My family, starting with my parents, have been in the real estate business buying and selling homes in Southern California since the 70's. Goes without saying we've used many real estate agents over the decades. We've had some good ones and we've had some truly horrible ones. I myself have listed 4 homes for my family since 2000 or thereabouts, the first with another agent and the other three with Dan and Brian. When I think back on the service I received from the first agent only two words come to mind: adequate and self-serving. Needless to say I never went back to this agent for the remaining three.
My mother suggested a real estate team, Brian Moore and Dan Mancinelli to handle the sale of one of her properties. Initially I was working with Brian, a truly wonderful and skillful agent. When the renovations on the property were completed, Dan took over the marketing. We formed an instant friendship. Dan was completely in tune with my qualms about getting the property marketed successfully. He and Brian hit upon an ingenious device to make it more marketable. They took a fairly unattractive piece of real estate with some potential and gave it a swanky 30's Art Deco feel. The move was genius. The property received 8 offers after one open house, some over list price. And this was in 2010, right after the 2008 economic crisis when the market had tanked so this was not an easy market to be selling in.
Fast forward to 2019 when I had to sell a small SFD rental owned by my mother since the 70's. The tenants had lived in it for 35 years and had left it a horrible mess when they vacated. I knew there was only one agent I could call on who had the skills to get me through this nightmare, and if you guessed that agent was Dan Mancinelli you'd be absolutely right. I felt a little embarrassed walking through the house with him and Brian because these guys regularly handle properties that list for 1.5 all the way up to 2 million dollars. Mine would fetch maybe 600K if I was lucky. Yet Dan never once gave me the impression this was one he'd like to forego in favor of a pricier property to invest his energies. On the contrary, he rolled up his sleeves and went to work. I marveled that he could give this shabby little ugly duckling more loving care than most owners. He had a team of expert contractors to call in to whip it into shape and inside of 2 months the property was on the market. Once again it fetched a price over list. This is one thing you'll notice about Dan. He has a knack--some would call it a "gift" for getting his clients hundreds of thousands of dollars above list. That's how good he is.
I could bore the reader with details about the last property Dan marketed for our family. It'd read almost exactly like the previous ones.
When I think of Dan there are some words that immediately come to mind based on my long history with him: integrity, honesty, dedication, patience and skill. With an emphasis on all five. This is what I have come to know are the qualities that Dan absolutely will not compromise on in representing a client. I make very few guarantees in life, but here is one guarantee I would stake my reputation on:
You will never regret giving Dan a call and asking him to represent you, whether it's listing your home or asking him to be your agent as a buyer. He will do his utmost to give you the kind of exemplary service you'd expect from an agent who has built a reputation for having one of the best track records for successful sales in this area. And for the record, Dan did not ask me to write this review. I asked him if it would be okay for me to put him on Yelp. Why? Because he is the best agent I have ever worked with and I can say with supreme confidence you will never find a better agent than Dan. Thank you, Dan for all your hard work over the years. Giving you that call in 2010 was one of the best decisions I ever made. read more
