Buckeye Sports Center - Shame on you!!!…read more Saturday of last week I went to Buckeye Sports Center to pickup my skis that were being tuned and to pickup another set of older skis that I attempted to sell at their annual ski swap. My older skis did not sell and I needed to pick them up. I was late picking up my skis as a result of my Father's illness, death and funeral. Buckeye Sports Center informed me that because I was late picking up my skis from the ski swap that I was not entitled to the return of my skis or the 200 dollars that I was attempting to sell them for (for which I was to receive store credit). Please note that Buckeye Sports still had plenty of other skis in back remaining to be picked up, they just for a very odd reason did not have my skis. I gave my return ticket to the store clerk and he stated that their records indicated that someone had already picked up my skis. My response was, "well clearly you gave my skis to the wrong person." The clerk responded, "how do we know that" - implying that I was lying to him. Please note that I have been a customer of Buckeye Sports for several decades and as recently had 4 pairs of skis tuned by them. I asked the clerk to review the situation with the owner of Buckeye Sports who was in back and he did. The owner did not have the respect, nor the character, to speak directly with me and instructed the clerk to tell me that there was nothing ownership was willing to do. Thereby callously disregarding why I was late picking up the skis and completely ignoring the fact that the reason why the skis were not there was because his employees made a mistake and gave my skis to another customer who had similar skis. Mistakes happen, but there is no excuse for Buckeye Sports' poor treatment of me as their customer and unwillingness to correct the mistake that was made by their staff member. Needless to say, I will never shop at Buckeye Sports. Their actions yesterday demonstrate bad business practices and even worse business ethics.

They did an excellent job educating me about my new boat as this is my first boat after purchasing a Hobie Pro Angler from them years ago. They put a lot of time, attention, and detail into prepping my boat so it would be water ready. They worked with me to get all the features on the boat that met my needs. VIP Treatment with the boat pickup as they were flexible with scheduling, had a congratulations sign, everyone walking on the boat took their shoes off, they consistently offered drinks/restroom, their service guys came out to answer technical questions, and they highlighted critically important parts of the manual so I may quickly revisit for review as a lot of information was covered during pick up. They don't just want to sell you, but they want to make sure you are set up for success, you are safe, and you have an all around great experience on the water and with Buckeye. Customer oriented all around. Would recommend anyone give Buckeye the first stop before looking elsewhere.

Stopped at the store just after closing last night (Sunday) for the first time and when I peeked in…read morethe window to see if they had a large selection of gloves, a gentleman opened the door to answer any questions I had, which was very helpful. I returned this morning just after it opened and was shown to their selection of Fastpitch softball mitts. We found a decent glove at a fair price and quickly checked out. I then asked if they had relacing kits and was told they were currently out but had the lace, but no needle. And then the man checking us out informed us that they offer relacing service. I showed him where my daughter's glove was broken and he said he'd have it fixed by 4 in time for her game tonight. This was excellent customer service as I was in a bind and it saved me from having learn to re-lace a glove for the first time on my daughter's glove in a time crunch. I interacted with 3 employees over two days and all gave us levels of customer service that I thought were long dead. Thank you, Play It Again Sports! See you in 6 weeks to get the rest of our glove relaced!

I got my first pair of pointe shoes here, and as a retired professional, I return for my teaching shoes. The time and care they spend fitting pointe shoes is outstanding. They have a really wide selection of apparel, but unlike a lot of dance stores, it's not filled with a bunch of crap. They carry quality brands, for lots of different disciplines. The prices are really reasonable, and they have good sales. Also, it smells really good in here. Nothing beats the smell of a new leotard from Stage Center.

When you're trying on shoes, they try to give you about three different brands to try. I've been using Saucony Everun Ride 150's, but my high school cross county and track coach who works here recommended some Mizunos to train for my half marathon in. I LOVE THEM! I've only ever used ASICS and Saucony, but I was blown away with my Mizunos when I test ran them. That's another thing! They let you test run the shoes! They always tell you to go outside their store and run some to see how they feel. This has been extremely helpful! Shoes I would have bought had I (not practice ran them) ended up feeling like they were gonna fall off while I ran or pinched my toes. Seriously, I don't think you should go anywhere else for your running shoes! This is your place!

But they were a part of my development in regards to my passion for the out doors. Compared to AO, KY had a younger vibe and seemed to be more "on the edge" compared to AO which was more conservative. Just different philosophies, neither one is better than the other. In fact, I thought they complimented each other really well. I hope they are doing good. I am.
