I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Rubanenko and her staff. I was in San Diego attending a conference and my back went completely out. I was in extreme pain. I called their office and she told me to come in right away. She and her staff were amazing. She tried several different things to get me some relief. She explained things that would help me in the short term as well as the long term. She and her staff went the second mile as we call it at my job. While I am still in some pain, there is no way I could have made it to the end of my conference had I not gone to see her. If you need a great chiropractor I highly recommend her. read more

I'm visiting from out of town for a conference in downtown San Diego. Dr. Rubanenko fit me in the same day. It was a cheap Uber ride to her office. When I first arrived, I could barely walk due to lower back pain from traveling. By the time I left her office, I felt a million times better, and walked out of with a huge smile. I wish she was in my home town, as she's best chiropractor I've ever been to! I would highly recommend to anyone!! read more

Highly, highly recommend Dr. Rubanenko! I couldn't be more grateful for the help I've been getting from her after my car accident! I had neck pain and low back pain, so with adjustments, that wasn't painful at all and needed exercises that Dr. Rubanenko showed me I feel so much better! I am incredibly lucky to find Dr. Rubanenko when I needed help, she is super knowledgeable about human body and cares deeply about the wellbeing of her patients. read more

Dr. Rubanenko is awesome. I've gone to her many times over the years for different kinds of ailments that puzzled other doctors or PTs. She does physical therapy and soft-tissue work in addition to adjustments, and she's a great out-of-the-box thinker so she has always been able to help me figure out what is ailing me even if it takes a while to heal. She is great at headaches and also all kinds of hip and knee problems. Sometimes she works you out and gives you exercises; sometimes she does ultrasound or stims; sometimes she does deep tissue massage for a little while before she does her adjustments. (she is an awesome masseuse but obviously as a doctor she can't do that for an hour like a massage therapist can). She is also incredibly kind and genuine and loves her patients. And she's really helpful about squeezing people in on her schedule when she hears you are in pain. She also sells orthotics, which has been incredibly helpful for me. I never thought I needed them but they make a big difference in my posture and have definitely helped me with pain. Finally, she is very kid-friendly. I don't like to take my child when I go in (too distracting!) but I see her helping other people who don't have childcare, and she keeps the child distracted while she works on the parent. An all around good soul and great doctor. read more

I've been procrastinating for a few weeks and finally pulled myself away from my routine to leave a review. My story goes back about one year when I first began having issues with a stiff and sore neck. My work is mentally demanding and so I thought it was just stress. The pain would come and go. It was dibilitating and I had problems sleeping. The pain and stiffness would also cause issues when driving. It hurt to turn my head when viewing blind spots. I needed help. I visited a couple of massage therapists but the solution was only temporary. I then reached out to physical therapy through my medical insurance. I showed up four times. Physical therapy did nothing for me either. It was then I realized I needed to enlist the expertise of a doctor. I came across Dr. Dalya after a quick Google search. Luckily, her practice is within a five minute drive from where I work. I've been visiting the Dr. for a few weeks now. Dr. Dalya has improved my quality of life tremendously. Living with pain is not smart. Dr. Dalya and her staff always make me feel comfortable and at ease. Since I started treatment, I sleep so good and I'm no longer constrained when driving and changing lanes. More importantly, the pain is almost completely gone! Thank you Dr. for accepting me as your patient. Ernest read more

I first visited Dr Ruby after injuring my lower back. I had a 9-5 desk job and it was starting to become unbearable. The very first appointment she was able to work on my back, and walk me through various strengthening exercises. It only took a couple more visits along with daily exercises on my own and my back was feeling stronger than ever after a couple months. 2 years later my back still feels great. I moved out of the San Diego area but I will always know how to care for my back because of my visits to Dr Ruby. She is not like the many other chiropractors who will expect you to constantly revisit for more adjustments. She will set you up to be self sufficient and truly cares about your health. Her schedule seemed to be getting more busy but it is well worth the time if you can work with her calendar. I have went to several other chiropractors and all were either mediocre or negative experiences. It has been a while since we last spoke but thank you for everything Dr. Ruby read more

I had the unfortunate experience of being involved in a car accident. I feel very fortunate I was referred to her, she's very patient and takes her time to evaluate her patients. She was able to successfully diagnose where the pain is coming from. Thanks to her experience and treatment I am doing a lot better now! I'm able to exercise and continue to work and provide for my family! I highly recommend Dr. Ruby and Jocelyn! read more

