We left messages at several places and then left our truck at Tom's waiting for the shop to open. By the way, we never received a return phone call from any of the other shops in Bozeman! Coming off the holiday weekend Tom's was pretty booked with usual customer repairs. TJ said he would do his best to look at it by the end of the day. Sure enough we got a call saying that we needed new calipers, rotors and brake pads at the end of the day. He said it would be ready by the end of day the next day. Fortunately, it was finished by noon the next day and we were on our way to continue our trip. This is a quality business that we would highly recommend. I surfed the web and found Bozeman Community Auto. It had great reviews. I had no choice but to try them. My daughter goes to Montana State in Bozeman and has my Jeep Wrangler. My daughter has had a couple of issues with her car. They fixed my daughter's car at a great price. Their technicians were very knowledgeable, explained exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. Having worked on my Jeep Wrangler before, replacing the cam and rocker arms, I was very familiar with the types of issues that are common on the Jeep. Their assessment was right on! Auto Stop installed a rebuilt engine in my VW Vanagon. Within three miles of leaving the shop, the…read morelow coolant warning alarm came on. I immediately returned, but after a brief inspection I was told there was nothing wrong. When I left the shop, the warning alarm came on again. I called Auto Stop, explained that the warning had returned, and was again assured there was nothing wrong. I was told to wait and see if the alarm came on again after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and I could smell coolant burning on the hot engine. I made it home just before coolant began dripping from the vehicle. At that point, I had the van towed to another repair shop. The second shop found that the primary coolant hose from the reservoir to the engine had been installed incorrectly and was approximately 3/4 inch too short. They also discovered a second hose with a large bulge that was on the verge of rupturing. Both issues required immediate repair. What disappointed me most was not simply that mistakes were made, but that my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. After the warning alarm came on twice within minutes of leaving the shop, I expected a thorough inspection of the cooling system rather than reassurance that nothing was wrong. Because of the improper installation, I incurred more than $500 in additional repair costs, plus the cost of towing the vehicle to another shop. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. The quality of the installation, the lack of careful follow-up, and the poor customer service left me with significant additional expense and inconvenience.

When I came out after paying they were fumbling with the hood as it wasn't closing tight! Another guy came out and slammed it down.... I didn't realize anything was wrong until I tried to wash my windshield and my wipers weren't working... my windshield was all wet, can't see now driving down 19th in the dark! Pulled off at Lowe's to discover my wiper inside my hood at a 90 degree angle... I think it got bent at the connector to wiper motor! I highly recommend you do not go here!

After calling around several places with estimates of waiting a week to 3 months; the guys at Foster's Master Touch were able to re-arrange their schedule to fit me in the next morning. The car was drivable so I delivered it and they kindly gave me a ride back to my hotel and picked me up the following day when the car repair was completed. The repair estimate came in at $320; however they did not have to replace a part so the final bill was $260! As a single female traveling through, not knowing much about car repairs; I was so thankful for the honesty, fairness and how they went above and beyond by getting the car in right away and giving me rides to and from my hotel.
