My husband and I were looking to replace the roof on our house, we weren't in dyer need but probably only would've been good through winter. We had received multiple quotes including the free quote from Daniel Hood. Clint, our sales guy, was very personable and upfront with all pricing. We decided to move forward after discussing financing. They scheduled us and stayed according to that. We had a new roof in 1 day. The crew left no mess at all. Even when we needed something extra, I had an email (this was the best way of correspondence due to my job) telling me the new price. Have to put my review on Yelp because Google keeps deleting the review. They'll post the pics but not the review...so here it is. We are extremely disappointed in the metal roof they put on our house. It is so scratched and banged up. It looks terrible. Our new construction now has this roof as an eye sore. We had so many issues with install. They'd put metal up and not screw it off, wind would rip panels off and we'd be delayed with new material orders. All the material was there if they'd have done it right from the beginning. The crew they had was awful. Another crew finally came in and made some fixes. Now, we have a leak. Brand new house with interior finishes happening everyday and we have a leak. It's heartbreaking, I could just cry. It's not like you can just get a new roof with the expense of this one. We thought we were safe using a larger roofing company, we were wrong. read more

A horrible, awful, unethical company. I will be filing a complaint against them with the better business bureau. They promised to replace our roof and we signed a contract with them to do the work, but the insurance company would only pay for half. Despite the contract being conditional on getting the whole roof paid for, they have hounded us now for over two years to pay them for work they never did. Not only that they put a horrible tarp on our roof that further damaged our roof and did so without ever consulting us. Avoid this crooked company at all costs. They are just out for your wallet. Recently I had a leak in one of my high end rental houses, not a big one but a leak onto beautiful hardwood floors. I called a lot of roofers that were recommended and only two showed up and I felt uncomfortable with both of them. Then I found Daniel, he showed up early, and found the problem right away, it was a very simple repair the following day , he was knowledgeable , professional, honest , and did great work. Most of all he listened , asked questions, and I felt comfortable with him right away, his first words out of the car were sorry about the shorts but I spilled coffee on the way over and did not want to go back and change as it would make him late! We had tornado damage done to our roof and our insurance adjuster inspected the roof and declared that it was totaled. He saw that the last roofer who put on our 30-year shingles didn't put it on properly. The original shingles had algae all over them and our newer shingles were placed over the original shingles without even cleaning off the original shingles causing some of the boards of the roof to rot. The insurance adjuster said that all of the shingles need to be removed and rotted boards need to be replaced before a new roof can be put on. These supposed 30-year shingles that were put on only lasted 10 years before the winds destroyed them, but they were also full of algae just like the shingles they covered up. So, we started to consider getting a metal roof. We also decided we were going to get 3 quotes and choose from there. In order to get the 3 quotes we contacted 14 different roofing companies. Out of those, most either didn't get back to give us a quote at all, or if they did get back with us they did so after a month or so after we already had our roof on. I learned several things through this process. #1-Most roofers absolutely hate metal roofs and would rather not deal with them and the insurance adjuster didn't metal either. #2-The other option was upgrading to wind-resistant, algae-resistant heavy duty shingles. #3-While there are different companies that make these type of shingles, the best quality shingles seem to be made by GAF. #4-GAF only certifies certain roofers trained by them to make sure that their shingles are put on in the best quality manner. #5-The best and most dependable companies appear to be those Accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. The first of the 3 roofers who gave us a quote showed up on our doorstep before even asking him for a quote. He was not GAF certified, nor has the BBB even heard of him and he only gave us a quote for regular shingles. He also had no website or even a Facebook site and a questionable physical address and an email address he took weeks to answer. He gave us a low quote but my warning red flag antenna went up on him right away. The next quote we received came from a guy who had all of the things we were looking for in a roofer but his quote was thousands of dollars above the insurance adjuster's estimate plus our insurance adjuster locked horns with him and didn't like him at all. Finally our last quote came from Daniel Hood Roofing Systems. His quote came in at near the insurance adjuster's estimate. He had a website, a Facebook site, an email address, a physical address, and was easy to access both by email, text, or phone. He is Accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating, GAF certified, and has FANTASTIC reviews from BBB, Google, Yelp, etc. I looked through 46 different reviews, all 5 stars, to find that he always did things with the highest quality work, had a crew that thoroughly cleaned up after themselves and was professional in every way. The other thing that was consistently mentioned about him was that he is a truly honest man to deal with (a hard quality to find in someone nowadays). We hired him and they came all the way from Knoxville to Crossville to do our roof in a timely and professional manner. He did not only our home's roof, but also the roof of our shed out back and it all looks absolutely beautiful. He is all the things that were positively said about him, and then some. I was so afraid to trust someone after having been ripped off from the last folks who did our roof. You can trust Daniel to not only do the job, but to do it right. !!*DO NOT HIRE!!...Knoxville Home Owners Beware!*!! Incompetent: not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully. ...spot on definition for Daniel Hood Roofing! If you want to have them come out and not repair what they were hired to do?...leave silicon caulk tubes in your yard for your dogs to play with, leave your water running and your water hose in your yard, leave cushion inserts, felt from your roof, nails, water bottles in your yard, bring their girlfriends to help them repair your roof, wait around all day for someone to call you, show up on sunny days when it's not raining to see why your roof is still leaking...& to "not fix" what they said they would fix which btw was a different story the 8x they had to come back out AND still did "not fix" the problem!!...our small leak 999$ has turned into a major repair...& Daniel says he can fix it at his cost!!-4500$...we asked Daniel to refund our money and he said "read your contract!" so we did...the contract states that DHR would repair our leak?...they did not. What about your handshake & your word?...
