We came to see Dr Smith for a second opinion on my almost 3 year olds teeth. Our prior dentist left me stressed and full of questions and feeling like the worst mother. After looking at my sons X-rays, Dr Smith sat and calmly talked with me about what he saw and what treatments he would recommend. Even my two boys getting impatient and wanting to run around he still answered all of my questions and explained everything so that we all understood. He's very conservative on his treatment approach and from what I saw, doesn't just jump to wanting to extract teeth. My kids of course loved the video games in the waiting room, watching the tvs on the ceiling while having his exam done and the toy they got to pick after we were done! I had gone to another pediatric dentistry recently with horrible experience. From the moment we walked into this office till the moment we left, everything was perfect. Dr. Smith and his staff are the best. They are friendly, great with the kids and very professional. Once you arrive for your appointment, they see the kids quickly and make everything as painless as possible. This office is so awesome. My kids love coming to the dentist now. We have been to several pediatric dentists in the area and have not been impressed with the care. I received a check from my insurance that I was confused about and when I talked to them they said that if I didn't bring it In immediately I would be charged late fees! I was very pleased with my experience here! Very clean facility. I was impressed with their waiting room for the kids, they had games and movie playing. Let me just first say that I was super impressed by the entirety of the staff. Friendly, warm and welcoming. The office is equipped with the technology of today; ipads for the kids in the wait room, tv area, and a small arcade table. My kids were amazed. Two of my kids had horrible experiences at another dentist in the area, and I knew at that moment when they seemed to fear their dentist, that it was time for a change. I called numerous places and was about to brave the drive to Orange County for a more kid friendly dentist, when I read a review about Dr. Smith. I was concerned at first since my children were post preemies and had multiple tooth issues, I needed someone who knew about post-preemie dental care, someone who was specialized. Upon calling, I was put at ease by the receptionist. She assured me that we were in good hands and that Dr. Smith is actually the only Board Certified pediatric dentist in the area and he was experienced with post-preemie and special needs children. We went in and the kids' fears were thrown to the wayside. They enjoyed their visit and looks forward to going back! I was amazed. Dr. Smith is not pushy and he has small children of his own so he knows how to talk to them on their level. A few weeks after their first visit, they received a letter from Dr. Smith thanking them for coming in! It was really amazing. The kids loved it! Thank you Dr. Smith! read more

Dr. Smith has been awesome. We have only been a few times so far but he is so great with always answering all my mom questions and making things more comfortable going forward with what needs to happen for each kiddo. Same with the assistant that's helping. He goes over options and what's best and allows the parent to decide and is not pushy. He is very patient with my kids 2 and 4 almost 3 and 5. He understand the ages and the limits each child has and waits until the child is ready verses having a parent feel they have to be more forceful with a non cooperative toddler. I appreciate his dental assistance that we have had so far. They are just awesome and spoil my girls. They are kind and patient with each of them. They have been amazing. We have had to do a crown and had a dental emergency with getting teeth knocked out right after we had our first appointment a week prior and the staff was there and available and helpful even though it was when they were done for the day. We have more to do and know they will take care of the kids. Dr. Jenny is so fantastic as well. We do pay a bit out of pocket verses going on base because our insurance but it's worth it for our kids to be so well taken care of. We are grateful that we have found them and we are so appreciative of how well our kids are treated. read more

Cannot thank Dr. smith and his staff enough . My 4 year old has been to another pediatric dentist in temecula and we just were not very comfortable there. My daughter is one of those kids who is very suspicious of Drs and their "magic tools " . Dr . Smith is the first one who was able to really put her at ease and talk her through the whole process and not scare her. I was literally shocked at how easy her filling appointment went , I was expecting her to feel at least some slight pain and tears, my daughter did not even flinch through the whole procedure ! The lobby was fun and entertaining for him and took his mind off why we were there. I have taken my 3 year old here two times for her "cleaning", in which both times she never had any type of exam. Due to the fact of her age and discomfort, Dr. Smith was wonderful and gentle in his approach. They sat and talked about teeth and even used a stuffed animal to act out the cleaning process with his interments. My daughter is Autistic so we took this referral from a friend knowing he would take this more gentle approach with her to avoid any outburst or forcing her into something she didn't like. She's only 3 like I said so mostly these appointments were to get her acquainted and more comfortable with the idea of a Dentist. I have to say this is a fabulous office with a great dentist, UNFORTUNATELY the billing Staff has messed up our billing both times we have been there. With on going headaches over money owed. Even charging us late fees when we were never notified. I'm not sure if this is due to confusion or lack of experience in the office billing department, but it's been quite off putting and forced us to now find another local dentist that hopefully do not have these issue. As simple as this appointment is for a cleaning I cannot understand why it's been messed up multiple times. I would say Great Dentist though and I wish him luck in his practice. I called and made an appointment on the same day two weeks ago for an emergency visit for my daughter. I gave the front office all my insurance information and when I got there, Stephanie stated your daughter is due for a cleaning and we have time today, would you like to have it done today? I said yes and I figured since I was there why not? Dr. Smith and his assistant were very kind, but as I was checking out with the front office to make an appointment. The Office Manager stated you have a co-pay for today's visit. I was told from Stephanie that they were out of network with my insurance and I would have a co-pay when treatment was being done. But never with a cleaning! I'm a Office Manager at a Dental Office and my staff always goes over the treatment with the patient, especially if they have co-pays! I think it is very important for the patients to know if they are going to have to pay ahead of time!!! I had to pay my co-pay that day and the Office Manager gave me a professional discount and made my appointment and left. I came home and started thinking , I told them that I was in the dental field, why did I have to pay, when I could of had her come to my office to get a cleaning done at no charge. I tried getting a hold of the Office Manager and didn't receive any phone call back from her, I called yesterday to reschedule my daughter's appointment I made and I asked to speak to the Office Manager to request for a credit back to my account. Then finally she called me back and stated you can have your refund check in the mail, but you are more than welcomed to take her to another dental office.I could not believe my mind when they told me this! Dr. Smith is a great dentist and my daughter really liked him, but it is very unfortunately that his front office staff and Office Manager are very unprofessional! All this is because of no communication with the patients parents and not letting patients know up front if there is a co-pay. read more

