When I was 11 I injured my back, and for four years after that my parents just assumed the pains I…read morecomplained of were "growing pains". Finally they took me to see a chiropractor and in three visits the pain was gone. Fast forward 20 years and I had never been able to find another chiropractor that practiced the same technique even once in all those years. My back and knee were acting up pretty badly at this point (you know the roll you have to do to get out of bed, and the slow standing while you wait and see if you're going to fall down from pain?). One visit to Dr Dave and I was no longer in pain. The knee took a few more visits before it really wanted to stay in place which isn't surprising as it had been bugging me for 15 years. I believe his work saved me from needing knee surgery. He practices Directional Non-Force Technique Chiropractic...which is so subtle that sometimes I wonder what he's doing...then I get off the table and feel a bit better...and a day or two later wake up and realize that I'm no longer in any pain at all. I refer my clients to Dr. Doan regularly for two reasons: 1) I feel confident in his ability to help in the healing process, and 2) I trust that the work he does has vastly reduced likelihood of exacerbating injury as compared to standard chiropractic.

Dr. David Doan was phenomenal. I have too much to say about him…read more After the field of chiropractic has received bad pr I have observed some commonly held negative associations about it. They are: " it is very expensive" "they make me come back a lot, and I don't know if it is helping," "It is very risky, how can I know the one I visit isn't going to mess up my body." Dr. Doan's demeanor, consideration, attentiveness, extraordinary and rare skill disassociate him from these commonly held associations. He uses the direct non-force technique. That means he lightly touches you and thus you are healed. Sounds ridiculous? I went on Friday, because I have been playing guitar for 6 years and it messed up my back. He conveyed genuine and respectful concern for every detail of my story, synthesized all the information, and customized sequences of reflex triggers that made me feel 95% better the exact same day. I went again on monday and my whole body felt better almost entirely removing the remaining 5% of suffering and discomfort I was experiencing. His skills are worlds better than the other chiropractors technique who I tried. (The other one used a relatively non forceful technique, yet it didn't compare to the expertly skill of Dr. Doan) His rate was $145 for the first visit and I would have paid far more if I knew just HOW amazing he is. I am a believer in Dr. Doan. Don't mess around with your bones, condone Dr. Doan.

He is the best diagnostician in his field and amazes me in his ability to find problems and heal them just from his hands-on examinations. Of course, you should tell him what you think the problem is, but its not always what you think it is. He is the most persistent in recurring problems, and keeps finding more and better ways to treat chronic problems. I have a chronic shoulder problem and he relieves the pain so that the shoulder moves freely without pain by working pressure points in my chest and back. He is not satisfied unless I report no pain in the session. Everyone's case is different but you will find a professional who cares. Peter practices what he preaches. (He and another chiropractor trade work on each other). He in in his 60s and runs marathons and bike races. He is very knowledgeable regarding nutrition but does not try to sell you on anything, he just says what he thinks. Like I said about my dentist in another review, the only thing in his office that changes is the magazines, so if you are looking for expensive modern contraptions you won't find it here, but you won't pay for what you don't need, just excellent care from a wonderful professional.

After that time frame, however, my ankle was still very unstable (and I couldn't enjoy my regular exercise) so I decided to see a variety of physical therapists and physiotherapists to expedite the healing process -- to no avail. I found myself complaining to a friend about this and she suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Stalzer, citing that Pam was "the most intuitive healer she knew." Pam worked her magic and after one session I was playing soccer again the following week. (I hadn't played since the injury.) I've honestly never met any health practitioner this intuitive. She uses a combination of chiropractic, Chinese medicine, sound therapy, EMDR, etc. She uses every tool in her toolkit and now, weeks later, I'm regularly playing soccer again. If I could rank her higher than 5 stars I would! Good luck!!

I began receiving treatment from her in Los Angeles and now since relocating to Nor Cal, I see her in at the Oakland office. She is a true healer who is intuitive and treats the entire body. I am healthier than I was 15 years ago and much of it has to do with Pam. I have been to four other chiropractors in my time and she is the only one to treat the entire being. She cares deeply for her patients and goes beyond the normal care. Her office space is very inviting. If you are looking for a nontraditional chiropractor then I suggest you give Dr. Pam Stalzer a try. My life and well being is better because I did.

I chose Dr. Eilert because he is a Palmer graduate (one of the first/best chiropractic programs) and I stayed with him because of his excellent, kind and compassionate care. He has provided chiropractic care for all members of my family. Dr. Eilert uses the activator method of adjusting the spine as opposed to the physical abrupt manipulation that most chiropractors perform. To me it is a gentle approach and especially now that I am older, is easier for me to tolerate.

I truly believe this is his calling. I live with extremely complex and severe conditions, including stage 3 full-body CRPS (one of the highest pain conditions on the national pain scale), erythromelalgia, severe nerve pain that constantly fires as stabbing, burning, and electric shock sensations, piriformis syndrome, bulging and degenerative disc issues, spinal stenosis, chronic back pain, migraines, and serious sleep disturbances. My nervous system is often in a constant state of overload and pain. What makes Dr. Legaspi so rare is that he actually understands and takes the time to treat all of this together. He listens deeply, never rushes, and approaches my care with patience, gentleness, and real intention to help my body calm down. Honestly, the only times my nervous system truly settles and I am able to sleep is after seeing him. His treatments noticeably calm the nerve firing, reduce the intensity of the burning and shooting pain, and bring a level of relief I struggle to find anywhere else. It feels like my body finally gets a moment to rest. He is also incredibly compassionate and attentive. I'm in a wheelchair, and he always makes sure I am safe. He even waits with me until my Uber arrives and makes sure I get in safely. That kind of care and humanity is rare. After a year and a half, I can say without hesitation that he has made a real difference in my life. He is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but he treats medicine like a true calling, and it shows in everything he does. I am deeply grateful to have found Dr. Legaspi.
