I'm leaving this review because I've been waiting a month and a half for a callback from Danbury Hyundai. We have three ionic five leases from them. They could care less about keeping people with them. I am simply asking a question about the total care package and our mileage on the leases and I've left about seven messages all which go unanswered once they have your money they could care less about keeping customers. I have called finance. I have called front desk. I have called service. I've called sales. Nobody answers their phone. Nobody calls you back. do not give these people your business. I strongly recommend steering clear of this dealership's service department. The dealership had my 2022 Hyundai Sonata for approximately five weeks after I was informed that a part they previously installed failed, causing the engine wiring and wiring harness to melt. Despite this being a repeat issue connected to their prior repair, service advisor Nick attempted to charge me two separate diagnostic fees. His communication throughout the process was extremely poor, and he lacked the professionalism and customer-service skills needed to handle such a serious situation. When I requested my complete dealership file, Nick refused to provide it. Adding to my concerns, the repair appeared on my Carfax as being reported by a Fiat, Dodge, and Ram dealership--even though I dropped my vehicle off at Hyundai, not that dealership. I was not given a clear explanation for this discrepancy. I constantly had to push for basic information about my own vehicle while my legitimate safety concerns were dismissed. After extensive wiring damage connected to a part they installed, I expected transparency, accountability, and reassurance that my vehicle was repaired safely. Instead, the poor communication, questionable documentation, and refusal to provide my complete file left me with no confidence in Nick or this service department. Car was in just to have a look over and recommend anything that might need to get done, they said rotors a little corroded and squeaky, $800 to resurface em ... I reluctantly agreed and was told it would be about a 2.5 hr wait 3) about 90min into waiting they said all 4 pads need replacing too (this is an EV with under 25k miles ... brakes are almost never used b/c I use the regenerative for like 99% of braking), bringing the total up to a whopping $1200 ($580 per axle) for pads and resurfaced rotors 4) as kindly as I could I told em I thought I was being hosed (specifically said that I'd get the work done this time, but at the price they quoted for just resurfaced rotors and pads that I'd likely not be coming back to this place w/o figuring out how to get another opinion / quote) , which was likely a mistake b/c im writing this review from their waiting room, where I've been holed up for 5+ hours now, more than double the time I was told this could take ... it's 6:25p as I type this, and most all staff inside dealership left over an hour ago, im in here with the cleaning crew ... dude did just come from service area to say they still working on my car and that they haven't forgotten about me ... the cars that came in well after me have all been serviced -like almost 2 hours ago the last person in waiting room got their car back... again, this is for new brake pads and resurfaced rotors on a car with only 25k on it (which internet says most competent shops should be able to do in 1-2 hrs). 5) at checkout they gave me voucher for a free detailing "for the wait" ... dude was like when you bring it in for detailing it'll be a couple hour wait!! lol ... Let's face it- the overall car buying experience is stressful- but these guys are horrible- asked to see what was still available for sale on the lot for a car and trim level only to be asked which car do you want- did not ever answer the question and showed the wrong car and trim- then presented a true-car price and was told they would not honor it. STAY CLEAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!!!! My mother in law just recently purchased a 2025 Hyundai Tuscon. She was promised floor mats, wheel locks, and get this.....a manual for the car. Her salesman was Christian. She waited weeks with no follow up whatsoever from Christian or the dealership. My mother in law proceeded to physically go to the dealership yesterday to finally receive these items and was very frustrated by the lack of professionalism by the salesman Christian. The customer service from the woman in the "Service" area was very frustrating. I needed to come in to have a light bulb replaced on one of my headlights. I was told by one person that there was a 2:00 pm appointment today, and she took my car's VIN# and the make/model of my Hyundai and called me back very shortly to confirm that they did indeed have the correct light bulb in stock to be able to replace the burnt out low beam light on my car. I said I'd definitely like to come in for the 2pm appointment if it was still available. She said that it was, took down my information, and she was very friendly and helpful. All good, so far! When I got transferred from the woman in Parts back to the woman in Service, however. the new person said there wasn't any appointment booked for me. Then, even though the 2:00 time slot was indeed still open, she said that was a "Drop Off" appointment slot, not a "Wait" time slot, so I couldn't wait there for the car. I asked what time they closed, and she said 5pm. I said I was willing to waiting up to 3 hours, if need