The 2008 vintage has won them a silver award and rightly so.

There was only one place to get food, which had tri tip sandwiches, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chili dogs, and nachos. The tri tip sandwich was surprisingly good. It was so good that I ordered a second. Although this tasted amazing and all, my only gripe about the food was that there wasn't any variety. The bar area had limited types of alcohol as well. They only sold wine, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, White Claw, and Coors. There was a second bar located at the bottom of the hill where the stage was located, and it had similar selections. All seating at this venue was general, because it's basically one big grassy hill. With that said, you'll want to bring a low lawn chair and/or blanket and then find your spot on the grass. There was a dance pit right in front of the stage, and anyone could go down to it. I was impressed by how good the sound was especially for an open venue. We were sitting towards the top of the hill for the most part and were able to hear the singer clearly. The venue itself was pretty. I loved seeing the rolling Hollister Hills in the background behind the stage while the sun set and casted beautiful colors. There was also a clear night sky, so looking up to the stars and the Harvest full moon while rocking out to some favorite classics was truly romantic.

Yes, Ozeki is a cheap sake that you typically get at a Japanese restaurant, served as a hot sake…read more(i.e. atsukan). HOWEVER, what an epiphany after talking to Ozeki staff and sampling their most basic sake that was poured -- it was GOOOOOD. Served at a room temperature, this sake that is sometimes sold as cheap as $5 per 1.8L, was very rich and flavorful. They said that this cheap sake is usually their first choice of sake because no imports can beat freshly made one. Unfortunately, in many cases stores and restaurants have Ozeki that's more than few months old (or sometimes a year old). They said pretty much all sake should be consumed young, even if it is not "nama" (i.e. unpasteurized). Ozeki does not offer regular tasting/tour at the facility, so call ahead for a special appointment if interested in visiting.

Arranging a wine tour with Steven was the best decision we ever made. And it was surprisingly affordable when split among all of us (just be aware wine tasting fees are not included). We no longer had to figure out who would be the DD, found amazing wineries and vineyards that could accommodate our large party, picked us up from our AirBnB, and escorted to check in at each location. His limo was clean and well stocked and very comfortable for everyone. Steven observed all covid protocols (masking, distancing, partition up) and made us feel extremely safe. His itinerary was amazing. We set off at 9:30 (he was early, but was so patient as we finished getting ready), and then got us to the first winery with time to spare. The second winery of the day served food, which was perfect as we had just started to get hungry. Every stop had different things to offer, and we felt we had a good sampling of Paso. He even stopped by a Starbucks when we said we needed coffee after the third winery. When we finished, someone in our group realized he had left his phone in the limo after Steven had driven off. Steven drove back and delivered the phone to our front door. We had a wonderful experience with Crystal Wine Tours and will definitely be using them next time we are in Paso!

All terms of our service were laid out and he was extremely responsive to messages. He helped me figure out time estimates so we could squeeze as much as possible into our schedule.
