Like everyone else, we went after being at a waterpark. It was a good, quick dinner, and we would go back if in the area again. There's a checker board you can play if you have to wait for seating, and a deck of cards on the table which made the wait time for food go by quick. The only thing I don't recommend is the kid's penne Mac & Cheese. My daughter is picky and didn't like it, my husband and I also tried it and neither of us liked it. The kids flat bread is personal size with 4 slices; the medium calzone is huge; and the spinach pasta was plentiful. The bread they rice with the side salad and pastas was so tasty and served hot! We did this pizza carry out while staying at Kalahari. It was a great pizza. We got this thick crust which was a unique experience from other pizza places. We also got a salad which wasn't great. This was pretty darn good! We visited this restaurant for lunch after staying at Kalahari in Ohio. HUGE menu! There were nine in our group (5 adults and 4 kids) yet everyone found something the loved. We ordered two of the bread and sauces for the table and the bread was huge and really good! Couple of the kids had grilled cheese which was on good crusty bread the size of two normal bread pieces. Couple of the kids had the kids flatbread pizzas which they loved. Adults had thin crust pizza, fettuccine alfredo and Stromboli. Portions were large and we brought home enough for dinner that night. Walked out of 2 other restaurants before we came here and sooooo glad we did! We were staying at Kalahari and were sick of their low quality food and wanted something better for my birthday. I got the 1/2 portion of chicken parm, my son got a chicken parm melt and my other son and his friend got pizza. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and hot and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! Wish we had one closer to home. This is probably the best restaraunt I've been to in a long time... The coffe is wonderful, the bread sticks are homemade, soft, covered with Parnassian cheese... And delicious. When we got to the restaurant I was told they only had a "low gluten menu" (which only had 3 options on it). As a celiac, "a low gluten menu" isn't an option. They have a limited selection of gluten-free items on their menu. they do serve gluten-free pizza but it's an 11 inch pizza and all of the items are quite pricey for the portion size. I ordered the blackened Buffalo chicken tenders and the chicken tenders them selves were very small. The plate also had two or three celery sticks and triangles of gluten-free bread which looked like a frozen (not made by them) pizza crust cut into wedges and brushed with olive oil and garlic or spices. And the price was $9.99. My Wife ordered linguine Alfredo which was not gluten-free and the portion size on that was Ok. I would not go out of my way to eat at this restaurant again. read more

I wanted to write another review, because I revisited Danny Boys, and plan to continue going. I tried a couple of new items and wanted to review them. I tried the oven baked turkey reuben melt, and a new citrus salad that was on the menu. I enjoyed the reuben, although I thought it could use a little more coleslaw. They put coleslaw instead of sauerkraut on theirs, which I actually enjoyed. I asked the waitress about the chicken citrus salad and she said that it had a lot of berries (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries etc.) and that it looked delicious, although she had not tried it yet. It really didn't have those things, with the exception of strawberries, but it was okay. I personally think it tastes similar, but not quite as good as the DB's Bistro salad, and I was confused as to why it is called citrus; maybe the dressing had a little citrus fruit in it? I'm not sure. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A member of our party was really in the mood for a BBQ "woogie", which they didn't have on the menu, so they put one together just for her. I tried it and it tasted great. We had the wonderful fluffy delicious bread sticks again, as well as the garlic cheese bread. Everything was wonderful and I think that everyone took home leftovers! We had two toddlers with us and both ordered the children's spaghetti and neither would eat it, but that could just be because they were kids being kids. Stayed near by two years ago and got carry out. Enjoyed the pizza then. Decided to dine in with another family and enjoyed it that much better. Food was fantastic! Chicago Style deep dish was a great pizza for my wife and I. Appetizer cheese garlic bread was awesome too. Out children loved their food as well. They don't look anything like a stick but they are HUGE and pillowy soft. The leftovers will be great when we're on the road. My son had the Sinatra sub, which he said was good but not quite like an Italian hoagie. I think he was expecting oil and vinegar instead of mayo. It's likely he didn't read the description. He liked it but only ate half because it was quite large and he went crazy on the breadsticks. I had the lemon asparagus salad. I shouldn't have ordered the full size, but it was tasty. The asparagus was fantastic, but there could have been fewer sunflower seeds (sounds like a weird combo but it worked). It came with two more breadsticks. Excellent service. The food amount was huge for the price! Full bar, and comfortable seating. Loved the card games for the kids, and the tic tac toe which came in handy for over tired boys of 9 years old! Pizza was fabulous, boys had ribs, shared their Tuesday Rib night and was just amazing. I had the BLT pie, which is a BLT folded in half, IT WAS Huge!!! Then I tried it with peanut butter, suggested by the waitress. Couldn't get any better! Place gets busy we noticed any time after 6! So get there early, and there is a lot of seating, just one bathroom was the downfall. Definitely be back for more! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into Danny Boys. The place is warm and friendly, with decor that somewhat reminds you of an Italian Bennigan's. That actually doesn't bother me - I found it welcoming. Wait staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to serve us. I ended up ordering a "Woogie" sandwich (basically a calzone), breadsticks, and a side salad. The salad was underwhelming, but the breadsticks were out of this world! They were freshly baked, perfectly seasoned, and served warm. The "Woogie" itself was extremely good - cheese was melted consistently, flavors were balanced. I was honestly surprised that a calzone could taste that good! We declined dessert (though I'm second guessing that now). Bar selection was pretty good - beer list was surprisingly diverse. This isn't a 5-star restaurant with a celebrity chef. But it is a solid, tasty, friendly neighborhood joint that I will absolutely return to when I'm next in town. read more

