It's like she would run away pretending they were busy becuase she knew there were issues . Bartender was good. About 4 other people eating at this time. About 6 other people at bar drinking . So bartender can handle 6+4 and all happy but kitchen, host, and server staff can't handle 9 people eating at once ? Kinda hard to run a restaurant like that. Maybe should try being a bar. Got 3 steaks all ordered medium . One was medium , one was well done, one was just burnt . The wagyu sushi was the most overcooked meat I have ever eaten. Was in Japan less than month ago and ate wagyu every day ; this was not Wagyu . Was not sushi . Was just scrap burnt meat piled in seaweed. This is not maki. The table was not set . For the pricing , I would expect the table to be set . Drinks were wrong and never refilled in a two hour dinner . This is a random small town, but based on pricing you'd see in Boston, Atlanta, New York - it is not the quality they are asking for . Especially not the service . Every menu item didn't match the descriptions Plating was well done , thats about the only compliment . Place is tacky inside , stairs to go to bathroom, weird temu valet light spinning at host stand , weird Star Wars stuff and other weird stuff mixed into decor . Kitchen looks angry , stares at you when you walk by Fish overcooked and dry McDonald's level cooking execution of what seem to be well made recipes , plated like fine dining , and in the setting of a dive bar , and prices of Morton's , and the taste worst than any restaurant I've eaten at on a 30 day road trip including chain restaurants . Need new FOH and BOH manager , and all new kitchen staff, need to redo decor and pick a theme, need to fix menus to match dishes , and get new servers . My wife and I took Mom out for dinner. We arrived slightly after opening, there were a few people already seated at the bar. We opened with adult beverages and fried green beans. I opted for their Brooklyn with my wife and Mom decided on the Great Lakes Holiday Ale. The green beans arrived and we started munching on them while pursuing the menu. Their fried green beans are a delicious must have! We ordered our meals. We all got something out off our normal choices. I decided the Ike & Tina Tuna and my wife their Chicken Pad Thai. The Street Noodles we're pretty good with the description being very vague on the menu. The best thing was probably the Mala string beans which had a good sauce and was nicely spicy. I would give DLX 5 stars if it wasn't for the customer service that I received at the door. While we got there right at open, there's apparently and expectation that you have a reservation(which we didn't have) and at least momentarily they gave them impression that they would be unable to serve us because we didn't one. We got seated after about a 10 minute wait and we had an amazing meal however I did notice the restaurant never did get past 1/3 capacity. We had a fantastic meal at DLX and absolutely the best service ever or anywhere hands down. Our server not only anticipated our needs, but she also offered pleasing suggestions that enhanced our meal and made the entire evening memorable. The service was great! Our server was very attentive. However, the prices do not reflect the quality of food. The shared appetizer (valentines special) tasted like it was a frozen meal. Not that great for the price. The sushi was pretty good though! Solid quality but slightly overpriced. The drinks were very good! The tiramisu was not evenly soaked in the coffee mixture and tasted "syrupy". Personally, I do not believe it is worth the price. China Club at old location was best restaurant in Mansfield before and food just as good, but new location is beautiful setting at corner of Main and Park Ave West across from Central Park in center of a revitalized town center. New location has large tables and comfortable leather covered mid-century modern iron frame chairs. Nice open setting with hanging strings of lights in hipster setting. Definitely an expensive upgrade. Eclectic menu as before (see photos). Brussel Sprout salad was and is still a treat, sushi rolls are always changing, braised ahi tuna still great choice, Pad Thai with scallops was raved about. Beef tenderloin served several ways always good. We will be back, China Club in better location and atmosphere, same good service and fantastic eclectic cuisine and even live jazz on this Thursday night. Dinner on Friday night with 12 people was fantastic, I didn't think one server could do such a great job. I think we tried almost everything, rave reviews on Pad Thai with shrimp which were large with tails removed which most