    Chocolate milkshake

Mmmmmmm I don't really know where to start with this one. I have only had a bad excuse for a milkshake here but the lady did advise that they had only kids milkshakes and they weren't really all that good as it's more of a bar. So honestly I can't give this place a bad rating because the staff are honest, fast and kind.

Daniel San is the newest addition to Manly bar scene, and it's here to stay. Everything from the brightly lit decor, to the loud music, and the delicious food will remind you of Tokyo bylanes.. The place is fun and quirky, with plastic fish floating in bags, fake chicken hanging from the ceiling, and heavy metal and rock influences everywhere. They have a good selection of beers, sake, and wine. The food is really top-notch and priced competitively for a place like this. Do try the chicken karaage and the steamed pork buns as they are super delicious. The sashimi platter is fresh and has one of the best tuna cuts I have had lately. Their portions are all made to share. Fun place with a relaxed vibe.

We ordered the Love Boat, sashimi tacos and pork buns! The food was delicious! The Love Boat had a small selection of sushi and sashimi for the price, but they were very tasty. The sashimi tacos had a little too much cabbage in my opinion. But the pork buns were absolutely delicious and are highly recommended if you love pork! Also, the cocktails were strong - just the way they should be! We will be back again!

Great location, service is poor. If you can't remember what your customer ordered, go back to washing dishes.

Was the first one to come in and was given seat as soon as I entered. The sushi rolls on the menu looked appetizing so decided to go for Spicy Waka Roll (assorted sashimi, shallots, spicy sesame sauce). Food was prepared pretty quickly. More people started coming in as soon as my dish arrived. The combination of salad (mix of green and red leaves) and sashimi are amazing. The sashimi were fresh and the portion was pretty good even though it might seemed small when it is rolled over and cut into 8 pieces. The greens were crunchy and fresh making the whole dish chewy. Besides that the spicy sesame sauce, mayonnaise on the side and sprinkles of red peppers were a good combination. It has tangy aftertaste and I skipped the wasabi to have a better taste of the sauces. Price wise it was on the moderate level. At least the 8 pieces of sushi were pretty filling as the sushi master included quite a bit of rice. From the waiters conversation, it was pretty clear that they are Japanese and I did confirm with them. This place might be small but it definitely provided some authentic sushis.

The salmon was expertly presented, melt-in-your-mouth delicious, bathed in its citrus marinade and topped with generous portions of crunchy green onions and greens. The beef carpaccio looked amazing, too, although we did not get a chance to try it. We also had the decent scallops and the mediocre Waka roll, neither of which I particularly recommend, but the salmon carpaccio... You must make the trek to this restaurant if you're in Manly -- it may be the best dish I had during my 8-day trip to Sydney.

Opened late in 2018…read more Saké Manly features an interactive sushi counter, a sophisticated bar and an outdoor terrace with sweeping ocean views out to Manly Cove, making it the idyllic location to enjoy Japanese and cocktails. The menu overseen by Chef Shaun Presland and Head Chef Shoji Toru offers a superb section of nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls, all made to order from the freshest of local seafood. Saké Manly's drinks list showcases the finest of Japanese spirits, whiskies and over 30 bins of sake as well as umeshu, shochu and flavoured sake. Four seasonally changing spritz feature on the menu, all designed to match the light, floral notes of Japanese cuisine. (Stolen from the website...very useful information) The views are nice, not spectacular though...while it is a waterfront restaurant, if you don't get a good seat with a view you will be stuck watching all the folks on the wharf. We were a walk in and scored a table in the middle. I think you need to make reservations for a table with a view or for a big party...or maybe just get there really early. This place is lit! Great ambiance, modern decor and plenty of space. Be aware of the prices on the menu though...is is after all a Waterfront restaurant...so value will be an afterthought. ~ spicy brussel sprouts - 4.5/5 One of the suggested appetizers that our enthusiastic server convinced us to get... Basically a perfect appetizer! Delicious, charred, good flavor. ~ glacier51toothfish saikyo yaki - 4.5/5 I feel a bit duped on this one... Patagonian toothfish! It's amazing! "From Australian waters" ummm...in the states we call it Chilean Seabass! It is an excellent fish, buttery, flaky, light...delicious. Problem is our waitress advertised it as something that can only be found in Australian waters...um...NO. Sooo...I was under the impression I was enthusiastically wolfing down some exotic local Aussie catch! ~ sashimi moriawase - 4.5/5 Brilliant! Just Amazing!! Just not for 2 people...I could scarf this down myself. Amazing presentation...edible art, small pieces of fish, but very fresh. ~ From Japan with love - 3/5 A Gin bowl...whatever that is suppose to be. Nice refreshing drink, nothing stands out about it. IMHO the description sounds better than the drink tastes. All the food here is very very good. You are paying a premium for waterfront dining, so I had to ding about 1/2 star off. Definitely no value here; while every thing was Brilliant, nothing was outstanding. Good place to take a date, but be prepared to drop $$$

It's actually a nicer looking restaurant for the Manly area, very clean and contemporary. The service was very good (which is unusual for Aus), I think they're catering to the tourists that visit. We tried the tempura, it was lightly breaded which was nice but it had little flavor. The spider roll with the soft shell crab was nice, very light! The nigiri eel was the best!! And we ordered a dragon roll for dessert which was a very cool experience and tasted delicious too! This place does get busy during the holiday season so book a table. And while Manly is a casual place, people tended to dress up just a little nicer here but you still had a few locals in beach attire but not many.

It was a great find though - some of the most delicious sushi I've ever eaten. Freshly made boxes containing all sorts of sushi - mini rolls, sashimi, California rolls, spring rolls and more. I chose the 'Today's Special' ($7) which consisted of 6 mini vegetable sushi rolls, one king prawn sashimi, one tuna sashimi and one salmon sashimi. It was delicious when generously dunked in soy and draped with pickle ginger, and especially because the nori seaweed didn't overpower all the other flavours. They also sold a delicious deep fried pork and vegetable dumplings and a range of other sushi rolls. It was extremely fresh - you could see the chefs busy making the rolls to restock the shelves as we waited. The service was quick and they were very polite. There was plenty of room to sit and eat inside the restaurant, but it would have been equally nice to sit on the beach and have a sushi feast. I'll definitely return to this fresh and healthy sushi place, it's one of the nicest ones I've been to.
