I had to take my child here for a very complicated toe infection that was not responding via urgent care, nor her pediatrician, nor a double round of antibiotics. Dr. Morano was first of all, extremely competent. But the icing on all of the cake was his amazing sense of humor and dad jokes, how genuine he was, sensitive & gentle. Diane was our receptionist both times. She is incredibly sweet and probably the nicest receptionist I have ever dealt with in my life. I'm 45. And honestly, I have pretty high standards, finding myself frequently mentioning that so-and-so should never deal with the public or choose customer service as a profession We received excellent care in an extremely warm and inviting atmosphere. Booking the appointment on the phone was easy and the receptionist was empathetic, kind, and extremely accommodating for a semi emergency. Basically, I would look **forward** to a holiday dinner if I had Dr. Murano and Diane there. If you are not familiar with the area... You cannot really head left out of the parking lot to leave but we found a different way around. Not an issue for this second appointment at 6:20 AM... Thank you so much for having a before school appointment! But it was for an appointment during rush hour, the previous Time. I really hate that intersection. I never thought I would say it, but I'm actually going to miss our Pediatric Podiatrist! Five stars in every single way. I highly encourage you to go there if do you need adult or pediatric care for your foot. I hope that other people who have such a wonderful experience also choose to post reviews!! Thank you, both.

I should note that Dr. Gimbel moved his practice from 677 Massachusetts Avenue to 22 Mill Street Suite 307 a long time ago. Also worth noting is that Dr. Gimbel retired two years ago. His practice was taken over by Dr. Irina Vasserman who continued to see my mom up until yesterday...August 31, 2017. Due to reasons beyond the scope of this review, Dr. Vasserman has closed the Mill Street office and is leaving Arlington. She will continue to practice out of her other offices located in Chelsea and Canton. Our primary care physician provided us with the name of another podiatrist who is located in Cambridge. Dr. Vasserman provided copies of my mom's records and my mom will be starting up with a new foot doctor in October. ------------------------------ Update ------------------------------------- This morning, we received a robo call from Dr. Vasserman. Apparently she has decided to stay in Arlington, and, will be sharing space in suite #206 at 22 Mill Street. Her hours will be limited. As of now, she will be available all day Monday and Wednesday mornings. She is hoping to be able to offer Thursday hours as well, but, that is still a work in progress. If she is able to see patents on Thursdays, my mom will be returning.

I was never seen barefoot and I never wore sandals or open toe shoes. As my mother had a bunionectomy at my age, and the pain was getting worse and worse with each passing year, I was very nervous to have two different surgeries. I had heard nightmare stories of how painful the process is and I was suitably terrified. When my friend's mother saw my feet she informed me that she had suffered bunions as well, and had gone to Basile for her bunionectomy. I couldn't tell she'd ever had bunions or the surgery- and I listened when she recommended him. I'm so glad I did. Basile did a bunionectomy and a toe shortening on my right foot to correct a deformity and a straight forward bunionectomy on my left. Both surgeries were in and out with no complications. For my right foot I was out of work for 4 weeks- for the left 2. I was able to get back to the gym in no time and I can honestly say that I am in less pain than before the operation and I'm not self conscious anymore. Basile explained the procedure and what I would need in detail. He was diligent in letting me know what to expect and gave me very realistic expectations. I would- and have- wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a surgeon.

He did a bunionectomy in which he cut my big toe too short but swears he did not. The top of my foot is still puffy with scar tissue after 5 years. He cut a ligament in my second toe and now it sticks straight out, won't bend & is swollen with scar tissue - he never advised of the consequences when discussing how to straighten "hammer toe" which wasn't that bad. He promised to fix the baby toe & pushed it so close to the other toe, that it causes big, painful corns. Where he cut the big toe bone, I now have arthritis and it's remained painful & inflexible since surgery. I just had it confirmed yesterday with another podiatrist, via X-ray. Basile blamed me for the scar tissue, too. He has a reputation of blaming patients for their problems post-surgery.

After taking the biopsy, she told me I could either do acid wart remover bandages with regular follow-up appointments for 3 months, or we could schedule a surgery. I would have preferred we just do the surgery off the bat in that first appointment, since you're already going about 80% of the way with the biopsy. I was told results would be in within 10 days and I should come back for re-bandaging in 3 days. I cancelled the re-bandaging appointment because I took care of it at home and had no issues. Never heard back about lab results. No emails or voicemails. A week after I should have had results, their office location near me closed down. Oh well, guess I'll do acid wart removal at home and just take care of it myself. But now, well over a month later, I get a bill for almost $600 after insurance for those labs. She made no mention of any lab cost whatsoever. Absolutely ridiculous.

In addition, the bill lists a $250+ out of pocket cost for a treatment I didn't receive. I call the office & tell them I believe the bill may be incorrect & could they please call my insurance to confirm that the correct service code was used. I get a call back the following day stating that Dr. Vasserman says she used the correct code required by my insurance (apparently she does her own billing?). I ask if they checked with insurance & they say "no". I say I will call the insurance & hang up. I don't know where those positive reviews came from, but if you look carefully they are from awhile ago and now I wonder if they are real. Again, stay away!

I had had such a great experience with Dr. Alper the first time, that when my son's doctor gave me the name, I recognized it instantly. My son has had ingrown nail issues as well and has had to see Dr. Alper twice, so far, and will need to return two more times very soon. That said, even my 14-year old son, who has doctor anxiety and nearly passed out in Dr. Alper's office on his second visit, likes the dear man. He's not crazy about what he has to have done, but because Dr. Alper is so kind, efficient, great at what he does and is personable, my son doesn't mind going back to him. Now, if you can get a teen to admit to that, that's a pretty good endorsement.
