I bought a home with a metal ridgecap. My home inspector didn't mention that metal ridgecaps are horribly outdated and that any home with one should have it replaced immediately because unless it is recaulked regularly, it WILL leak. Well, it did, damaging my sheathing and leaking down onto the sheetrock inside. I sent out three requests for estimates. Barnett wasn't the first I called, but they were the first to respond. Victoria showed up the next day, early, with her partner Alfredo. I fully expected Victoria to recommend an entire new roof for tens of thousands of dollars. But she inspected my roof, found the issues, and wrote down what she would do to fix it and how much it would cost on the spot. The repairs were less than $2000, which was shocking considering the amount of work she and Alfredo would ultimately do. I wish I had canceled the other estimates. The other contractors I had come out hit me with aggressive sales tactics as soon as they pulled into my driveway. Neither gave me a quote on the spot. I had to call the one company 9 days later and they only quoted a replacement; not the repair that I asked for. Another company never gave me a quote at all, instead they insisted that I set up another meeting with them at a time my wife could attend because I said I wouldn't be signing a contract without her input. There is more to my story, and I was not an easy customer. I even let my quote expire while I was dealing with other contractors and my insurance company, but Barnett still honored it for the original price. Barnett roofing replaced my 30 year old shingle roof last week and did an amazingly wonderful job. The entire job was completed in one day (36 square). This included, complete removal of the old roofing, replacement of 10 sheets of decking and installation of under layment, and new GAF 50 year material shingle warranty with a 10 year leak proof warranty. They did a great job on my roof. David was very professional and easy to work with. With a large crew they were able to get it done in one day. I was having leaking problems with the chimney area so they installed new flashing and made sure I would have no more leaks. With all the rain we've had , I have had no problems.
