So this is a review for my son's haircut. It was amazing! She didn't balk at a precision cut on a 3 year old and he literally gets compliments on his hair everywhere he goes. Plus the cut in part makes styling so easy on me that he looks cooler than me 90% of the time we go out. Can't wait for his next cut! read more

Krystal is amazing!!! I had been growing my hair out for about a year with very little maintenance. I had wedding coming up and decided that I couldn't show up looking like the GEICO caveman so I did some Yelp homework and chose "Dapper in a day " and am very happy I did. Her scheduling app was very simple she even went out of her way to see me at 9:00 AM and the salon technically doesn't even open till 10. Since it was my first visit with her I was showing up as a very long haired blank canvas. She gave some recommendations and since I didn't have very many expectations I told her to do her thing. She buzzed and snipped away masterfully while we had effortless stimulating conversation. The end result was mind blowing. I went in looking like a homeless transient and left looking like a wall street businessman, minus the douchiness. Thank you so much for everything Krystal. read more

Krystal is the best. I have been going to her for about 18 months. The conversation is fun, and her attention to detail never wavers while her personality shines throughout. Because a hair cut is more than just a great look, right guys? Simply put, there are a ton of trendy places to get your hair cut in this town. But I am not leaving her anytime soon. I can't recommend her enough, especially if you want to freshen your look. My hair is a consistent complement-receiver and I have no one else to thank but her! read more

Let me put it this way, Krystal Usher used to work about a block from my office in San Diego, she moved away to a Salon 15 minutes driving distance, it was a no brainer to follow her!!! The first time she cut my hair, I was amazed, not bc it looked absolutely fantastic, but it was exactly what I wanted. She listens, pays attention to how you want the cut to look, and even takes notes if its something unique. She cut my hair for over a year before I had to skip town to Atlanta. She made sure to give me a copy of her notes so the next person knows how its done! That's service. And I now have an awesome friend to boot! I'd fly back to San Diego just for a haircut, and maybe a Cali-burrito :) read more

Krystal is awesome! Been coming here since I moved to San Diego from Portland Oregon 5 months ago. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find someone as good as Krystal on my first try in San Diego. She is professional, easy to talk to, and delivers a great product every time. She definitely wont forget your cut either because she meticulously keeps track of your latest requests so your hair cut is the same... or different whenever you want it. She is also very good with handling situations where you may not know what you want and you just want someone to make you look great. Can't recommend Krystal enough! read more

If you're looking for not only a great haircut, but a great experience as well, look no further!!! This place is awesome! Krystal has cut my hair the last 4 times now and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm not the easiest of clients lol since I'm always having to come in last minute to get a trim or cut before an audition. She's always accomadating, and makes sure that I don't leave until I am completely happy with the cut. She spends time with her clients and has a very relaxing, soothing voice to put you right at ease. You're in good hands with this one!!!! read more

I never cared for haircuts, I would go to fantastic Sams 3 times a year. After listening to a friend's recommendation, I found myself in the steady and competent hands of Krystal. I didn't even know what kind of haircut to get but after some analysis, Krystal made a suggestion and started cutting. I couldn't have asked for a better haircut! Needless to say, I won't be getting haircuts from anyone else! Krystal has a great sense of style, knows a lot about hair and the best part is she's a great listener! If you're thinking about getting a haircut from her, do it. You won't regret it. read more

Krystal and I have known each other for many years now, and she cuts both my hair and my husband's hair. When it was time for us to book a wedding hairstylist for myself and my bridal party, it was a no-brainer to have Krys come and style us all beautifully. She even styled my mother's hair and my SIL's hairstyles for the big day. After all of the women's hair was done she actually trekked across the wedding site and not only styled my husband's hair but gave him a full on trim so he looked as dapper as possible - and felt extra stylish. She truly is an amazing person, and she is such a pleasure to be around! I highly recommend her for anything from a trim to a full on wedding hairstyle, and beyond!!! read more

For the longest time I was a Super Cuts haircut guy, but last year I tried out Dapper. Simply put, I won't have anyone else cut my hair again until either Krystal or I move from San Diego. Today I actually got a free haircut because I referred two friends. Krystal does a truly professional, quality and stylish haircut. She has skills with different hair types as well, as several of my friends get "dappered in a day". I'd recommend her services to anyone I know that wants an affordable great looking cut. read more