One of the waitresses was so sweet to let my group dine in although we had just ordered and they were 12 mins from closing. What they didn't know was that we were traveling on our way back from a funeral and we needed to eat and Danny Boys were the only ones open on our way home. I got their rice bowl with chicken. It was dripping with butter. I tried to eat what was not soaked in butter too much. It tasted okay. It wasn't one of their normal items, so I shouldn't have ordered it. The salad was HUGE - couldn't finish it. Pretty tasty, too. My dad seemed happy with his meatball sub. The waitresses were extremely helpful, especially because I need to eat gluten-free because of allergies. They have a menu called "low gluten" that is actually gluten-free, but they can't guarantee there won't be any cross-contamination. I know it's exactly the same as any other gluten-free menu, but calling it "low gluten" freaked me out and I didn't order from it. They did tell me that they make the Italian dressing in the restaurant and there's no gluten in it. I got that on a chicken salad without cheese and it was a pretty good dinner. We ordered a family pizza, pierogi dinner, and cheesecake. Total around $60. We were staying at a hotel close by. The pizza was soggy and hardly had any toppings. Pierogi's were ok but not outstanding. Cheesecake was horrible and tasted like it had been in the cooler forever. They forgot to add utensils so we ended up eating the pierogies with our fingers. No napkins were added either. Until they can get things figured out I would not recommend this place. Pizza was the worst I've had in a long time, Very soggy and not flavorful. Food was very good and the servers were good too. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because they double booked us with another party on their private/party room. When we got there, they wanted us to share the room with another large party that was full of 5 year olds and we had teenagers. Then when we said we'd take a few large tables in the regular part of the restaurant, the manager was a real jerk and wouldn't let us push tables together so our party could sit together. This was all after THEY screwed up the party room reservations! It's too bad for the restaurant, they just need a better and nicer manager. read more

I was looking for a non-chain restaurant and Danny Boys was recommend by the hotel desk. I had their build your own pizza (thin crust) and I can honestly say it was some of the best pizza I've had. I dined in the bar area. The service was great. Friendly and attentive. I was just passing thru the area and staying by the Turnpike but I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cedar Point or Kalahari since it's between the two attractions. read more

Excellent!! Had dinner last night with two 17 year olds. They each ordered the "Taco Foldover" and to use their words it was MAJESTIC!! They could only finish half of it and these boys have BIG appetites! It tasted great too! My husband had the ribs and was very well pleased! I had a salad and it was fresh and good. I would have preferred less iceberg lettuce and more other greats but it was still good. We ordered breadsticks and they were not the box variety. The were awesome, yeast dough, crispy on outside, soft inside. Both my salad and the Ribs came with scrumptious homemade rolls with a great combo of textures!
