Been going here for the past year in a half when I was pregnant with my son up until now 6 months…read morepostpartum. I genuinely love this office. They've made me feel so comfortable & are so easy when it comes to scheduling. I've seen a few different drs and I can't say anything I disliked about any of them. Highly recommend this place.

If you want an office that will actually care about you and treat you like an individual and not be seen by robots, do NOT go here. We recently moved to the east valley and needed a new OB as I have a high risk pregnancy due to my previous medical history. I explained to them on the phone if this was someone their office could handle and I needed to see an OB not a nurse or a midwife due to the complications of my pregnancy. I was scheduled for an ultrasound and "doctor's " visit. The front desk seemed more concerned about their nails and hair than doing their job. I had to redo the same paperwork 3 times because the girl upfront kept deleting it. The ultrasound tech was rude and just seemed annoyed we were there. She has zero personality. While the medical assistant was extremely nice; she did not seem to know what was going on; her nails were longer than her fingers which don't seem professional in a medical setting or even sanitary & she was chewing gum with her mouth open as she spoke to us twirling her hair and ignoring most of what I was saying. I was seen not by a doctor but a nurse; she 100% ignored my questions and concerns. I was then told thy were not going to do anything but have me come back because " we don't even know if you have a viable pregnancy " I was 6 days earlier than we thought and instead of being professional she was rude and heartless. This causes so much unnecessary stress. We got TWO second options that same week and they BOTH agreed the due date would be moved and baby was healthy and growing and there was NO reason to say what she said especially since I am still nursing and there is zero way to know the exact date of conception. When I told her what she said " no you HAVE to be this far along and you're just not matching that " It causes so much unnecessary stress but the way the entire appointment was handled was unprofessional and has zero human compassion. The only reason that I even stopped to wright this review was because the front desk called me today to verify that I canceled my apt. When I said yes I decided to go with an office with better bedside manner her response was " oh yeah that TOTALLY makes sense " and laughed and hung up.

I always felt like every decision made was my decision, with information and recommendations from Dr. Holmes. *He is very smart, and always makes sure to word things so they are easy to understand. *Dr. Holmes has an A+ team. I loved that he was the only doctor and felt like the entire team was truly invested in my care. Alejandra goes above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable, and happy. She even remembered my husband's name when he visited. The office runs smoothly due to her hard work and calm, friendly personality. Laura is helpful with setting appointments and always gets back to questions/voicemails quickly. Terri answered all of my insurance and finance questions even before my first prenatal appointment. This team will make you feel like part of a family. *General perks: office easy to get to, no long waits usually, right next to Banner Desert for delivery, available appointments without waiting months. Overall, couldn't be happier with this team's hard work and so very thankful for our new healthy baby. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

