Just a quick lunch here - reasonably priced smørrebrød and some other higher end dishes - I saw several people devouring a plate of pork loin and potatoes in brown gravy, which looked good, but was more than I wanted. I ended up with the chicken salad, which, like another kind I've had, tends to be less sweet and more savory than the american variety - remove things like the grapes and sub in mushrooms. It's good, but if you're looking for the "classic" American chicken salad (or at least, the recipe my mother makes) with grapes and celery, and chicken, maybe some slivered almonds or pecan pieces, that's not what you'll get. Mine came on a nice bed of greens as well. It might be had a touch too much mayo, but nothing to really complaint about.
They have a nice outdoor seating area, like many of the cafes here, so people watching is top notch. I didn't try my PIN-less credit card, but the waiter seemed optimistic it would work. In the end I deferred the restaurant's 4% foreign card fee (which would have been on top of my card's 3% foreign transaction fee) and paid cash. read more