be...I could do some work in the waiting area. She said that, no, the first available "Wait" time slot wasn't until next week. I said I needed to get the bulb changed as soon as possible because it was illegal to drive with only one headlight at night. She provided no understanding, no cooperation, no flexibility to accommodate my needs to simply get one bulb replaced today...within a 3-hour window between the 2pm appointment time and the closing time of the shop. this is in regards to my overall experience, particularly service at stamford hyundai which is owned by this dealership, and i can't imagine things are better here. There are too many reasons why this dealership gets a plethora of one star reviews. And also not to mention they are not associated with the Better Business Bureau - that is because in order to be associated with the Better Business Bureau you need to agree to their practices which clearly they have not and it shows very blatantly... and to be honest with you, you are better off putting your car on a tugboat and sending it to Korea to have it fixed. it will definitely be back to you in a more timely manner and you will probably get quicker updates via international mail then this dealership, because i have received ZERO and have had to call and stay on them every day! the incompetence of this dealership is mind-boggling and it is beyond a sorry excuse.. Service is absolutely abysmal. Very slow, ill informed and not particularly friendly. Long waits to see a service advisor. Many employees sauntering around aimlessly with seemingly nothing to do. This dealership is awful. There is no way I would ever again buy a Hyundai, not because the cars are any better or worse than others out there, but because the ownership of this-- and the Stamford dealership-- is so incredibly sneaky. It seems that the whole staff seems to have adopted that stance. My car was recalled for a door that locked and remained locked due to a manufacturing error. It was RECALLED. I had the paper. I called for the appt two weeks before the appointment. The service rep suggested it would be best if it was left for the night, in case it took late in the day to be repaired. I made those arrangements. Not easy, as I have moved 15 miles farther away than when I bought the car. Around 2 pm I received a call to say they DIDN'T HAVE THE PART. What? For a recall they knew about for two weeks? Through text messages the service rep suggested it would take three hours to fix it. I asked for a loaner. No such luck. After I called and left a message for THE service manager, I received a return call from 'A service manager,' who told me no loaner because those are only for big jobs, and it would take JUST 90 minutes to fix the car. Not three hours, 90 minutes. So.... to the original Service department employee who booked my appointment and suggested I leave the car, and to the agent in the garage who told me 3 hours, this service manager told me they were 'wrong' to have given me that information. My next call is to those two men to let them know that 'A service manager' who called herself Marie thinks they don't know how to do their jobs. Stay away. They are rotten! read more

My first and the absolute WORST car buying experience, DO NOT COME HERE! if i can give it negative stars i would. I come in to look at a car and we settle on the price. they told me to come end of the week to sign. 2hrs go by and the system is down they tell me wednesday the following week to come in. I Get a message saying an emergency came up with the salesman, no problem i understand inconveniences happen. next day rolls around and turns out the car with 10k miles has a transmission issue! I decide to look for another vehicle and came across a honda on the site. We settle for the Honda they tell me they'll get it all cleaned for me. i show up and get the paperwork done but can't leave with the car so they tell me to come in the following Monday. They tell me they can't do it because the DMV is closed. I show up the next day with my mother and the car isn't detailed at all, the oil is due and plates aren't ready again so they give a me a dealer plate. As we're there a salesman by the name of Ernesto hits on my mom, a married women. she tells me shes uncomfortable so we leave and we did leave with the car. As we get home she receives a message from Ernesto, mind you i didn't work nor even know his name so how did he get the number i imagine through their system which is invading our privacy. I tell my salesman and he says they'll make it up with the detail, oil change (they were already supposed to get that done before the car left) and some mats. I come in and they "detail" the car once again not so detailed just a little better than before. they tell me to come in the next week for oil and mats. i show up they can't do the oil and mats weren't ordered. i set an appointment the next week. i show up mats haven't come in and they can't do the oil again! turns out they set the wrong day for oil and couldn't fit me in. i'm currently at 6hrs total of missed work hours to come in and get work done. i now don't have any upcoming days for oil and still waiting on mats. if you do want a hyundai i would recommend another location. Purchased GV80 Genesis two years ago. First of all I wasn't taken serious because I am a female. The sales person was arrogant and dismissive. With this purchase, you receive concierge service. Up until my last service, I can honestly say it's been going great with