Dr. Rubanenko has been amazing. I had been suffering from neck and mid upper back pain for over a month. I thought it would go away with time, but no such luck. I had had enough. My friend recommended Dr. Rubanenko. I called expecting to make an appointment for the following week, but she got me in that day. I have now been back a few times. I still need some work, but the treatments have been such a relief. Dr. Rubanenko is so personable and caring. She is thorough, careful, and efficient. Her staff is great as well. I have been going to the Barrio Logan location, which is a convenient location for me. I actually look forward to my appointments, knowing that I am in good hands and am getting closer to being pain free. read more

I'm so happy because after starting my weekly appointments with doctor Dalya the neck pain that I've had for the last year is almost gone - I get massage and do excercises that are making me feel better and also improving my posture. Extra points to this doctor because she always has yummy snacks when I'm feeling a little hangry :) read more

I felt uncomfortable coming here. Dayla Rubanenko seemed scatter brained. She seemed more concerned about payment than me, her client. She was rushed and all over the place. I found a different chiropractor that spent more time understanding my issues and helping me with exercises that would strengthen muscles. I definitely feel more comfortable than I ever did here. I came 4 times just to see if it got better, it didn't. Her massage therapist was fantastic though. read more

Seven years ago I was referred to Dr Rubanenko by my OBGYN because of the severe pain I was having in my neck, shoulders and back. I had a 1 year old at the time and was struggling to care for him as it hurt so much to pick him up or hold him. Dr Rubanenko (Dr Ruby as my kids and I call her) was a miracle worker. She was patient and gentle with me as she helped figure out the source of my pain and came up with a clear plan on how she was going to help me. After a couple months of being treated by Dr Ruby, I was back to feeling normal again and living life as a young mom without pain. I continued to see Dr Ruby through my second pregnancy. I was not sure how chiropractic treatment would be during pregnancy, but Dr Ruby was great. She helped with some sciatic pain I had as well as help with alignment and back discomfort when my belly became heavy and big. I had pregnancy massage work done throughout my pregnancy and it significantly helped with the aches and pains of pregnancy. My children are now 8 and 5 and LOVE Dr Ruby. She is so incredible with kids, I have always appreciated how welcomed my whole family has felt even when it is just myself being treated. My kids have even been adjusted by Dr Ruby. Before I saw Dr Ruby I was a little unsure about chiropractic care and especially pediatric chiropractic care, but now that I have been seeing Dr Ruby and understand how it all works, I am 100% comfortable with her adjusting my children. My entire family loves Dr Ruby and I would recommend her to any friend or family member. read more

I began seeing Dr. Ruby 4 months ago after my 9 yr old son & I were in a car accident. Since then, she has helped us with far beyond chiropractic care. She gives the best massage and adjustment - she is gentle yet strong & can always zero right in to those ouchie spots. She's also amazing with kids and my son always looks forward to his adjustments. She does see a lot of patients towards the end of the day, so if you're in a time constraint, I would recommend coming earlier in the day. Her and her staff are extremely kind, fun & down to earth and the offices have a very relaxed laid back setting. I know Dr. Ruby genuinely cares about her patients health & well being and she's straight forward and honest. She comes highly recommended. I rarely go out of my way to write a one star review...but I had to in this case. I found Dr. Ruby on Yelp because I was looking for a chiropractor that specialized in working with pregnant women, and she had great reviews. I made a new patient appointment and came early enough to fill out paperwork (about 10-15 minutes before my appointment). An hour later I was still waiting, even though I had checked in twice with the front desk to ask about the delay. I was told that she had scheduled two other "new patient" appointments before mine. There were others in the waiting room who had appointments after mine as well...so it was backlogged. When she called me back, I told her very calmly (not angry) that I was disappointed that I had really been looking forward to this appointment for two weeks, only to be seen an hour after my appointment time, and that I have two young children at home with the childcare arrangements that go with that. She literally said to me "This is not a spa". I was shocked. I could see a nasty/snide reply if I had been rude, but I had not. Then she went over the forms I had filled out and informed me that the insurance I had did not cover massage, only adjustments and that she massages all the pregnant clients. She asked if I wanted to pay x amount of dollars extra and I said no. Then she went on to complain about my insurance and say that she might as well be seeing me for free because of how little she is reimbursed. I think my mouth must have been hanging open....it was so unprofessional. I wanted to leave at that point, but honestly I had been in pain for two weeks waiting for this appointment so I just stayed. She said a few more things about how I had filled out a lot of things on the forms and that she had to match that up with treatment for insurance, and that I needed to fill out two more forms before I left and then (!) she asked me to make it easier for her and not put too much information on the forms. What!!??? Is this an episode of What Would You Do? The adjustment was minimal. A crack at each hip, a stretch of each hip, and a crack of the neck. That was it. Then she put me on a rolling table which hurt, so I got off it and went to the front to fill out the last two forms she wanted me to do. By the way, I filled them out completely because that is how I roll. Then the lady at the front tried to charge me $15 for my copay, and I told her I had called my insurance that day to make sure that my copay was $10. She asked if I wanted to pay $15 and then have a $5 credit for a future visit and I said "No, I won't be making another appointment". I left in more pain than when I arrived....which I blame on the rolling table. A couple days later I got a voicemail message from Dr. Ruby saying that my copay was $10 and she also apologized for being so late, but kind of took it back by saying "It Happens". She did not apologize for being unprofessional and discussing insurance things that she should have kept to herself. I am honestly a little afraid to post this review since, she has a lot of personal information of mine including my social security number, but in fairness to anyone else that might have the same experience and wonder if they are the only ones.....I thought I should write what really happened. read more

