Good pizza. I had the vegetarian and all the toppings seemed high quality and tasted great. The food looks good in general. The service was decent but not amazing. read more

(There are some other coffee shops in Paris that are similar in style, but if you *don't* eat animals and their secretions, any time you go to one of those "cool type" shops you have to settle for just a cuppa.) No! Us vegans want something to EAT, by jove. Thank God for Grounded. Everything is delicious and creatively presented, the hot chocolate is actually made with melted dark chocolate (um, SO GOOD,) and their menu is always evolving with the seasons. AMAZING food, guys. I'll be back -- hungry -- for more of their savory fare.

The two items we ordered were both SO good. We ordered some sort of toast that has almond butter, hazelnut butter, jam, and coconut flakes. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to satisfy a slight morning sweet tooth. The other item we ordered was the bowl of the month (or maybe it's the bowl of the week?) It, too, was wonderful, and so filling! Grounded is really cute and cozy inside, but I will say that it was HOT in this small space. Also, there isn't much seating in here. Maybe enough for 12-15 people. Still, the food here is incredible and the man working at the counter was so kind. Definitely stop in here if you can!

But have you ever dined out in a bathtub or bed?…read more At first it seems like a cute vegetarian cafe/brasserie along the canal- unassuming and fairly standard. Vegetarian dishes are the highlight here, meat and eggs can be added for extra. Then you walk upstairs and see the uniquely decorated "home" that puts a new spin on "eating in". We came for the weekend brunch 12-3pm. All orders placed at the counter consisted of a couple croissants, a light entree, a dessert, and all you can have coffee, juice, baguette, butter, and jam for 24€. We were given the pastries, and a buzzer to collect our entree and dessert when they were ready from the basement kitchen. So you'll definitely need to be with people who can walk up and down stairs while holding plates- and maybe more than one plate if someone needs to hold a spot at tables. It is pricier than other brunches nearby, but it is also a novelty and part of what you're paying for is the unlimited nature of the buffet and time you will occupy the adorably decorated but limited space.

The food was amazing, and the quiche was hands down the best we had anywhere around the world. We were waited on by the friendliest server who made us feel so welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. Prices are a bit steep (quiche and side salad were €19 alone), but if you're looking for a nice place to brunch with friends, Carette is the place to be!
