Two terrible experiences with the marine service and parts department yesterday…read more 1) On Tuesday I called about getting a PWC battery. I was told to call ahead of time so they can add acid and charge up the battery, no problem. I was told the battery was $172 (before taxes, etc). I called the next day to order the battery and when I picked it up I was charged $203 (before taxes, etc.) I told the salesperson that I was told the battery was $172, he didn't care, he charged me $203. 2) They add 3% if you use a credit card, but not if you use a debit card or pay by check. No problem, I get it, but I told them you should let people know ahead of time (I would have brought a debit card), the salesperson said "sometimes" we tell the customer (huh?), the salesperson could care less. The salespeople's attitude was that they didn't care at all that they screwed this customer. I'm afraid they have lost a longtime and repeating (PWC and ski package) customer. Maybe business is so good they don't care about customers.

They did an excellent job educating me about my new boat as this is my first boat after purchasing a Hobie Pro Angler from them years ago. They put a lot of time, attention, and detail into prepping my boat so it would be water ready. They worked with me to get all the features on the boat that met my needs. VIP Treatment with the boat pickup as they were flexible with scheduling, had a congratulations sign, everyone walking on the boat took their shoes off, they consistently offered drinks/restroom, their service guys came out to answer technical questions, and they highlighted critically important parts of the manual so I may quickly revisit for review as a lot of information was covered during pick up. They don't just want to sell you, but they want to make sure you are set up for success, you are safe, and you have an all around great experience on the water and with Buckeye. Customer oriented all around. Would recommend anyone give Buckeye the first stop before looking elsewhere.

I returned this morning just after it opened and was shown to their selection of Fastpitch softball mitts. We found a decent glove at a fair price and quickly checked out. I then asked if they had relacing kits and was told they were currently out but had the lace, but no needle. And then the man checking us out informed us that they offer relacing service. I showed him where my daughter's glove was broken and he said he'd have it fixed by 4 in time for her game tonight. This was excellent customer service as I was in a bind and it saved me from having learn to re-lace a glove for the first time on my daughter's glove in a time crunch. I interacted with 3 employees over two days and all gave us levels of customer service that I thought were long dead. Thank you, Play It Again Sports! See you in 6 weeks to get the rest of our glove relaced!

Because this is the main dance supply store in Akron, they are familiar with UA's Dance Institute (one of the studios I go to) and Cleveland Ballet. On the way in and out today I went through the alternative side entrance (which they opened because of the constant street construction in the North Hill district) which afforded me a good view of the back room where they keep all their pointe shoes.

When you're trying on shoes, they try to give you about three different brands to try. I've been using Saucony Everun Ride 150's, but my high school cross county and track coach who works here recommended some Mizunos to train for my half marathon in. I LOVE THEM! I've only ever used ASICS and Saucony, but I was blown away with my Mizunos when I test ran them. That's another thing! They let you test run the shoes! They always tell you to go outside their store and run some to see how they feel. This has been extremely helpful! Shoes I would have bought had I (not practice ran them) ended up feeling like they were gonna fall off while I ran or pinched my toes. Seriously, I don't think you should go anywhere else for your running shoes! This is your place!