Krystal is amazing. I highly recommend her. Super friendly, fun, and really really good. As I guy I'm pretty picky with who cuts my hair so it's always hard to find the right Stylest. Krystal does an awesome job every time. I've been going to her for over a year now and always will. :) read more

It's always hard finding a good quality barber especially if you're new to the area or are looking for something fresh to do with your hair. Thankfully your search ends here because Krystal is the greatest! I knew my search was done after my very first cut with her... she not only tamed the beast that is my hair but gave me a look and style above and beyond what I could have imagined. I pushed the envelope with my quirky requests every new cut and every time Krystal delivered without exception! Brand new to SD from Texas and only one stylist had ever touched my son's hair so my search to find the right person was intense. Happy to say Krystal Usher nailed it and made my little family feel welcomed and comfortable. We will definitely be back! Nice and convenient location, ample parking and excellent service! read more

I've been going to barbers for the past few years, trying out different shops looking to find someone who knew what they were doing. There were some decent cuts in there, but nothing great. I started wondering if a salon cut might be a better option, but then sat back and did exactly nothing with this thought for like a year because let's face it I'm lazy and change is scary and salons are expensive and they're for ladies and my friends will judge me and I probably won't get a good cut and a thousand other reasons. But here's the thing, one day I was looking up men's hair cuts in San Diego and I saw Dapper in A Day and it seemed like the perfect bridge between salon and barber. So you know what I did you guys? I walked across that bridge. And you know what I found on the other side? The best GD hair cut I've had in a very long time. Krystal takes time to figure out what you're looking for. In my case, I couldn't really articulate it very well but just sighed a lot and gestured with frustration at my stick-up-y cowlick. She talked me through her ideas and proceeded to give me a seriously great cut. My barber days are over, friends, and I think maybe yours should be too. If you're ready to leave the hard part, super tight fade, slicked back 50s look behind and get a cut that's unique, and that actually suits your hair type and face shape, then step up and give Dapper in a Day a try. Don't be like me. Don't wait so long. You're better than that. read more

Don't go to Krystal unless you want women chasing you down the street and asking for your phone number. I'm engaged so it's not welcome. It's seriously a problem. Stay away!! But then again, because of my haircut with her and the confidence it gave me, I met my future wife... read more

Just got a great hair cut from Krystal. I have longer hair, not the quick buzz. I was happy when she listened to what I was looking for and I actually got it. To be honest this is the first good hair cut I've had in years so I'll defiantly be going back in a couple months. Good price and good cut! read more

If you're tired of searching for that perfect haircut or the best haircut of a lifetime, then your search is over. Go to SWEET SALON in Ocean Beach (OB) San Diego on Bacon St. KRYSTAL USHER worked her magic and provided me with an awesome cut (3rd time). She also offered to trim my mustache and beard. The olde saying holds true "you get what you pay for"!!! After all it's only taken me 11 years to find KRYSTAL @ SWEET SALON since moving to San Diego in 2005. THANKS AGAIN KRYSTAL!!! I will be back soon. TIMBO read more

I get a better haircut from Krystal than any other place I've been, without question. I've been going to her to get my hair cut for about half a year. When I first entered Sweet Salon, out of which Krystal operates Dapper In A Day, I asked the girl at the counter for a stylist who could give my boring head of hair some actual style; essentially, I wanted a new haircut chosen for me. She set me up with Krystal. Every time I go, I walk away looking and feeling happier and more confident. To be sure, Krystal is highly skilled at what she does. And to top it off, she's incredibly sweet and friendly! No one can resist her charm. Highly recommended. read more

I've got really long hair and finding someone to cut/style it had proven to be quite difficult until I started going to Krystal. Going on about two years now, I couldn't be happier. She's awesome and makes life a lot less stressful knowing your hair is in good hands! read more

I have had two haircuts with Krystal, and I can confidently say that they were the best two haircuts I've ever had. Tried multiple barber shops in San Diego, and am so glad I finally found the one!Usually it takes a few days for a haircut to "grow in" to the point where I like how it looks. Not the case with Krystal. She makes you dapper the second you leave her chair. Well worth the buck! read more

When I moved to San Diego I had no idea of where to go for a good hair cut. I am so glad I found Krystal. At the first appointment she could tell that I was not used to the caliber of service that she provides. She made some recommendations on the exact styling of my hair and the next time I went in she discussed what I liked and didn't like about what she had done. I have been going to Krystal for several years now and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great cut! read more
