Food was good. Our server was nice and attentive. The pub was decent with good atmosphere. We sat outside and someone decided to light up some cannabis. The staff took care of that really quickly and very appropriately. The person was a little bit inebriated. Everything was good except the bathrooms. The ladies room was under repair and they did provide an alternative. The men's bathroom was just not maintained meaning a little dirty. Again, not disgusting or unusable, just needed to be cleaned. read more

The menu online is not current, we had to wait to be seated even though there was ample open seating. We sat down and a few people in our party went to the restroom and they said you have 1 min to order happy hour so half our party missed out. The portions were decent sized. The taste was so so, nothing that I would return for. My Mom got the steak tacos and the meat was extremely tough. This was my second time to Darcy's and the first time I am leaving a review. The first time was in 2019 and the experience was meh enough that we almost didn't include it this time in our pub crawl plans. But have to say this time was MUCH better. Love sitting on the deck outside but it was quite breezy so we had to move a bit before we found the right spot. They had a decent Chardonnay for me and hubby found a dark ale that worked. We originally had planned to order the nachos, but at $32 (before adding protein) we figured it was just going to be too much food...and, even with the exchange rate, that's a LOT for nachos. So instead, we opted for the potstickers. And...oh MY! So glad we did. They were serious good. So good we ordered a second round of them. And when I asked for a little extra pickled ginger, the waitstaff was super accommodating. And, both of them had a grand sense of humor! So new assessment: Darcy's was a worthy spot and it will remain on the 'go visit here" list when we are in Victoria! read more

We are visiting Victoria and had dinner and drinks at Darcy's. The food was great, the drinks were delicious and our server was on it!! She was fantastic. She was the only server working as well which was even more impressive how attentive she was. We were also delighted to see they have live music. That kept us around longer than we anticipated. Server was pleasant but absent much of the time meaning refills on drinks were hard to get. Ni had fish and chips and the batter while a little greasy was amazingly crispy. The "chip" were properly seasoned and crispy on the outside soft on the inside which in my take was near perfect. Sure it's in the touristy waterfront area of Victoria, but Darcy's had really good food, great drinks and happy hour specials, and friendly and attentive waitstaff, all with a view. What's not to like?? I wanted so badly to get back there for another guava jalapeno margarita before we left town, but the stars did not line up. I'm still dreaming of it, which is telling. Probably the best cocktail I had in Vic. Aperol spritz was also very refreshing. Recommend the Caesar salad which was so fresh and perfectly dressed. My husband really enjoyed the sesame tofu. The first impression I got about this place was meh! On Summer time, we were wandering along the waterfront, when we saw a couple of empty seats at the terrace. After trying to fight for a sunny spot without luck, that seemed like a meant to be kind of thing. We ordered calamari and a couple of "electric unicorns". The calamari was good, but the new beer (for us) was the star of that episode. The service was lousy, like in all those trendy-touristy vacation spots. The terrace was good for people watching, not good for flirting, and kind of dangerous, sunny/cloudy with a chance of being pooped (Victoria has won nicknames such as Birdtoria&Shittoria...). The rest of the several times I was there, was to party... like a rock star. During night, passing 12:00 o'clock, an ancient curse takes place. The spirits in the posters of Jimmy Hendrix and company, possess the whole crowd. Body's shaking, excitation screams, hunting eyes, open mouths, good tunes, crazy dancers. A good place to pick up drunk ladies tired of their husbands (threesome propositions included). Maybe it wouldn't be appealing for those not spirited. Cheers! read more

Darcy's is one of my favourite spots to go when I go back to Victoria. I've come here a few times for lunch on the patio since it has a gorgeous view of the water, but most of my experiences are in the later evenings when this place turns more into a lively bar. They always have a live band that keeps the crowd jumping and dancing all night, so its always super high energy here in the evenings which I love. The bar is always packed and busy but he bartenders are well equipped and prepared to handle the large crowds of people. Drinks are cheaper than a lot of the other bars in downtown Victoria from what I've found, which is another reason my friends and I always came back. Shoutout to Erik who always takes care of us! **This review doesn't include food or drinks** I am rating it 3 to not skew the results it any one direction, but my husband and I walked past this pub this afternoon and wanted to grab lunch. Neither the hostess nor any other staff member we saw was wearing a mask. We were told we could pick any table, and so we did, not thinking about it until after that they said that before sanitizing it. The final blow was when the hostess/server came over to tell us about how to scan the QR code and literally leaned so her face was maybe a foot and a half away -- sans mask. We felt way too uncomfortable at the sheer lack of care that we're in the midst of a pandemic. It felt as if nothing had changed there. Don't think I'll be returning until COVID is over. read more

Sitting here eating now. This was a mistake. I guess it is a pub but the girls could not be more exposed than what you would see at a strip club. Cocktails were okay. Cheese dip was ice cold and the chips had good flavor but were so salty I couldn't eat them. Ordered the chicken sandwich with no lettuce and of course it came with lettuce. Onion rings were okay. Any extra sauce is $1.50 seriously. And they were terrible. So we didn't eat them. Chicken tacos were just okay. Nothing to write home about. Nice view of the harbor is about all I can say that is good about this place. read more