LOVE this office, I wish they would let me go too!! ;) We were recommended by Dr. Rucker from upstairs, and are so glad that we were! I was able to have all 3 of my children ages 2 1/2, 9, and 12 seen at the same time, and not a single tear was shed!! And, I left with all my hair intact!! ;) Felt like a small miracle. The office is state of the art with arcade room, iPads, and ceiling TV with all kids favorite new movies wasn't the only seller for me, it was truly the warmth and care i felt from the staff and especially from Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith and his staff are great. My two sons had check-ups with him last November. My sons were disappointed when we were called back so quickly because they wanted to spend more time in the fun waiting room. Dr. Smith was patient and kind with my tentative two-year-old, and was upfront about some work and costs that were needed with my five-year-old. Today, my five-year-old was complaining of mouth pain, and I noticed an abscess on his tooth. Unfortunately, our insurance has changed and they are now out-of-network, but our in-network doctor couldn't see him until tomorrow. I called Dr. Smith's office to see if he could get an appointment for that day, and they were able to fit him in. My son was called back as soon as we arrived, was seen promptly, and we were given treatment options with estimates on the costs. They even gave us a discount since they don't accept our current insurance. Because of circumstances of our availability, he was able to fix my son's tooth today, at a more than reasonable price, even staying after closing hours to get it done the same day. I am so grateful for their flexibility and understanding of our circumstances. It made a quite stressful day become one where I was left feeling grateful. Dr. Smith is very kind, gentle, friendly, and uses the correct vocabulary words to encourage children calmness, safety, and education about their oral hygiene. The staff is incredible! Our son has been going to Dr. Smith for 2 years now (he just turned 3). The office is fun, receptionist, nurses and Dr. Smith are all very nice and much to my surprise he doesn't throw a fit before or during his exam. He loves to walk back through the little door and hop right into the chair. He's usually not intrigued by the TV screen on the ceiling but I imagine he will be very into it at his next visit. Dr. Smith lets him play with the mouth mirror a bit to get comfortable with being there and then he settles right in and allows him to peek around. We've now moved south but gladly travel the 45 minutes to keep seeing Dr. Smith and his staff. Scheduling appointments is always a breeze and they have a great team. read more

Dr. Smith is the most magical dentist in the Temecula/Murrieta area! He actually managed to save two of the four teeth that were unnecessarily crowned from another dentist. My kid was only three at the time and was terrified thanks to the first dentist (if you can call him that). No doubt he's a good pediatric dentist. The concern is with the deceptive billing. Estimate was $750 short. Not because insurance didn't cover. Rather it's the staff's inability to give a reasonable quote. The FIRST bill arrived ~6 months after service with a 90 day late tag attached. Bad form. You aren't late if they don't notify you of a balance due. Such a scam/scare tactic. My wife was so scared about our credit she handed over our credit card number ... big mistake ... now they've got our money. I tried having a reasonable conversation so we wouldn't get ripped off for their mistake in estimating, but the Dentist refused to adjust his charge to the maximum allowable he readily accepts from other patients with Humana. An estimate is just that, I get it, but if someone gives an estimate and PPO insurance provides coverage (ie. doesn't deny the claim) the final bill should be within range of the estimate. I gave them a chance to make it right and it's been about 3 weeks since office manager Janine has not returned my call. Buyer beware. read more

I took my son to this dentist and was quoted a price of $50 for all dental work. Months later they billed me for $250 -- 5x the amount of their quote! They did the same thing to a coworker. Dr. Smith and his staff are amazing! Both of my boys have been going for over a year now. My oldest (6 yrs now) had a traumatic experience with a different pediatric dentist in Temecula when he was 3 and was terrified of the dentist. Dr. Smith and his staff always make sure my boys are not scared and are happy to be at the dentist. They have TVs in the ceiling to help keep the kids minds off of what's going on while they get their teeth cleaned/worked on. They also have video games in the lobby that my boys love! Plus when they are all done with their treatment, they get a gold coin to pick something out of the prize machines. They are so nice and never suggest anything that doesn't need to be done.
