I am so sad writing this bc I wish my experience was different…read more Last year my husband and I came in for a wedding ring update for our 10 year anniversary. We walked in and found one ring right then and there, it was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. We also purchased an additional ring to go with the new ring. My husband also brought his Super Bowl ring to sized. We were happy. With 2-3 months, while I was shutting our closet door, I moved my hand awkwardly, hit my hand on the door (not enough to hurt) but I noticed a one of the diamonds had fell off my diamond wrapped band (luckily, when I noticed I found it on the ground). Later that week, I noticed a tiny diamond and fallen off the petite ring. I was heartbroken-- I am pretty rough with my hands and have two little kids so my hands get a lot of action but I had never had actual diamonds fall off rings. I called my jeweler, let her know and she said to bring them in. She offered to fix it and change the style of ring for the petite to make it more secure. She told me she would send me the design before creating it. That same day we went to pick up my husbands ring -- when we got home, we found water damage inside of the ring (writhing a hallow part of the design). Our jeweler took many months to fix my ring -- so much I had to follow up with her twice. She never sent me the design before creating. Months later she sent me a photo of the finished product and told me to come in and get my rings. We did but the entire time, I was irritated. I didn't like the look the re-designed ring but at that point I didn't even say anything bc I wanted to leave. I have been waiting 10 years for the upgrade and I wanted it to be special. Now every time I look at my rings I either worry that a diamond is going to fall off or it reminds me that I never want to go to the jeweler again. And probably going to getting a new rain eventually -- but I'm mostly just so unhappy with the service. I expected a lot more. And now, my husbands ring has dried water stains inside the design for life -- this is a family heirloom. My jeweler was Callie -- very nice but not a great experience and not very apologetic at all. I wish my experience was different. I'm still upset about it a year later.

Only to be told then by Tony himself that he did the work on my watch. My watch never worked properly and he would not refund the $1,300 he charged me. Not a typo on the $1,300... If you are reading this, I would check the other 1 star ratings for yourself. Hope this helps someone!

When I went to pick up the ring, I was informed--after the work was already completed--that additional prongs had been replaced on both sides of the ring and that I now owed an extra $240. I was never contacted, informed, or asked for approval before this additional work was done. The explanation given was that some of the prong work was necessary due to resizing. However, after waiting over 40 minutes at pickup because the ring was "in billing," I was then told the resize had actually been forgotten entirely and had to be done on the spot. This made the justification for the unapproved prong work even more concerning. After calling twice and initially being brushed off by sales associates, I finally spoke with the owner, who acknowledged that I had not consented to the extra work and agreed to waive the additional charge. While I appreciate the owner ultimately correcting the billing, the situation itself should never have occurred. Jewelry--especially a wedding band--is deeply personal. Any additional work, design changes, or charges should never be performed without explicit customer approval. Between the unapproved services, forgotten resize, and billing delay, the experience felt disorganized and stressful. I would urge future customers to proceed with caution, insist on written estimates, and require approval before any additional work is done.

The 15-year-old ring was showing a lot of wear and tear, with three missing stones. After inspecting the ring, Sam the owner was confident he could restore it to its original condition and offered a very reasonable estimate. The ring was ready in 6 days. When I came in to pick it up, Sam had an almost excited look on his face as he prepared me for the big reveal. You could tell how proud he was with the final product. As he took the ring out of the bag, my face lit up - I could not believe how beautiful it was. It genuinely looked every bit as good as the day I had bought it. The missing stones were replaced, all the settings were inspected and reinforced, and the gold and diamonds were cleaned and polished. I give my strongest endorsement to Modern Jewelers. I've been meaning to resize my original wedding ring for years, but was skittish about the potential of it being damaged in the wrong hands... and I love my wedding ring! But I finally decided to make the leap, did some research (read lots of review on Yelp!), and came away feeling the countless positive responses to The Jewelry Source made it a good first choice... and I wasn't disappointed. A charming shop on a charming street, with warm, inviting personnel -- owner Brenda couldn't have been nicer (even shared some homemade toffee another customer had dropped off!) and my interactions with both Michelle and Lauren were really friendly and very efficient, exactly the kind of experience you want in a neighborhood store. I briefly chatted with him ahead of time and he directed me to his website to gather ideas. I found a few rings that appealed to me and sent the images to Alex. When we arrived for our appointment we talked about my preferences and he had so many samples for me to try on and see how they worked with my current rings. It was actually Alex who found THE ring. We further discussed options on which metal would work best and the differences and benefits to lab-grown stones. Alex was able to help us create exactly what I wanted and keep the cost within our preferred range. He advised the ring would be ready in 3-4 weeks and contacted me exactly at 3 weeks to let me know it was ready. This anniversary band adds the ideal amount of bling to my ring finger.
