We had them cut cushions and cover them to go on top of pallets and I couldn't have been happier. They were so so well made. We're now ready for more outdoor furniture to get new cushion covers and they'll be my next call tomorrow. Everything was made to fit perfectly, finished on time and no "mark ups" after the fact. The price was a little less than you'd pay if you threw it away and tried to buy new ...... except the older stuff was always more sturdy and thicker and my preference is always to keep the good stuff not replace with cheap garbage. Cris Upholstery makes that possible and keeps a little less out of the landfills. If you do need to replace cushions they can get quality stuff for you. They're just so good. Cris is great to work with. I found him via Yelp and went to his shop to look at material for some projects I was interested in talking to him about. This is definitely a situation of you can't judge a book by its cover. The shop isn't set up or made to be a "public" shop, it's a workshop. Nothing fancy or attractive about it but don't be put off by it. Cris knows what he is doing and the three chairs I had upholstered, which were original mid century chairs, were done quickly, were well done and for a reasonable price. I also enjoyed working with him. He is knowledgeable, personable and on time. We will have other items upholstered as well. You can also buy your own material and have him use it. So I needed 7 dinning room chair seats re-upholstered. These seats were 13+ years old and, as I found out along the way, were "refurbished" leather. Nonetheless, they were cracking badly and had to be replaced. I did a YELP search and ended up "talking" to 7 upholstering companies as far away as Victorville, Glendale and Cathedral City. I live in Yucaipa so distance/convenience was definitely as factor. With that said I found "Cris Upholstery" in Yucaipa, about 10 minutes from my house. I went to his location yesterday, 12/20, showing him one of my chair seats and he gave me great advice and thereafter quoted me a price. I agreed to that quote on the spot. He asked me did I have all the seats with me and my answer was not, I only brought one for the quote. After he gave me the quote and told me if I could bring in the other 6 seats he could have them for me tomorrow, the next day, Saturday 12/21. So I drove back to my home, took off the seats to these chairs, and returned them to Cris. Today at 1 PM I got a call that they were ready. Shortly thereafter I once again went to Cris's location and picked up the 7 seats. WOW, let me repeat that...WOW. They were fabulous! They looked better than leather, and had all new padding. Bottom line: Excellent service, Excellent final product, VERY good price, and the time to complete the project and return it to me...FANTASTIC, less than 12 hours (but I do live close to his location). The chair has always leaned somewhat to the right, in addition to the loose left arm, since I purchased my RV Coach in 2016. Cris' Upholstery fixed the arm but the chair still seemed to lean right. I think I know why, as the wood base has cracked so badly it is now unusable. I realize now that the base was always cracked a little and that caused the chair to lean. Wish they would've caught that and done a repair when it has still doable but don't blame them for the broken base. I contacted Cris in July and he told me he did not have access to a replacement base but he know a carpenter that could fabricate one but was very busy and couldn't get to it till October. I told Cris that I would wait as the cost to replace the chair would be very expensive. I called today to touch bases and update timelines and was told that there was no way they could repair the chair and there was nothing they could do for me. I decided to reach out to people in the RV industry and an old vendor from years ago referred me to a shop in Riverside. They made a phone call to the manufacturer and what do you know, they have the part and I ordered it today. I wish Cris' Upholstery would have been honest and upfront and tell me they couldn't do the repair instead of making a commitment for something they could not or would not follow up on. Years of Customer Service taught me that you never tell a customer something that you can't make good on. read more