Dalya has magic hands! During my pregnancy (and after) she helped me keep my back, hips and shoulders feeling good. After enduring several months of lower back pain brought on by exercise during pregnancy, I was desperate for some relief. I'm so glad my OB referred me to Dr. Ruby. I was such a mess with chronic sciatic and lumbar pain. After the first session, I walked to the car for the first time without hobbling in months. I wasn't skipping just yet, but I was in spirit! She also taught me some helpful ways to avoid extra strain on my back, and to avoid further injury. Her treatment really made a difference in my quality of life, and my recovery. If you think you need any sort of spinal adjustment, which most people with a desk job could use, then come to Dr Rubanenko. She is more than just a chiropractor. What is happening to me is nothing short of a complete miracle. I had been taking pain medication since 1985 - non-stop - and still had horrible pain and disability in my right hand and arm. When I arrived at Dr. Dalya Rubanenko's office - I was a complete mess. Now, I have been taking NO pain medication for over almost 2 months. AMAZING!!! I have complete functioning in my right arm and hand. Yes, I still have the arthritic pain in my two fingers and I still have the Carpal Tunnel pain- but NOTHING like it was. I have gone for Chiropractic care for 35 years and had lots of different techniques and doctors. I have never experienced the level of expertise, caring, competency and compassion that Dr Rubanenko has. The fact that she regularly kicks my ass is an added bonus. She has reached me on a level that no doctor has ever reached me on - especially on the matters of my diabetes. What I do know is that I have more energy and life force in me than I have had for 25+ years ... I am completely shocked and unbelievably grateful. I'm thoroughly committed to doing whatever I have to do to be totally in control of my health. On some levels, I feel better than I have felt since I was in my 30's. To be pain medication free is a complete gift - and miracle that I am taking very seriously. read more

I had a sharp stabbing pain in my middle back and ribs area. I was traveling to Europe the next day so wanted to have some improvement before the long flight. Dr. Rubanenko took me in the same day. When I showed up, I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for her to take me in. She found the root of the pain, performed her treatment, which included a massage that really helped relax my back. She even brought in another dr. to confirm her diagnosis. He agreed with her. She gave me a list of things I can do at home and during my trip to help the sharp pain. I didn't even have to do many of these exercises, because the next day I had ZERO pain!! I couldn't believe it. I've been to many chiropractic practices in my life, so can tell with conviction- she is amazing and one of the best in her field! read more

Dayla is great. I went to someone at her office as I was recommended to them by a co-worker. Ironically, the chiro I was seeing had canceled on me that day and I hadn't gotten the message in time. Dayla was the sweetest and told me that she'd be able to take me as a patient so that I wouldn't have to re-schedule as I had taken off work. Best thing that happened. She not only treated me THAT day (got me on a stretching table right away!) she recommended a pain management doctor for me as well. SI joint pain is something I do not wish on anyone (not even an enemy!)... so I was relieved when she was able to treat me, show me stretched that I could do at home, and recommended someone to me to help with the acute pain I was dealing with while I got on the long road to recovery. Dayla knows her stuff and is committed to giving great care. I am really glad I found her. read more
