Everything here was great - we stopped in with our group of 9 and they were very accommodating and helpful. Mostly we just enjoyed their Happy Hour - you can't beat $4 sleeves of all of their draft beers. Tried "The Shaft" a regional Victoria shot made with cold brew coffee, vodka, baileys and Kaluaha (I believe) and it was delicious! Wonderful afternoon in Victoria made better by the bar staff. Made a couple of visits here in a very hot August '16. First call was later in the evening and our large party occupied one of the big tables inside the pleasant, almost English wooden interior. We didn't eat, just got outside a few beers and watched a bit of the Olympics. Following day we mustered on the outside deck late afternoon. First rate, friendly service from our waitresses, a selection of fine beers and ciders (with plenty of local micros on offer) and some excellent snacks. I can thoroughly recommend the seared tuna. The only thing preventing the fifth star is that the deck is just a little utilitarian. Nothing much they can do about that, being somewhat restricted for space. read more

I actually want to give this place a 4 1/2, but since half stars aren't allowed on Yelp (which is always a bane) I'm settling for 4, because 5 would suggest it's like, the best eh-var, and there's always room for improvement. I had the chicken and brie sandwich, de-lowww-shious. Order it. My hub had pulled pork, he begrudgingly gave me a bite, it was also awesome. They had the Seahawks game on some of the screens, which we Yanks appreciated. And it was really neat to be there on Remembrance Day because a lot of service members came in for lunch in uniform. If you think this is a dive bar, you've clearly never been to a real dive bar before. Darcy's is a tasteful pub with good food and a good, comfortable atmosphere--end of story. This was our first meal in Victoria and it was pretty good. Darcy's Pub attracted us because it was a sunny day and they have outside seating overlooking the waterfront. The beer selection is extensive and I tried the Granville Island Hefeweizen because I had tried it before and liked it. A pint is $6.75 which is reasonable but not cheap either. I had the half portion of pacific cod which was outstanding-I enjoyed the light yet crispy batter with dill. The asian coleslaw was a welcome surprise and it tastes so much better than normal coleslaw. My husband really enjoyed his lamb burger which he had not seen before. We both requested to have the fries with cheddar cheese and gravy as an upcharge and it was worth it - YUM. Salty yes but delicious. The service is pretty good, and as already mentioned, the waitresses are good looking. read more

For some reason Darcy's Pub was one of my favorite "dive-like" bars in Victoria. We stopped in for some beers before heading back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. Of course though, I probably wouldn't come here in the evenings at the risk of it turning into a frat house with cover charges and all. We had great service here and plenty of beers to chose from though. I'd come back here for sure next time I'm in Victoria. read more

Stopped here thirsty and hungry after a long walk and left very satisfied. The pub is in a great spot overlooking the harbour, although unfortunately there is a road disrupting the view a little. The place was pretty quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, but I imagine it's a great spot in the evenings - they have live music 7 days a week. The beer selection was great, and only around $6 for a pint. It went down a treat - I swear they know how to serve beer way better in Victoria than in Vancouver. My boyfriend and I shared some nachos. I think they were about $17 once you added chicken, and they were good value. Huge portion and loaded with chicken and plenty of cheese - just how nachos should be. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Would like to come back to this place in the evening next time I'm in Victoria. read more

The only thing holding me back from giving five stars is that there's a $5 entrance fee on a Friday night. It's a pub, not a club. A regular-priced jug/pitcher is $19, which is great. It serves about 6 pints. On Friday, they ran a special on a couple of the jugs (house brews), but $19 is cheap enough anyway. We didn't try any of the food, so keep that in mind with this review. The music on a Friday was good. There was a cover band that played hits spanning from the '90s to the '10s. Great job, it got all of my friends dancing. Drinks and shots are reasonable priced. Keep in mind that if you're sitting on the outside patio, you can't drink out there after 11pm, you'll have to move inside. read more

This place is amazing. We stopped in for a quick drink and met some great people. The bartender Ryan is awesome and introduced us outsiders to others that he knew we'd have something's in common with. The owner is such a sweet man and the whole atmosphere is so welcoming. We ordered some appetizers and just had a great time. The food is delicious. I truly would recommend this place to anyone visiting or going through town!! Had lunch here on our walk along Warf St...sounded appealing. Had a Cosmo and that was pretty good. We both ordered the STEAK SANDWHICH. Mine was NOT med rare as requested which was annoying but the flavor of the beef with the garlic toast, sautéed mushrooms & fried onion straws were a perfect match!! So lovely. For my birthday, my 86 year old father and I went to Victoria. He'd never been and had come out to Seattle to visit me. We took a day trip to Victoria. He had the chili and I had the beef sandwich with au jus. They have the BEST GLUTEN FREE BUNS on the planet!!! It was delicious! The service wasn't fast, but it was attentive and being right on the water was lovely. We sort of stumbled on this place, but we are certain to return! Plus? They know what 'crispy' fries mean! This was By Far the BEST hamburger I've ever had. It's the Darcy Burger and what makes it special is it's not just hamburger. They mix half ground beef and half ground pork. Has a nice peppery flavor. I had the white cheddar and sauteed mushrooms added. It was phenominal. My boyfriend had the Ruben and he really liked that too! It was nice sitting outside and listening to the musicians play too. I will certainly go back my next visit. Plus the view is wonderful! read more

This is the place to be on a Saturday evening in Victoria! I came late afternoon but enjoyed the scene that I stayed several hours and tried a few of their beers on tap. Later that night a band started playing and I was glad to avoid the cover charge! It has a wall of windows that face west, so there was a relaxed, happy feeling to the place. What a great place to grab a bite & a pint! The food was definitely different than most pub foods, but they did have some traditional food fare. My love & myself started with soups because it was a bit on the chilly side being right off of the water. Cream of mushroom which I'm not a fan of was great, it had a lil bit of dumplings in them to give a great texture to the soup (my love). The spicy chicken & barley soup it was great, the spice was right on, the veggies was great. The Baby back rib fingers - wait for it, wait for it.... Oh my they were a great portion I had the traditional BBQ sauce perfect! My love had the spicy tuna lettuce wraps - it was perfectly seasoned and had a great amount of spice not overpowering. There was this great blend of mango salsa, and wonton crispies (my love! The chipotle steak wrap was something that I had never tasted or seen before on a menu, it reminded me of a gyro but the goat cheese and cilantro lime sour cream was completely different than tzatziki sauce. read more

Darcy's is worth a visit if you are in Victoria and in the mood for a pub. There are a couple of better pubs, but Darcy's is still a good place. Good selection of beer and the mixed drinks are poured fairly. Food was quite good and they have a few interesting items (the coconut-curry-lentil bean soup is a good example). The atmosphere is a bit more party-rock-n-roll than it is pub. Service was good and our waitress was attentive. We would go back but still like a couple of the other pubs better. read more
