Love the work Dan did on my husband's leather wing chair and my 1950's office chair. He helped us out picking out the right colors to match the existing furniture for the room and removed all the old worn out leather, replaced the cushions and made them much more comfortable than they ever were. My sister brought our father's old worn out favorite chair to Dan. He removed the old leather and stuffing leaving the wooden frame intact. He then put new leather and stuffing on the chair. It looks brand new and is just as comfortable before the makeover. Excellent work! read more

I'm so happy with the work Dan did for me. I had an old chair that had lost its mojo. Dan got it's mojo back and then some. I love my old Naugahyde library chair but a big person sprung the springs and the webbing gave way and well, you know the rest. Dan brought it back to life and made me happy too! Then... I had this crazy thing happen. I saw an old 60's chaise lounge at an estate sale. I had to have it but boy, was it ugly! Now, this thing was ridiculously big and I was almost embarrassed that I gave in to that crazy "gotta have it"15-second urge. I'd never done anything quite like this mostly because I just didn't have the expendable income or the inclination but... I did. Because of its large size, Dan made a special trip to assess it. Now he could have made comments like, "why would anyone want that monstrosity?" or "what was that lady thinking?" but he didn't. He was all about the positive energy vibe. He helped me find just the right material by sending stacks of upholstery sample books home with me. He was patient. He was encouraging. He became my upholstery shrink. When I finally decided on the perfect material, he assured me that it would be right (for me). It was and is. His workmanship is meticulous. He has an eye for detail and his work is beautiful. He saw the fun in this piece of furniture and made me a happy, crazy lady. I love it. But that's not all. I had one more thing to do... to get rid of my sweet Mother's dated decor. Now I love my Mom, but I couldn't abide the turquoise and coral any longer. It screamed the 70's at me and that just wasn't my favorite decade. Too much teenage angst and all that. Anyway, Dan took my great Aunt Lois' chair and turned it once again, into a beautiful chair. He set the print design thoughtfully and added decorative tacks like they did during the chair's heyday. Then... he made an extra deluxe wood box seat for those grand derrieres that need a comfortable place to light. He was lightning quick with his work every time. Oh my... his work is special. I can't recommend Dan's Upholstery high enough. Top notch craftsmanship. Top notch service and he has a lovely golden lab to cuddle when you drop off your furniture. We had a large seat cover reupholstered. Dan makes his own 52 inch zip (that's a hard find) and not only did we receive the finished seat cover 4 hours later (no, really)....it was beautifully piped around the edges and now sits proudly in our playroom. I located Dan's Upholstery through YELP and took my 30 year old office chair to get an estimate on the cost to reupholster. Dan provided great service in identifying a beautiful leather that is a perfect match to the original, except that the new leather is better than the original material! Dan gave me a projected date he could start the job and I dropped the chair off on Friday morning and true to his word, Dan called me on Sunday to say the job was done. All I could say when I first saw the chair was "WOW!" The work that Dan did to restore the chair exceeded my expectations. Such amazing & quality upholstery at a reasonable price. Dan saved my husbands favorite leather chair. The seat was well worn and I thought it was beyond repair. We conversed over the phone and agreed to replace the seat area with fabric and replace the stuffing. I purchased the fabric elsewhere, not knowing he had an amazing amount of fabrics to choose from in stock at his little shop. I live in the mountains and drove down to Redlands and left the cushion with him. He not only did an excellent job with the seat cushion, but also created two matching pillows to tie it all together.
