Two words to sum up my experience with Jimmy Smith…read more ...Exceptional Service... I worked exclusively with Francis and had a first-class experience. I live out of state and will absolutely go back to Jimmy Smith Buick GMC based on the efficient and personalized care afforded to me and my family. If you are looking for a no-nonsense car buying experience, look no further.

I have a 2004 leSabre with right at 106 thousand actual miles on it. A while back Jimmy Smith said I needed some major engine work done. They did the work and my gas mileage went from 400 plus miles per tank to 300 - 275 miles per tank. I carried it back to them and was told I had a gas leak that they repaired and I had to paythem for doing. wonder if it was result of the engine repair work? I must still have the gas leak because my gas mileage has not improved. I have told the service personnel at least three times and they act like they are scared of it. This past Monday I brought the car to them because the front passenger window would not go up. I was told that they had to order the parts, they would call me Tue when the parts came in. They also said the speaker cover was left off and would be put back on when the window was repaired. Tues at about 12:30pm I called and the lady said oh yea the parts are here, I said I'll be right there. I live in Harvest. At about 3:30pm we were told it was ready. We paid $458.58 (parts were $171.17) and left. When we got home i noticed a hole in the speaker cover, it is about one inch square. I want to know if this is the Jimmy Smith standards? Is this the service I would get if I had a new Buick or GMC. My car is almost 20 years old making it close to time for us to get a new car, But do I want to get it at a place with these standards, I don't think so. I know I should have found the hole in the speaker cover before we left there But if you choose to answer my concerns I would love to read or hear it. I have posted this several times and in diffrent places and i have heard Nothing from Jimmy Smith. I am about ready to buy a new car but I doubt it will be a Buick from Jimmy Smith after this experience??? Update as of 15 Aug 2025:  I had a problem with the car. I found a mechanic and he replaced the ignition modules and coils.  This is something the "major" work jimmy smith did should have included.  It runs like a new car now. I am hoping I get the 400+ miles per tank again. Thank the Good Lord...

I cannot say enough good things about Rocket City Motors! Dan and his father were amazingly kind…read moreand accommodating while purchasing our car. The financing was hassle free. The car seemed to have no troubles, until the sixth day (a Sunday). We had noticed that the car was having troubles starting and while at a family friends house, the car died and would not turn over. I called the dealership and got a voice mail (they were closed. I had the car towed to my house and was gearing up for a fight. Dan called me back completely apologetic, and offered to reimburse me for the tow to my house. That Monday he located a mechanic close to my home, (we live about 45 minutes away from Athens) and arranged to have it towed and fixed at his expense. The mechanic took longer then promised and Dan called me every day to assure me that he was doing every thing he could. In the end the issue was resolved with no added expense on my behalf. Dan has continued to go above and beyond and I will be buying every car from him from now on.

This is a extremely terrible TERRIBLE company to buy a car from. Today we looked at a 2003…read moreVolkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg edition that we've been in contact with them for about a week, maybe two on. Dan, the owner, was very nice and polite, at first, to talk to, his father was even nicer. All of that politeness coincidentally fell off when we took the vehicle to an actual mechanic. Dan noted that the car has no A/C and that they had parts coming in to fix it (not a big deal for me personally), they also noted that the vehicle had bad tires and they would get new ones the following day or so (which they did). Anyways, the first test drive I noticed the wheel felt like it was going to fall off, the brakes were decent but not good, the car had a faint smell of oil, there was a check engine light, and the transmission felt like it wasn't hooking properly, also a non working sunroof and no A/C but that's alright. We tell them all of these things, and they claimed that tires would fix the wheel wobble issue (it did kind of) and that the sunroof was a lot to fix and the A/C would be fixed soon, the other issues they blew off. Come a few days (today), we went as we were about to buy the car but took it to a personal mechanic because we're not idiots. So, we bring the car to our mechanic Phoenix Motors on HWY 72, and come to find out the vehicle had been in a wreck (you can tell by the difference of color on each lower control arm and spring) as well as a broken axle that is just SPITTING GREASE EVERYWHERE (this would be the reason behind the wheel wobble that never went away). An finally, the car was burning oil and leaking LOADS of oil out of the cars turbo, in-fact, the car was SMOKING after a short drive to Madison from Athens, and finally the brakes are warped on the car. So, we take the car back to Rocket City Motors where we immediately say that we were unhappy and that they had lied to us, and Dan suddenly became hostile stating that we should go back to a dealership that messed us over before and said, "Wow, it's funny how I just drove it today and there were no issues on the car besides a wobble, now suddenly there's all these issues from a drive to Madison." PATHETIC. That was just my mom talking to him as I'm only 18. I didn't wanna be rude or anything, but as I was following my mom out the door, Dan said, "Do we wanna be rude or nice?" and I was kind of confused so I just shrugged and said I don't know what you mean and told him I can tell him all of the issues on the car that we found (he didn't even listen to my mom he just kept being a complete ass) but he did the same exact thing to me and said I DON'T CARE JUST LEAVE AND GET SCREWED OVER AGAIN. This is honestly one of the worst bets of a dealer you could go too. I would go somewhere else if you'd like a proper working vehicle. Very childish.
