My name is Bruce Owen, and I own a jewelry design business in Des Moines, Iowa. We recently had an…read moreissue with the sizing of a client's ring, and with their wedding quickly approaching, we were in a bit of a panic trying to find a jeweler who could handle the work properly and on short notice in their area. Claydon Jewelers stepped up and helped my client out with flying colors. They were professional, accommodating, and, most importantly, took great care of the ring and the customer. As a jeweler with 45 years of experience, I truly appreciate the integrity and craftsmanship of jewelers who remain committed to their art and take pride in doing things the right way. I HIGHLY recommend Claydon Jewelers to anyone in the Redondo Beach CA area who truly cares about the quality, craftsmanship, and care that goes into the jewelry they own or purchase. It was a pleasure to work with them, and I'm grateful they were there when we needed them.

I brought my wedding band in for a repair after one diamond fell out (which I was fortunate enough…read moreto find). I was quoted a little over $200 for the diamond replacement and a very minor resize of ¼ size down. When I went to pick up the ring, I was informed--after the work was already completed--that additional prongs had been replaced on both sides of the ring and that I now owed an extra $240. I was never contacted, informed, or asked for approval before this additional work was done. The explanation given was that some of the prong work was necessary due to resizing. However, after waiting over 40 minutes at pickup because the ring was "in billing," I was then told the resize had actually been forgotten entirely and had to be done on the spot. This made the justification for the unapproved prong work even more concerning. After calling twice and initially being brushed off by sales associates, I finally spoke with the owner, who acknowledged that I had not consented to the extra work and agreed to waive the additional charge. While I appreciate the owner ultimately correcting the billing, the situation itself should never have occurred. Jewelry--especially a wedding band--is deeply personal. Any additional work, design changes, or charges should never be performed without explicit customer approval. Between the unapproved services, forgotten resize, and billing delay, the experience felt disorganized and stressful. I would urge future customers to proceed with caution, insist on written estimates, and require approval before any additional work is done.

I called to see if the owner could help remove my engagement ring from my very swollen,…read more36-weeks-pregnant sausage finger. I had put it on like usual, but the swelling got so bad it was cutting off circulation--and nothing worked (soap, ice, even the floss trick). He told me he's able to remove about 90% of stuck rings but would need to see it in person. I came in, and he had it off in under five minutes. He was incredibly professional, gentle, and there was zero pain. When I asked how much I owed him, he told me he only charges to fix or make things, not to break them. That alone says everything about his integrity. I'll absolutely be coming back for any future jewelry needs. I couldn't recommend him more.

I was actually on my way to the ER when I happened to discover this place. I arrived just 5 minutes before closing, and they had already packed everything up and were ready to leave for the weekend. But the moment Tali and Juan saw how urgent my situation was, they immediately stepped in to help without hesitation. It took more than 40 minutes to carefully remove both of my rings. They used a special manual ring-cutting tool and were incredibly patient and careful to make sure my skin wasn't injured. Juan even ended up with bruises on his hand from working so hard to get the rings off! I cannot thank Tali and Juan enough for their kindness, patience, and willingness to help me when I was genuinely scared and didn't know what else to do. They easily could have told me they were closed, but instead they stayed and helped me through the entire situation.I truly appreciate you both and will never forget your kindness. Highly recommend this place!
