There was also a man who asked my sister if she ever had this certain well known local beer (well, prob just well known to WI people). When she said no the man then walked her over to the bar and got her a glass of the beer. We prob spent 90 min in this castle. (It even look like a castle.) From cute and whimsical to fun and naughty, there is always something for everyone. The have mostly new, but they also have a few vintage items too. The look and feel of the shop is the best. I don't know where to look first. I usually make a few trips around to make sure I don't miss anything. There are just soooo many things to see. If I am looking for a gift for someone - anyone, I shop here. They have men's, women's, children, baby, home decor, accessories, coffee & tea items, greeting cards, gift wrap and the list goes on. The staff that I meet on each visit could not be any nicer. On my last visit, I decided to go back the next day to get something I was still thinking about and the guy remembered me. I like that. I always feel welcomed and appreciated.

There's so much to look at that I could have spent at least an hour in here covering every square inch of the place looking at all the wonderful goodies like candles, signs, cards, apparel, lotions, etc. Although, I wanted many items from here, I kept my purchase to a reasonable limit. I treated myself to the exclusively To and From Gift Shop perfume oil roller. It smells SO GOOD. Honestly, I wish I would have bought 2 as I'm from out of town (6 hours away!). The owner was kind and engaged in conversation with us. Awesome store. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

Swan's Pumpkin Farm: This local gem of a pumpkin patch was founded in 1976 by Ken Swan, making 2026…read moreits 50th anniversary. For me, Swan's is synonymous with pumpkins because as early as kindergarten, we'd make an annual pilgrimage to the farm as a class trip. A lot has changed since my frequent visits in the 1990's, but the core elements of what makes this quintessential pumpkin farm special are mostly intact. It is still geared towards families with plenty to do for young kids, such as a petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin jump pad (like a bounce house), and the Witch Hollow Corn Maze. There's also a 9-acre Corn City Maze for older kids and adults, which other than the 50th anniversary, was my main reason for checking out my favorite pumpkin farm after a long hiatus. Tickets cost $7 and I was informed that it takes approximately one hour to complete, so ticket sales stop at 5pm, which is one hour prior to the farm's closing time. I moved at a leisurely pace and was unencumbered by small children. That said, it took me approximately 30 minutes to complete. This was a little disappointing as I did a maze last fall at another Racine County farm (Borzynski's) and that took 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete. I thought Swan's maze was a neat experience, and it gave me a nice touch of nostalgia as I fondly remember corn mazes from my childhood. I recommend checking it out, but I think it would be challenging to do with young children that require a stroller as the ground is obviously dirt and not even. My only other complaint is that I remember when I was a kid, Corn City wasn't a maze, but a short loop through the cornfield that featured "citizens" that were mockups of celebrities but with painted pumpkins on a stuffed body (sort of like a scarecrow). Swan's website actually still lists this as a thing, but I didn't see it. I think it would have been cool if they would have placed some of the citizens as exhibits in a few of the dead ends in the maze. Just sort of a missed opportunity in my opinion. Additionally, there's obviously pumpkins for sale ($0.40/pound), snacks, and a small shop. There is also no fee for parking or entering the farm, so head on over and make some memories with your kids this fall. Who knows, maybe one day they'll be writing about it like me, for the 75th anniversary. Three stars for the maze (should be longer for $7) and five stars for the farm, four stars overall.

Lamps, books, blankets, jewelry and sage - what more could you ask for?!?! It almost reminds me of a shop up in Wisconsin Dells. And then there is Steve... He is funny and down to earth.