minor hiccups. Like not ordering a part prior to the scheduled appointment. Now my car is due for regular service and have left several messages and spoke to the same person in service promising me someone would get back to me. That was four days ago. My concierge hasn't returned my calls as well. Genesis is made by Hyundai and now there is a question about the continuance of servicing the Genesis. Probably the scummiest sales manager I've ever met (Brandon) tried to sell me a $17,500 listed used Hyundai Tuscon for $27,000 ($34,000 after financing, taxes, interest). He was the opposite of transparent, tried to lie about insurance rates, and was just generally one of the skeeviest people I've ever been around. Then when I came in the following day and called him out on his bull****, he had the nerve to get angry saying I was wasting his time. I called for cx-5 price at 23900 with no accidents and and spoke to salesman said they had it ready for me to look at and drive. When I got there, it was sold and they let me look at one for 26k with more miles. When I kept asking about its history it they told me it was coming from a lease and no accidents. When we crunching numbers and the end, it was 24500, and when I went equifax on the history of the car, it had an accident, and it was major. They lied to sell me the car also when they were showing me the final bill at 30 grand. I asked for a breakdown they wouldn't show me. I know taxes and paperwork would be up to 2grand. Abusive fees posted on 5/9/2023 The dealership responded by saying it was standard for these fees to be charged and that it covered other administrative costs, and this was standard. My response refutes that with supporting points, including text taken from DMV and an upcoming statute that would cap these fees to 1% of the purchase price. I have detailed a response that refutes this, including text from the CT DMV and an upcoming statute that would cap these fees to 1% of the purchase price (effective October 1, 2023). How would they capture the excess (in my case, an excess fee of ~$1040 on docs/conveyance)? I paid $1299; according to the upcoming statute, my doc fee would have been capped at ~$260. FIRST I would be remiss not to acknowledge Brendan Doty, the salesperson, for his perseverance and for presenting me with various choices. I gave him four stars, and he deserved better. My recognition does not imply that Brendan gets five stars because he was giving me a great deal. Brendan was doing his job and attempting to deliver at a price that was helpful to his employer, which is indeed his job. The five stars are my recognition of his patience and professionalism in presenting me with options. The people at the back end of the deal, the higher-ups, muscled in and played fast. A new law on capping Doc/Conveyance Fees was enacted on October 1, 2023. In case readers do not make it to the bottom of this response/review, I have included language (verbatim) from January Session, 2023, Substitute House Bill No. 6544 from House of Representatives, March 28, 2023, the General Assembly, State of Connecticut. My response continues after making you aware of this forthcoming cap on fees. "No dealer may charge a dealer conveyance fee or processing fee that is greater than one percent of the selling price of the motor vehicle." That is welcome news, and we are thankful to The Committee on Transportation and REP. LEMAR of the 96th Dist., Chairperson of the Committee, on their thoughtful response in passing this provision A vehicle purchased for $26,000 (unsure if the tax is included in the cap) will allow a dealer to charge a maximum of $260 (1% of $25,000) as opposed to $1299 for their various "administrative fees" to quote Danbury Hyundai. Review/Response Continued... Here is where it gets misleading. "Regarding our conveyance fee, it covers a number of administrative costs, and we generally find that it is in line with what other dealerships charge." There are seven boxes under the Document Fee section, six of which do not apply. The other six relate to financing a vehicle, and one relates to registering the car. At the bottom, it says that if a person does that on their own, they will deduct $50. Follow the logic here, folks: seven boxes, of which one box accounts for $50 (their document, almost certainly required by disclosure laws). If you have seven boxes and have listed the cost of that linen item to the customer, why not list the remaining six? That way, a customer can know exactly how you arrive at $1299. What exactly is the customer paying for if one or more of these line items does not apply to a transaction? The administrative costs are indeed listed under the seven lines, but if any of the six lines do not meet the definition of administrative costs (again, almost certainly required by state disclosure law to list these items), I quote a line from https://portal.ct.gov/dmv/vehicle-services/register-dealership?language=en_US . Don't complete your registration transaction with any dealership charging more than $25, and immediately notify the DMV. Again, for clarity's sake, this refers to the dealer registration fee, which still leaves room for them to charge for the additional items. I would not recommend buying a warranty through the dealer (or using the dealer for maintenance). They're near impossible to get a hold of, every time I call the service department the phone rings a few times then disconnects, if you call the main line you'll get transferred to service, no one will