Every member of the staff was excellent, making a point to stop by our table and warmly welcome us on our first visit. My martini was excellent, and our server recommended a local gin that was fantastic. The chocolate cake was also delicious and clearly homemade with care. Overall, our experience was very enjoyable; however, the menu is somewhat limited and may not appeal to everyone. The wedge salad and shrimp cocktail were both enjoyable, but the eggplant dish was unfortunately extremely salty and nearly inedible. The whitefish melt was just average, and the bread-to-filling ratio felt unbalanced. That said, we are eager to return and try other offerings as the rotating menu changes. Wishing Rae's continued success and the best of luck moving forward!

The Shrimp Cocktail ($15) looked straight outta Wegmans plastic packaging! Charging $15 for…read moresupermarket shrimp is really obscene. Iceberg Wedge ($18) was fine, though the 'ranch powder' was an odd choice. Blue cheese dressing did not taste very blue-cheesy. Calamari ($25) wasn't fried and it was 2 -- count 'em -- tiny slivers of squid in a tomato broth. For what it's worth, the broth was pretty tasty. Chicken Schnitzel ($28) was NOT pounded paper thin -- it was more like a fried breast. The breading was fine -- savory but very flimsy. Beef Tenderloin ($32) was oversalted, but the temperature was decent. The braised celery it came with was incredibly bitter, though the shiitake mushrooms were pretty 'meaty'. The beef felt overpriced for the small portion size and the taste was pretty underwhelming for -- again -- the pricepoint. Should come with spinach or potatoes of some kind to feel more substantial. VERY (HOPELESSLY) WEAK dessert program: a single option for ice cream (Alleyway Vanilla, $5) and digestifs. Yes, you read that right, the dessert program is literally just ice cream that isn't even made in-house. Kind of bizarre for a restaurant that charges Brooklyn prices. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Several in my party ordered their homemade fettuccine with a basil cream sauce and added chicken. This dish was completely tasteless and cold. It looked like the sauce and pasta had been stirred together and sat in a pot for most of the day. A member of our party ordered a pasta dish that didn't come out of the kitchen correctly. The waitress was sweet and put in a new order to the kitchen. It took the cook over an hour to cook pasta and marinara sauce. The owner came to our table and was extremely abrasive and retaliatory and completely shocked everyone at the table with his behavior. He was unapologetic and very rude! He also appeared to be under the influence of much alcohol. The only reason that anyone should return to this place is for the beautiful atmosphere and for the excellent waitresses. The food is awful and the management is even worse! These fantastic servers should find a place to work that appreciates them.