I should start out by saying that I received good care from Dr. Holmes and his staff, and delivered…read morea healthy baby girl by C-section, which he skillfully performed. However, here are the things I wish I had known before I chose him as my provider: There were times during my labor and delivery that he didn't know who I was. He kept confusing me with other patients. This was entertaining in some instances and not in others - for example, when he confused me with someone else who under no circumstances wanted a C-section. My baby's heart was in distress, my own heart (with a documented and discussed history of arrhythmia) was tachycardic, my water had ruptured more than 30 hours before (a month prematurely), I was running a temperature, and I was only dilated to a 2, and yet *I* had to be the one to bring up the possibility of a C-section. He was shocked when I did, because he thought I was vehemently against surgical intervention. This, despite the fact that two days before at my 35 week appointment, we literally shook hands that he would lean toward C-section if things went south. Another instance of him not knowing who I was: my water broke at midnight, so I called the answering service. They took my name and gestational age, and within a minute I was speaking to the doctor who informed me to head to Banner Gateway. I saw him the next morning, where he looked at my chart and expressed surprise that I was only 35 weeks pregnant. This could have been dangerous if my baby had been any more premature than she was, as Banner Gateway isn't as well equipped to take care of premature babies as Banner Desert is. Even if the answering service failed to tell him my weeks of gestation, shouldn't he have asked? Or shouldn't he have remembered, considering I saw him 12 hours before that phone call, at my 35 week appointment? At first I thought it was neat that he spent so much time with his patients and that he does all the ultrasounds personally. But ultimately what that means is that he and his staff are over-extended, and you WILL wait at each appointment; possibly up to an hour. I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't just hire an ultrasound tech to re-distribute some of the work, because lord knows the man has plenty of demand. (I even had a hospital staff member say to me incredulously, "He sure delivers a lot of babies...") I assume he just doesn't want to pay another staff member, but the entire practice suffers as a result, and it doesn't look good for him. Tip: If you choose him as your provider, get into the habit of asking for the very first appointment of the morning. (And even then, you might have a wait, depending on how his early-morning rounds at the hospital go. But it's your best hope.) The ultrasound equipment is ancient; forget about seeing clear images of your baby. You'll be lucky if you can make out a spine or a head. My best friend was pregnant at the same time as me and the difference between our ultrasound photo keepsakes makes me sad. I had no concept of my daughter's face or profile before she was born. The office itself is very old and tired and decorated like an 80's Relief Society room. There's a Book of Mormon in the lobby. (I'm even Mormon but found that off-putting.) At my first appointment, they gave me a little trinket that I got the strong impression was intended to be distributed in the parking lots of Planned Parenthood clinics - a pin showing you the size of your baby's feet at 10 weeks, and I think there was a scripture? If I recall correctly? All of this to say, I did not get the impression that the doctor would be supportive of all of a woman's options and rights when it comes to pregnancy. At my six week follow up, he talked about prescribing me a birth control pill that could have caused my milk to dry up. Luckily I was informed enough to know that as a nursing mother I needed a pill without estrogen - but if I hadn't known that, it could have been disastrous to my milk supply. Also, as soon as I left my six week follow up, I realized he never cleared me for sex! I thought that was the whole point of the six week appointment!! It was never mentioned. I don't plan to have any more children, but if that changes, I won't be seeing Dr. Holmes again. He's a very nice man and his team is as wonderful as all the reviews say (Alejandra in particular is a true gem), but everything considered I cannot recommend the practice.

Unfortunately, I personally had a poor experience. -Providers are overbooked, and discussion of a serious issues must occur over a series of individually billed 5 minute encounters. -Provider forgot to remove speculum and started to leave room. Stated she was distracted trying to remember how to discard a Paragard IUD. -Provider suggested that systemic side effects are not possible with Mirena because it "only works locally." -Provider did not recognize "headache" as a common side effect and cause for removal of Mirena. Despite discussion that hormone free birth control was desired due to migraine history and triggering of migraine via hormonal birth control, Provider still recommended Mirena. -Provider suggested I "do my reading" and could always "call" to switch the prior auth request from Mirena to Paragard, which I went along with to be agreeable. When I called for this very purpose, I was told I needed another encounter for the change. -I had a superficial telemedicine encounter with another provider for minutes, to put in the auth request for Paragard. I prompted the Provider to make additional educational statements regarding IUD options and procedure prep to little avail. -When I experienced a complication following IUD removal and called in about it, I was informed that the only way I could share information with my care team would be in another separately billed encounter. I declined to schedule this.

We will tell everyone we know to stay as far away from this place as possible, and if the social media team tries to act like this didn't happen I'm gonna go ballistic with receipts. Run from here. The office staff is always warm, and welcoming, and Dr Alperin is the best! Dr. Alperin is definitely one Doctor Who cares for his patience. He asks questions about how you have felt prior to coming into his office for a well women check up and if you have had any complications during the past year. My wife absolutely loves him and he has a gentle bedside manner. He is extremely easy to talk to, and that makes for one heck of a great doctor patient relationship. It has been 10 years and we expect to be coming back as long as Dr. Alperin decides to stay in this practice. I came into the hospital praying that my OB could be there or at least a female as it's a delicate situation in a tender place. So when he came in the triage room to introduce himself, I was quite surprised! I'll tell ya... I am SO beyond grateful that he was my doctor that night. There was not one moment that I felt rushed, or that he was frustrated with my many attempts to stop pushing because it hurt. In every way, he was calm, gentle, encouraging & extremely respectful. My mother-in-law (a doctor) and sister-in-law (a NP) were talking about how impressed they was with his bedside manner & skill as a doctor. If you want to feel respected & empowered when you deliver your baby - he's a great person to seek out! I wish I was more with it in the moment to say thank you & recognize what all he did to make sure my son came to the world safely, but hopefully this helps in a "thank you!" My husband even joked after that he wanted to be his friend because he was so kind! Thank you Dr. Canestraro!!