pickup and the mailbox is always full. If you ask someone to call you back..good luck I've left multiple messages with people (and a voicemail with the service manager) and a week later I still haven't received a call back. Given COVID constraints they weren't able to provide a loaner but said they would set me up with enterprise down the road. This was Tuesday. I checked in with enterprise daily, I was #2 on the list and by Friday they still didn't have any vehicles. I was finally able to get a hold of the service manager at Hyundai who said they'd sort it out and give me a call back. When I called enterprise on Saturday they finally said I they had a vehicle I could rent..I finally received a call back on Monday with an update on my car (but never an update from the service manager) that it should be ready early the next week. So we drove HOURS down to our credit union and we're about to leave to the dealership and suddenly NOPE, it SOLD. But they have the PREMIUM for +$10k MORE. Won't discus any deal via phone. We gotta drive another hour to the dealership to discuss. Gave up and drove hours home. Next day, I contact the dealership again - guess what? They HAVE the same make and model we wanted to buy, but now it's +$8k MORE than listed on the website. I've filed complaints with the CT State Attorney's General and Dealer Complaint Department. Danbury! Shopping for cars for my mom ,found a car here we liked called ahead to let them know we were interested because we live 30 plus minutes out. Was told car was available, even had a warm exchange from the sales rep evan and kept up commcation through text. Got there after they were closed cause Evan was waiting for us. Again no mention of any issues. We get there and Mom loves the vehicle after a test drive. We've been searching for 3 weeks! Again time isn't a luxury we've had. Mom puts deposit immediately, this was Saturday night and they are open on Sunday. Get a call Monday at 10:44 am. ALL OF A SUDDEN The car was sold earlier in the day on Saturday!!!! What what ??? Even before Evan told us he would hold the key and let us know if he sold it before we got there , is what I asked? " Oh the manager who knew didn't tell the managers who were here!! ( sounds like someone at the dealerships liked the car also because how could that happen) This is unacceptable! Then he tries to take the blame for it but it wasn't him it was management and their system! No offer of a solution, tried to offer anotherv car that wasn't close to what we had deposited on. The greed of these people allow them to not have some system that allows people to know a deal exists on a car already. They play with people's time and emotions cause in their nind the cars gonna get sold and that's all that is important. My mom was distraught and this was totally avoidable. You think management called me at all no they had Evan call a try to take the blame ....THATS DISTURBING. I'm not buying the story especially since I've seen this before from these greedy dealerships!! Be careful, I'm in sales and I'd never treat anyone like this. Hyundai of Danbury is just trying sell cars regardless of your experience! Cause what do we matter as potential customers, someone else will by it ! It was a terrible situation and again I blame the lack of an accountable system that alerts potential buyers of a deal on a vehicle or thats its sold. Others dealerships have this in place and I guess I'll take our business there! Or was the car just such a good deal that they didn't want us to have it either way. They have lost my business, and I don't recommend doing business with this type of dealership. Terrible experience here. The service department is completely horrible. Had a new engine replaced that took 4 months. Replaced due to the GDI system burning oil too fast. Got the vehicle back with ALL kinds of problems after that. Every time I took it back it was something else but still always had the same issue. Had me replace transmission, cat converter, tried saying it was the cat again, then transmission again. All to find out now it's the shift solenoid. They refuse to take blame and fix it when the car has not ran since I got it back from the engine replacement. Filed a complaint with BBB. The service is garbage. It's always a new team because they can't seem to hold on to employees. Don't ever buy from here and NEVER use their service team. read more

I love my new Genesis G70; however, the offer of excellent customer service at this facility is fraudulent. They put on a big show, but once you sign the check it disappears. My brand new vehicle had an inconspicuous dent in the back door jam. I noticed after 3 days. I now believe they were aware when they sold it to me. My new car needs bodywork and they don't have time to address it...and it's been months. So disappointed. Don't be duped. I fully support getting a Genesis vehicle, just not at the Danbury location!!! read more

Their response time needs to change. Calling and calling and no one answers the phone. I currently have a problem with my current vehicle. The information as to my issue that i expressed to the person i spoke to was not how it came across to the service department. thusly my problem was not resolved. asked to speak to a manager and was told at 930 am that i would get a phone call back in a few minutes. 3 calls later @ 130 pm a manager calls back and schedules an appointment for the next day and makes it seem like i didnt relay my information correctly. read more
