We were headed to Hope to meet family. Found Dannie's online. Reservations are required but they had room for 2 that night. Completely chose this place for it's uniqueness. We were not disappointed. It is OUT IN THE COUNTRY. Drive in was a little sketchy but we never heard banjoes. Super eclectic remodeled old barn. Staff was very welcoming and we actually visited with the owners for a while. Scallops for appetizer followed by Crab Cakes and Redfish with Crawfish Etouffe on top. Saved room for Creme Brulee. Did not get to try the cheesecake Every item was top notch. Next time we will have to try the beef side of the menu, or maybe the lamb? Well worth the extra driving. read more

You must have a reservation to eat here! But you should get you one of those the next time you are around Hope, Arkansas! This place is one of "those" places. They look like it won't be any good, if you can even find it in the first place. But I promise you won't be disappointed. I missed talking pics of our dinner for to a phone call. But I took pics of dessert! This was or 2nd trip to Dannie's Cafe. It is so good. I recommend the pork chop. And if you like coffee ... get coffee. It comes to your table in a French press coffee pot. Mmmm. I would go just for coffee if you didn't need a reservation. Lol! But please ... And I can't stress this enough. If you make a reservation for 10 ...bring 10 people. They are a very small place and have to plan their dinner service according to the reservations. I have had the filet Oscar style and I wanted to lick my plate afterwards but I didn't because I'm a lady. You don't have to dress up because the café is in a barn shaped building but don't worry the food isn't barn food. Its 5 star food. Yes! In Hope Arkansas!! Do it make the reservation!! read more

This is an out of the way restaurant run by a NYC trained chef who is semi retired and training new chefs. Incredible meal! I had the Red Snapper because it was a Friday during Lent. The Rack of Lamb looked amazing. Steaks were large with nothing left behind! It is worth the drive from Texarkana if you consider yourself a serious foodie! Really, really, great food! Wife and I went for brunch Sunday morning. We split the carmelized french toast with a side of french potatoes as an appetizer. They were both amazing. Then we ordered entrees. She ordered the flat iron steak and I ordered the redfish covered in crawfish etouffee. Really tremendous! It's a small little place...maybe 30 seats max. We had tried to get a reservation the night prior but they were booked...so be sure to call ahead. We will definitely be back!! read more

My husband and I ate here a few months ago. The food was delightful! However, if you don't have a reservation, you may end up with a table in not quite a desirable area. The ambience was a little less than what we were expecting. Although the food was excellent, the drive and atmosphere will keep us from going back. Traveling from Houston to Chicago with our kids and dog we thought we'd be stuck with fast food. When I came across the place on Yelp I called to see if they were dog friendly on their patio and they are! This is such a beautiful and unique place. The owners were lovely and friendly, you can tell they love what they do. And the food was wonderful too, fresh and tasty. This place just might be heaven on earth. read more

Was a little nervous that this place existed until we pulled up... Greeted by very friendly and hospitable staff.. We chose to eat outside and sat on a beautiful patio setting surrounded by amazing country... Coming from Nashville tn I didn't think we could find a decent place to eat anywhere near Hope AR until now!! A hidden gem.. This is a great place. The old barn that has been converted is very quaint. Bob the owner engaged us and was observant to our table. We brought our kids and they enjoyed their food as much as we did. I still can't believe this restaurant is in Hope, AR. It was wonderful. I'm in my 60's. I've traveled my entire life. The lamb that I had at Dannie's was the best ever. No exaggeration. What a gem! Remote - yes, but worth the drive. A very diverse menu with some yummy options. I had the catfish with a very tasty shrimp sauce and my hubby's half rack of lamb was cooked perfectly. Cheesecake for dessert was the perfect ending. Prices were very reasonable. Combine that with personable staff and I don't think you could do better in the Hope vicinity. What a treat to find this little gem of a place! We had a delightful dinner at Dannie's. The location is awesome, out of town, and on a family farm in a little barn that has been converted to a restaurant. If you are In Hope, you must check out this place! The atmosphere is charming, food is great, wait staff are trained very well, and the owner was sweet and fun to talk with. We were the last ones to leave the restaurant and the owner sat down and drank coffee with is and visited for a bit. What a friendly and interesting gentleman. Great all around experience.
