Chicken Schnitzel ($28) was NOT pounded paper thin -- it was more like a fried breast. The breading was fine -- savory but very flimsy. Beef Tenderloin ($32) was oversalted, but the temperature was decent. The braised celery it came with was incredibly bitter, though the shiitake mushrooms were pretty 'meaty'. The beef felt overpriced for the small portion size and the taste was pretty underwhelming for -- again -- the pricepoint. Should come with spinach or potatoes of some kind to feel more substantial. VERY (HOPELESSLY) WEAK dessert program: a single option for ice cream (Alleyway Vanilla, $5) and digestifs. Yes, you read that right, the dessert program is literally just ice cream that isn't even made in-house. Kind of bizarre for a restaurant that charges Brooklyn prices. NOT RECOMMENDED.

She walked into the back and disappeared for a awhile, then emerged and said the owner confirmed my reservation so she would "find me a table". No apology, acted like she was doing us a favor. We were seated at a table in a small separate area by the window that's normally reserved for people with no reservations; it was warm and uncomfortable but I was still hoping for the best. Cocktails were good but diluted with too much ice. We started with the Nonna's meatball appetizer, which was fairly tasty but served barely lukewarm with some cool spots. It arrived at our table less than 1 minute after we ordered it. (Maybe reheated in the kitchen?) My quarter chicken with carrots was a paltry portion for the price and suffered from overly aggressive use of the pepper shaker. Given our offhanded treatment I was hoping for a birthday treat or at least a greeting by the mysterious owner, but none were forthcoming. After the meal our server just said "happy birthday" and handed me the check. Partner's "Paloma Lisa" cocktail was listed on the menu and chalkboard at $13 but we were billed $14. Not a big difference, just an additional petty annoyance to an already unpleasant evening. We paid, tipped and left. I rarely give two star reviews, but that's about right for the birthday "non-celebration" delivered by The Print House. Maybe they were having a bad night what with the art gallery party, but there's just no excuse for lackluster food coupled with truly bad customer service. One and done.

This is clearly a motel. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. They do not have a "front desk ". We found someone in the tavern who was able to check us in. Some of the wedding guests struggled with their reservations and were charged more than what was promised when booking the block of rooms. It took several attempts Via email and cell phone to get this rectified. We were shown to our room and I was immediately disappointed. The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The first thing we noticed when we walked in the door was the musty, damp smell. It had a basementy smell to the room. Our room had two queen size beds that were as hard as a rock. There was no dresser to put your clothes. They did have a couple of hangers and two small shelves for storage. The carpet was dirty. There was a small table with two chairs. The table was all scratched up with chipping paint. The worst part was the flies! You know it's a bad sign when there's a flyswatter available in your hotel room!!!!! On the morning of departure, I pushed the toggle switch to turn the light on by the vanity and it popped off. My husband who is an electrician, popped it back into place but the light still did not work. As we were leaving there was no one at the hotel to notify of the broken switch. The following day we received an email stating that we would be charged for the "ExtensiveDamage" to the switch and vanity light! We responded to their email and stated that the switch and the light were intact and we could not understand what extensive damage they were referring to. We also reminded them that there was no one around that we could communicate this to, prior to leaving. I have never stayed in a hotel of such poor quality and customer service.