Thai restaurants leave, good preparation and presentation. Happy Family was liked by Asian novice at table, "War au Gai" chicken was passed around and lived by all, Chic Fil A should make their version and have new tradition. Pepper steak was most popular choice and no complaints. I don't see a dish that wasn't cleaned of every crumb. Well worth the cost of about $50 per person with reasonable priced libations. Get reservations on a Friday night. We stuck 14 people at our table for 12 because so busy tonight, is every weekend like this for a restaurant only here one month? I wish the Pang Gang Gi was a crispy and a little less salty. However the orange chicken was everything you would want in the dish, savory with a hint of sweet and a surprise orange burst. I would have rated 5 stars up until my last experience there- which I would rate as a 1 star. I ordered the $65 oscar filet, and not only was it not good and not worth that price, it was disgusting. A great steak in Columbus isn't anywhere near that price. What can we even say about this incredible place. It was a shining star in a sea of blah. When looking for a place to have dinner there were lots of other places that came up, but after walking pst Dan Lew's we KNEW we wanted to eat there. We arrived and we're greeted by a lovely man who sat us immediately. The place is lovely and inviting and felt more like the places were used to back home (New York) than most of what we'd seen around Mansfield. Our server (who was also bartending) Laura, came over and took our drink orders and brought me samples of two wines when I described what I was looking for, it was like she KNEW me haha. We also asked for guidance on the food as we weren't familiar with the menu and DAN LEW himself came over to our table and sat down and broke down his menu for us and steered us in the right direction for what to order. I've never been to a nice restaurant where the owner has PERSONALLY come over and made recommendations. Was such a nice personal touch. Laura was lovely the entire time, attentive, kind, and even though she was doing two jobs at once, I never felt like I had to wait on her. She's GREAT at what she does. I bought a bottle of the local blueberry moscato she recommended and the next day we went to Apple Hill Orchard Farm for donuts as per her recommendation! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Husband had a shrimp dish (either orange shrimp or general tsao) that was just DELICIOUS. I had the bucatini which was so filling (in the best way). You could TASTE the quality and freshness of all the ingredients. We also had the calamari to start and the sweet chili dipping sauce was to die for! Dessert was the size of my head and the chocolate cake was even better the next morning when I had the leftover for breakfast! Past couple years this place has gone downhill. The fresh, flavorful food we used to get is now tasteless over priced smaller portions. We ate there Tuesday night 7/16/19 only because my husband's boss wanted to take us out & it was the only place open on a Tuesday. I had left overs & took them home. My server was a tall guy with braids on the top of his head that should be a lawyer or car salesman he lied so much. I asked was the Calamari fresh and he said of course. For $28 I expect hand cut fries; fresh Cole Slaw and Fresh Fish lightly battered. My neice got gumbo with Angel Hair Pasta..for 4 people, $159 is not expensive- unless; the food came from GFS ‍I am mad at myself I did not take pictures. I was mad the server basically scolded me for asking about fresh fish/Lobster and let me know the restaurant was high end and even the Mayor was there. For a high end restaurant to allow him to wear faded jeans and a t-shirt, that was yet another lie. I am no slouch and I eat at all the fine dining establishments in Columbus from M; Ocean Club; Hyde Park to J Gilbert's and have NEVER had my intelligence insulted as I did in Mansfield. I grew up here and expect the racism, but bad food disguised as HIGH END...with elaborate pricing for precooked - pre prepared GFS type of food is disgusting. Not a Chinese authentic food restaurant at all, but it is worth to try. We ordered the lobster martini, the Pad Thai and the Singapore noodle with curry. The lobster martini was good in presentation, and there were enough lobster tail and tuna for 2, as appetizer. The shrimps in the pad Thai and Singapore noodle were juicy and fresh, but the food used too much oil and a little salty for us. Over all, the best part of the experience was the environment, cozy and modem design pleased us. However, the food is just so-so in taste with high price tag.
