sandwiches are good to split or for two meals.

I usually dine at the Buffalo Grove location which I've been…read moreto twice already, and is 10 minutes from my office), but I was dying to try this location since it's also about 10 minutes from home! Anyway, even though I placed an online pickup order, I decided to eat my order inside the restaurant, since there were a lot of available tables (I came in at about 8 pm on Sunday 9/13)! Plus, the whole place looked so nice, clean and relaxing to dine in! My order was accurate and ready on time! Overall, I had a great experience with this location and will definitely be back! I had a Build Your Own Grains Bowl with lamb meatballs and braised lamb, plus almost every dressing, vegetable topping and all the spicy sauces (the only topping I chose not to order were the Kalamata olives, which I'll probably get next time), plus I got the free side pita, 1 full side pita, and the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade (I was going to get the Strawberry Ginger Lemonade, but changed my mind at the restaurant)! The food was so spectacularly deliciously fresh and flavorful! I'm glad I got the extra side pita (I think I should've ordered more -- they're so huge and pillowy soft here! Definitely been get and better than the smaller typical pitas served by Naf Naf Grill and most other Mediterranean type restaurants)! Plus, the drinks here are more imaginative and flavorful (I'm hooked on the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade)! Anyway, like I said-- I do plan on coming back to this restaurant!! Great food, service, ambience and location!!

They were very very nice. Extremely friendly, extremely accommodating. I gave it four stars because this is not a five star restaurant. It's in and out. I've had and performed other reviews which deserve five stars because they are dying in an exceptional service. This doesn't take any way from cava. They have a wonderful selection, excellent Mediterranean food. For something on the go this is better than a hamburger. Just my opinion. I also find that this location is better than a few around the area. They seem to be a lot more friendly, and I believe they cook the food and add in the spices better than other locations. Have already been here a couple times while on the go, and I've had nothing but good things to say. Just another good experience at cava. Thanks again!!

The former JD's Que and Brew has been transformed into a lovely fast casual Greek restaurant with…read morecounter service. There is even a bar are with counter seating and three - five tables (two standard height and three counter height. There is a monstrous screen behind the bar for sports, but they mostly show videos of Greece, but they are mesmerizing videos of a beautiful country. It's a cleaner version of Dengeo's. And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. It is first come first served and you grab your own tables. I've been there on weekends and weeknights and they get pretty packed. The food is flavorful and quite tasty. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too.

Actually has a drive thru so how classy can it be. The restaurant has options for families and groups. Coming in here it looked like a regular casual restaurant where you order at the counter. It's one of those places you get the food brought out. There's also a bar area you can get beer and wine. For certain it's not the average fast casual. It's about $8 for a glass. Best we had was the Roditis, which is a rosé from Corinthia. It's about $8 for the Hummus. Comes with lots of pita bread. The rest of the menu is meaty. Great place located on Rand at Chestnut. It's closed Mondays. There's the hummus for vegetarians.
