I was pleasantly surprised when I went to look at cats eaRly February. It was clean, not a terrible wait and they give you all the information on animals you request. They do not hide anything. Got a little kitten for $125.00. To some that may sound expensive, but seriously, this kItten was fully vetted and ready to go. (The cheapest fully vetted kitten I could find outside of the humane society was 250) AdopTion process didn't take all that long and I'm very pleased.

Kitten has resting bitch face like no other.

I was very specific with what I needed and they accommodated me so well. You can tell they genuinely love animals and take their job seriously. Update: cat hates me. Judges me endlessly. So I treat him like any man I've dated and I ignore him until he's hangry and comes to me for love (and food). Our relationship has improved with my new strategy for making my kitty love me.

Best way to solve the over crowding is to take one home. The pups are quite cute but be sure you can support the little ones.

Unfortunately we didn't adopt today. The place was clean and the workers friendly. Restroom clean. Sufficient parking in a nice location.

I've adopted 3 of my best friends from here. Although my kitten keeps attacking my feet, but I think that's on us.

I don't know how anyone could have given up our sweet girl, but whatever the reason we have been able to happily give her a forever home.

My family recently started volunteering here - in part to get volunteer hours for my high school…read moreson, but also because we love animals. Volunteering can range from "socializing" with dogs, walking them, helping clean, do laundry - whatever you can think of. This organization means well and loves their animals. It can't be easy - as one animal goes out, there are many more waiting to be rescued. It's heartbreaking, but SFTS is one of the heroes to those animals. They're not a large swanky facility with tons of financial resources. But they care. Their adoption events are at PetSmart (east side) every Saturday. While the adoption fee can feel like a lot (it varies from pet to pet), remember they've had all of their medical care taken care of. A mill puppy will cost way more, and rescued dogs KNOW they are being rescued. There's no other love like that.

From the start, it was clear how much the staff truly cares for every animal that comes through their doors. They made sure Rudie, then called Dana, was healthy, loved, and ready for her forever home. These pics are from the day we drove from Chicago to Madison to bring her home. Over the years, we came to understand what people mean when they say, "who rescued who." Rudie brought more love, laughter, and comfort into our lives than we could ever have imagined. We're deeply grateful for the joy she gave us and for the compassion this shelter shows every single day. We lost Rudie last month, and while our hearts are heavy, we're endlessly thankful for the seven beautiful years we shared. She was family in every sense, and that's because this shelter gave her such a strong start. The love, care, and respect they show every animal make all the difference. Losing her reminds us just how special adoption truly is. Thank you for helping us find our best friend.

We've had her for a couple years and…read moreshe was always super leash reactive, barking at just about every dog, bike, and skateboard that she saw. I can't recommend SMS and Brenna specifically enough!

Fantastic experience. We have a highly, highly energetic 2 year old Wheaton Terrier (Tilly!)…read more During our consultation, Greg took the time to understand our specific goals we had for Tilly's training. He walked thru the training technique and schedule, being sure to answer any questions or concerns we had. We scheduled three, full day trainings - spread over 3 weeks so that we would have practice time in between each lesson. We would drop Tilly off in the AM, pick her up in the afternoon. When we arrived back at the facility, my husband and I had an hour with the trainer and Tilly to walk through what they went over in the day. We also got a "Report Card" after each lesson that highlighted how it went. Super helpful. Brenna trained Tilly on the 1st and 3rd day and Jada trained Tilly on the 2nd day. Each were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable. They walked through the training collar process, commands and walking habits. They helped Tilly go from pulling on her harness to complete loose leash walking, how to get into her "Place", how to heal, and how to stay focused while around other distractions (dogs, cars, people, etc). Facilities were clean, well managed. Highly recommend Sit Means Sit, Brenna, Jada and Greg!

The store is extremely organized, and the reptile and amphibian enclosures are well maintained. The animals all look comfortable and well taken care of. Their arachnid offerings are also always growing - we popped in recently and were happy to see they were selling jumping spiders (audax and regius). The service is superb, with a staff member always available to answer questions or offer assistance with any animals or behind-the-counter items. They offer live crickets and dubia roaches, along with frozen rodents, and other feeder Please consider supporting locally owned businesses like Reptile Rapture over the big pet store chains! i love reptiles, and this store is an "okay" place. they have a good variety of decor for habitats…read more the one thing i will say is how badly i feel for the animals. i hope at night they have some sort of alternative for the bigger reptiles. every time i go there, all of the reptiles are trying to escape, banging themselves on walls and scratching at them. they wander back and forth. one time i even noticed a lizard swaying back and forth against the glass, even put my hand in-front of it to block its view to see if it would stop just for it to move to the other side and continue to sway against the glass door which is abnormal behavior. all the animals are held in enclosures too small to be mentally stimulating, and the biggest tortoise they have is always banging its head against the wall to escape. every single time i've been there. now i obviously don't know much about the store and how they treat animals, but as far as i can tell they either need to sell them quickly or get the funding to make them more enriching enclosures. all of the reptiles are going insane. glass enclosures are also frowned upon because they can't really see it, so they are constantly trying to walk forward with no success and they end up confused and stressed.
