I want to start off by saying that the guys that did come to the house were polite and tried to do their job. However, I was asked to send an email with pictures of everything that I had as it got closer to the moving day, which is exactly what I did! I had a lot of stuff and I sent videos and pictures of all of it. When the crew showed up, they brought a small truck with only three people. They end up having to call more people and get another which in the end costed me an extra $1700 on top of my quote. Things were broken $5000 bed ruined $1500 hutch chipped legs broke off. Then when they went to go put the stuff garage because we couldn't get into the they put the stuff for the in the far back corner of the garage the stuff from the basement around that and then the stuff from all of the around so it literally took us seven days just to get to the box with sheets in the very back of the garage! The whole time the only thing that these guys were worried about was how long they were going to have to work that day! When I texted the number to tell them that I was unpleased with the service, the owner or manager, they really didn't specify. Then told me that they would give me $200 for all of my broken Christmas stuff and totes, but instead of compensating me, they would come and pick up my bed to fix it the China hutch or they would give me $.60 a pound!! for the bed they may be giving me 600 bucks if they follow through I still haven't heard back from them!! I moved in a month ago! I do not recommend this company! Everything was botched the crew didn't communicate with Office or vice versa. Nothing was treated with respect and then at the very end after all of this, they pretty much have told me that they have no intentions of compensating me for the total amount of damages!! read more

I had to clear the basement for home renovations. Dan the Moving Man was recommended by a neighbor. I shopped Movers but DMM had the best quote. The movers were great - professional, hard working and courteous. They had the whole job done and dusted and in my storage unit in just under two hours. Bought furniture and they use you for delivery s, on time , they did a fantastic job with delivery and set-up.

This is the second time we used Dan the Moving Man. The first time we were very pleased with their services. The crew the second time was on time, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, we had damage to some of our furniture. Scratched pieces and a recliner with the stitching pulled out. They removed shelving from our book shelf but did not remove the pins so more than half of them were lost. We had a small stainless steel refrigerator that took several large scratches and a dent. They did not protect our carpet from their shoes so carpets got pretty dirty. We had planned to have them move our things into our new home but once we found out they had no way to protect the flooring we decided to do it ourselves. Sadly would not recommend. read more

Every element of this move included them going above and beyond. They worked well with a very fast schedule for an 1800 mile move. Their price beat everyone else I got quotes from by a long shot. Zach(?) was truly incredible and communicative, never expressing anything except true joy, even despite a moment where his glasses broke and we didn't have a way to quickly fix them. Delicate items (guitars, Peleton, artwork) were all handled with the utmost care and while some wooden furniture received very mild damage (damn that cheap IKEA particleboard) I was extremely pleased. BEWARE! I asked a while ago for suggestions for a moving company, a few people suggested Dan the Moving Man which I ended up hiring. Never again! There's a major lack of communication between the staff! I was told by a woman when I made a reservation for May (I ended up not moving until Aug.) that I didn't pay the movers their wages for their travel time which I ended up paying for. Ended up we had to get a second truck, so I took a guy to uhaul to pick up another truck, it would have cost me 79.99 for 2 days plus 69 cents per mile and they charged me $650.00 bucks! They also inflated the hours that they were actually there. Also the loading of the trucks went great but the unloading was a drop and run. All the boxes and bins were clearly marked on where they are to go, yet there were 26 boxes that were supposed to be in the house left out in the garage and 3 boxes that were marked garage were in the house and when I called to complain all I got were lame excuses. Plus I got a text asking how it went, so I told him and he never responded back. This company is a total rip off. Be very careful if you decide to use them!!! Beware of this business. Seriously. Got a quote to move a desk and 3 empty sets of melamine drawers (these were small storage cabinets approx 24" wide, 40" tall and 20" deep). All cabinets were on casters. Items were to be picked up from a garage and delivered into walkout basement. Quote was $200.00 and was about 30 miles door to door. Quote was accepted and date was set. On moving day movers were late (not a huge deal) but they jacked up the final bill to $325.00. They charged extra for a 'mask fee' (fee was hourly for each delivery person and there were two guys) but had zero explanation for why the final bill was over 50% more than the estimate other that 'it was an estimate'. Was contacted by the company a few weeks later to see if we would recommend their company and said "no, we would not recommend". Then got a call from the owner who wanted to 'make it right'. He offered a $75.00 refund and we accepted and he said "I am writing the check right now". Took three weeks to get the check. Here is the kicker...TODAY we received a letter from our bank stating the check was written on a CLOSED ACCOUNT! This is FRAUD! It seems this company lacks ETHICS all the way around. We didn't post anything anywhere prior to this but I could not in good conscience keep quiet. So BUYER BEWARE, Dan the Moving Man in Eau Claire is a very unethical business. Asked for cash price and did get discounts but not worth it. They rushed through loading and didn't protect furniture well. Lots of damage. Received 60 cents a pound, well under repair costs. An employee kept items and kept saying he would bring them. Went on for nearly 6 weeks. Lots of issues that were not adequately resolved. Try someone else read more

We just had Dan the Moving Man help us move my mom's things from LaCrosse, WI to Inver Grove Heights, MN. In short, they were great. We had a two man crew, Duncan and James. They came in, took a survey of what to take and what not to take, and then they got going. I was impressed with their efficiency, their strength and their perseverance. We had a LOT. They worked together to take the items in a way that they could pack well. We had little chats as they worked (I opened the door to keep the house from freezing from being left open all the time). We had some unique items/antiques and they handled those well. A few of the bins did not have covers and they gave me a chance to either find a cover or make something to protect the contents. This was my first time using movers, and I was very happy with their help. I would definitely recommend them (and I do not always say that) and I'd use them again! read more

I moved to Menomonie 6 years ago and asked Dan to help me move my furniture into my house. He said he would be there on that Saturday. HE NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with this moving service. This is the second time I've used them. The first time I was moving out of town about 9-10 hours away and they not only are an honest, trustworthy company but are reasonably priced! I ended up moving back to Eau Claire years later and went to them for a local in-town move and had the same experience with them again.
