Parker did an excellent job of giving us the history. We started out with a steak and baked potato that was very good and cooked just the way we ordered it (which far too often is not the case). Next to a Salvadoran restaurant for pupusa. Absolutely fantastic. Continuing on for street tacos and finally a mango ice cream with tajin and delicious sauce. Tour also included a trip to the arts district and a very interesting background on top ten records and Salina. Overall a fantastic experience! Note that tix are only refundable within 24hrs of purchase and not within 24hrs of the event. We left the parking lot behind Crate & Barrel on Knox about 15 minutes early, since they were able to verify that we were all present. The van was the right size for the group, not a large bus like I've been in before. It was a nice van. I totally forgot to take a photo of it, as we walked around the corner, saw it sitting there & boarded. We left shortly after that! Our tour guide was fun and inserted some nostalgia along the way. I was born in Dallas but learned a few things about Highland Park that I didn't know! We stopped at 2 houses for photo ops (about 5 minutes) and then a bathroom/treat/drink stop at La Madeleine (love it) for 10 minutes. It was a lot of fun - one side of the van would say 'OOOOH' and one side would say 'AHHHH'. Wisely they asked us not to take photos, as the light from the phones reflected on the windows, which makes it difficult for the others to see out. Tickets for 2025 were $45 + tax. However, if you're looking for information on Dallas, seeing what makes it universal and want to partake in a tour this company is definitely a good choice for that. Our driver took us to The Blue Alley which had some great artwork and we got the tail end of a festival & I was able to buy some artwork from a local artist. This was our first time in Dallas and I just feel in love with the city. I called ahead and asked them if "kids" could go to. We had a 13 & 15 year old and they said Yes. Our tour guide Charlie did an excellent job covering the unique history of Fort Worth as we walked the main blocks of Sundance Square. He was a great story teller and very engaging. We felt sad to see what an impact COVID has had on the city - there are very few people out (on a Monday morning, anyway... it was hopping last Sat night!) plaza is no longer a place for gathering. The fountains are shut off, many restaurants have closed, and multiple museums have not reopened (not even the visitor center!). I wouldn't have been surprised to see a tumbleweed rolling down main street. From the tour we learned of many ups and downs Fort Worth has experienced over the years, and we hope this situation is no different. I'm ready to see Fort Worth's revival! In the meantime, whether you're a tourist or resident, check out these walking tours and fall in love with Fort Worth!

The Perfect Way to See Dallas from 1,500 Feet Low & Slow…read more My Friends and I wanted to do something different, so we thought getting in a Cessna and seeing Dallas at night would be cool. AND IT WAS! The three of us travel a lot for our jobs and fly in and out of DFW so this would be a bit different perspective. We arrived at Addison Airport and were greeted by our pilot Alex. Alex did a great job showing us the preflight and all that goes into getting a Cessna ready. Alex did a great job showing us around the aircraft during the pre-flight and explaining why an airplane is not like a car and you cannot just turn the key. I sat in the back, because I fly Cessna's I wanted to let my friend who had never been in a small plane sit at the controls. I am going to go off on a tangent here; the rich got it made with the whole flying private! Okay back to my review! We were buckled in and started taxing around 8pm. So it was going to be a night flight for sure. Right after take-off, we were flying over Dallas Love Airport. It was cool to see a Southwest 737 landing right under you. We flew over to Jerry World and Rangers Park; it was a perfect day to fly! Visibility was great. As we were flying over to Arlington we could see all the aircraft flying into and out of DFW. We then turned towards downtown Dallas. To see the skyline up close and all light up is amazing! My photos do not do the actual experience justice. As we worked our way back to Addison we flew over The Star in Frisco and Plano. So think about this real quick the next time you are stuck in DFW traffic; we flew from Addison to Arlington and back with time to do some circles around Frisco in under an hour. Try that that in your car! After we touched down we thanked our pilot for a great tour. We went home and reviewed our photos from a great time! So here is why I would recommend Starlight Tours. 1. If you have never flown in a small Cessna before this would be a great reason for you to. 2. Perfect way to show DFW to family and get some cool points. 3. If it is just amazing to see DFW from the air. 4. Try to do your flight on a clear day during sunset. I'm sure that would be amazing! Our night flight was cool, but sunset would be awesome! So there you go! Because I am a pilot, I will end by saying if you have a kid that is interested in flying. This would be a perfect way to show them what flying is all about.