I went in search of sunshine, a snack and a beer on a Wednesday afternoon and Darcy's jumped out at me! They have a decent sized patio, but what I loved most was that they have a "bar" facing the street and the water. I was able to pull up a seat in the sunshine and done some people watching while enjoying the view of the water. I ordered the tuna tacos, and they blew my mind. There were peaches and crispy wonton in there as well, and 2 decent sized tacos were 8 bucks. I thought that was totally reasonable! I paired it with a nice peach pale ale, and was very happy with my wee meal. The server was friendly and great at her job, and you can't beat that patio. The inside was okay- there was a stage for live music and what looked like plenty of seating. The worst thing- the bathrooms suuuuck. They are very dark and very tiny. So small that you will have trouble closing the stall door behind you- you practically need to climb on the toilet. But how much time do we really spend in the bathroom anyway? read more

Well if the manager wasn't the friendliest guy in all of Victoria! We sat at the bar. Enjoyed the prawn tacos and a lager...I thought it was a house lager but maybe not. Do they brew here? We talked about local culture (including the new holiday Family Day, Monday after Super Bowl) & attractions, beer and wine, travel, weather and the culture of the bar. This was a lunchishtime meal but he said the place gets nuts in the evenings with live music and games on tv. He cut up probably 100 limes and lemons while we sat & ate. And! He gifted me a birthday shot. A perfect stranger! Try The SHAFT. Espresso, Kahlua, Bailey's and vodka in a shot over ice with a straw. Dayum that was tasty! I would def grab a drink at Darcy's. Very rude waitress and doorman... I mean "very". Cod was over cooked. Got the neighbor's food first. This is their 'mocktail of a margarita'. I thought it was a Caesar. Bruschetta excellent, rest of it just bad and cold. She thought she was something though. And she wasn't. Too her defense, not a lot of wait staff to count on for help. Mgr just talked to customers. Great little patio overlooking the water!! Nice spot to have a cold bevy on a sunny afternoon. The patio was busy on the day we were here. The service was good though, no long waits for drinks or food. My boyfriend had a caesar to drink and said it wasn't the best he's had. I had a beer, it was as good as I expected. We shared a chicken pizza and it was quite delicious. Great size appetizer for 2, if you're not too hungry. I'd definitely come back here when strolling down around the waterfront. read more

Spent half my summer here studying French (weird, I know) and Darcy's was our go to place every Friday for a great time. They had an amazing live band and a well stocked bar. Lots of seating inside and a small dance floor to break a few moves as well. Get here before 9 and avoid paying the $5 cover. Never got the chance to try the food here but the drink options were great! Fast and friendly service as well. Venue is also clean and not like your dingy dive bars. So... I've been sitting on this review for about a year. It's been saved and I stare at it not knowing what to write. It makes me angry. I usually make notes in my saved drafts as to what I want to talk about but all I have is "The girls". So I guess that's the big selling point. "The girls" are smoking hot and know a lot about beer. So that probably adds to the hot-o-meter. The food is decent pub food ans the space is much larger than expected. Lots of traditional dark wood and a handful of the necessary flat screen TVs. What's really nice about this place is you can see the sun set over the water if you sit near the window and aren't distracted by "The girls". Kinda sucks that you need to pay cover in the evenings for a pub but I guess they're charging because of "The girls" and that's what draws the fellas to this watering hole. Or maybe it's because they have a band at night. Whatever it is come early, skip cover, eat, drink, then watch "The girls" dance. Feels great to get this pestering review off my plate. I never want to see a saved review with just "The girls" again... or at least until nextweek. Overall, the pints are cheap and the selection is vast. Service is quick and knowledgeable. If you get in early enough for a meal, the food is on par for pub fare (it just sounds more unique and appetizing then it really is), and a good selection of beers. The service is quick, and the girls are generally attractive, and very personable. If you're going a little later, there is live music after 10 pm, $5 cover for those of you who care, and you can grease the bouncer if you choose to opt out of the line that usually never lasts longer then 30 min.; however, be forewarned, some of them are not familiar with the word gratuity, so you may need to dumb it down to "I'll give you money to go in right now". The band plays various covers on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the some random? bands throughout the week that are pretty good; the service at the bar is quick, and the bar tenders even engage in some banter. The waitresses and bus girls get snappy and pushy, probably due to the stubborn drunks who choose to stand in the service lane, or spend the evening complimenting their earrings that resemble fly fishing tackle. The crowd tends to be a bit older (mid 20's plus) with a few younger girls, sort of a sausage festival, so all the single ladies... ;) (the wink is of an invitational nature) Generally, a good place to grab grub, a few beers, and spend the evening with the guys. I had a pint of Blue Buck (always a safe choice!) and we shared a huge bowl of mac and cheese WITH BROCCOLI IN IT. What the fuck? I misjudged you Darcy's.
