It may not be as big as bigger cities (LA, NY) but I'm glad they had one. Here was my experience here. AMBIANCE: It's in more of a suburban area of Chicago. Relatively close (15 minutes) away from the airport and from downtown. The place itself is on the 2nd floor of a building. It seems like a pretty historic brick building with a spacious layout. The layout is basically one big floor to dance on with ceiling lights and string lights to bright up the place. The class consisted of a lot of talented 40+ which was cool as they had a lot of knowledge to share. The size is great for group practices and socials. Parking - Pretty much just street parking. Customer Service - Awesome! My instructor was Dawn Lara and she was great! Knowledgeable and friendly. I felt pretty welcomed in this place. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. I had a great experience here! The instructors were awesome and my classmates were pretty fun. One of the main things for me was always feeling will people be condescending and whatnot, but the vibes were pretty welcoming here. This was a good start to learning more about the dance community and scene here in Chicago, I just wish I stayed longer to learn more! Advice: * Check out their schedule online and on social media for events.

We worked with Natalie and Krystal to learn a choreographed tango for our first dance at our wedding and they were so full of enthusiasm and warmth all throughout that we knew we were at the best place to create something special and memorable. We were looking for a location primarily in Chicago to learn a choreographed wedding dance just a month out from the special day. Due to the time constraint, most places were skeptical or only wanted to teach the basics. We were referred to Natalie and from the first introduction, you can tell she would not only be fun but also invested in your success and confidence when it comes to the performance. At times, it also felt like a collaboration as Natalie was always open to incorporating our ideas and also didn't shy from challenging us to go bigger with moves we might not have considered but she believed we could accomplish. We switched to working with Krystal midway as Natalie recovered from a broken ankle (but who still showed up!) and it was a seamless transition. We also got extra practice time thanks to Natalie's husband, who also helped capture video, opening the studio while there was a winter storm. There are not enough compliments to give the Move the Beat family for how personable and genuine they all are. Come wedding day, we felt prepared, comfortable and excited to dance thanks to the creativity and instruction from Move the Beat. Their ability to break down, encourage, fine-tune and guide you through everything was natural and great. Well worth the visit from the city!

She is extremely supportive and encouraging to those that she works with and will go the extra mile to help. She took two people with subpar skills and made them look like pros. The studio is very inviting and decorated to make the young girls feel at ease when they start to learn to dance. Pricing is on par with other studios in the area. Miss Lorena is an excellent instructor. She is kind and really helps the kids to focus on dancing. Our daughter has really enjoyed learning basic ballet here and she has made some good friends there in the process. They have classes from 3 year olds all the way up to high school, so kids can work their way through the program and stick with the same group of friends. They put on 2 recitals per year and the girls get fancy outfits to wear. It is awesome to see all of their work pay off and perform in front of a large audience of family and friends. I highly recommend Lynette's to help your child learn dance.

The preschool classes do not have a limit on the number of kids enrolled which makes the small classroom feel tiny by the spring time (for example, my 4 year old's class started with 10 girls in the fall and ended with 23 girls in the spring, with only 1 teacher and 2 school-age helpers). Miss Lorena is great with the children and is the reason I kept my daughter at the school for the entire year. I will now be looking for a new studio that limits the size of their classes so that my child can actually learn some things about dance.
