I needed my eyebrows waxed. I asked possibly my my upper lip too. The lady seriously starts slapping wax on and ripping it off. She barely gave me any time to speak. She says I'm going to get this too and slaps my cheeks with wax and rips it off. When I say my face was killing me I'm not over exaggerating. I was numb. I honestly was in shell shock...wasn't sure what just happened. She says to go up front where she proceeds to charge me $30 for all that! All I asked for was eyebrows and possibly my upper lip. My face has broken out and is still sore 3 days later. Never never never again!!! I should have known better when I looked at her and she had drawn in eyebrows. read more

I was a walk in today. I normally go to another salon but today I just simply decided I wanted to give my nails a break from products so I went for a simple nail removal and manicure. The nail tech was pushy and this was the worse manicure I've ever had. I explained my reasoning behind wanting to keep it simple yet she kept trying to insist on gel polish which I was pretty much taking off. They overcharged and the tech was just pretty rude towards the end which seemed to be because I didn't want to spend more money. Customer Service needs to be better. I'm not one to write reviews, or to get my nails done often, but I am new to the area and read decent reviews about this place and it was recommended by a friend. I don't know if it was an off day, but the woman who did my nails seemed completely distracted and inconvenienced by me being there. She sped through the manicure, wasn't particularly interested in hearing what I wanted regarding shape and length, and completely destroyed my cuticles. I understand that there's poking and prodding and buffering, but this picture is from a week out and I still have deep scabs on almost every single nail (this is only one hand, but my other looks the exact same). She didn't apologize, didn't mention anything about doing this to me. I should have stopped and left during the manicure and not paid. I've been coming to Dallas Nails for over 12 years. Alice has been my tech the entire time. And for good reason. She is always polite, fun to talk to, TALENTED and...she treats you like a friend and not just another customer. I've noticed she greets just about every person who calls the salon or walks through the door by name, which goes to show the level of relationships she has built with her clients. Her husband Andy is just as amazing as she is. For anyone giving negative reviews due to being a walk in and not being serviced immediately...please learn what the definition of "appointment" is and understand that appointments come first before a walk in. With that being said..YES..they are always busy. Honestly, I would rather come to a salon that's always busy versus one that is empty. If it's empty you have to wonder WHY nobody is there. Do not go here if you plan on getting what you want. When we first walked in there was a sign on the door that said "we are currently under staffed please set an appointment. Or. E okay with a long wait time" we walked in at 11:25am. Then I show the employees what my mother wanted they said they can do it. Then I showed them what I wanted. The lady ended up persuading my mom into a different more simple design. As for me I would've been less disappointed if the nail tec told me he didn't know how to what I asked for. I could tell right away what her was doing was not what i asked for. He caused my nail to bleed and continued like nothing happeded. I askednif i could glue that down. I told him many times thats not what I want. He kept replying hold on I will fix it. After the "Fix it" he would do it again. Then when I settled with something i can handle he changed that. In the picture below you will see what I originally asked for VS what i got. To top it all off you have 2 employees sitting at the nail counter right in frount of you eating and watching movies on their tablets. So unprofessional. I will not be returning. read more

My SNS nails last over 3 weeks and my gel polish sometimes longer. They do get busy ( like any other good nail place), so make an appointment if you aren't willing to wait. read more

My first visit and I must say besides the difficult communication between the woman at the front desk assigning me to my seat my visit here was great. I met my kind and forever nail technician. Her name was Bee and she did an amazing job with my manicure. When she wasn't stuck helping other technicians barrow her polishes and helping them find or open other bottles she was extremely attentive to my nail care. Y'all I'm pissed. I just left work early to get our nails done. I finally found someone I like. She told me her name was tina. So I walk in and ask for tina for my nails and it's a different girl. And the girl I wanted wasn't available. So if I would have made an appt with "tina" and showed up to find out it wasn't her, I would have been more pissed. But they all thought it was funny. Plus her shirt said "f@ck" on it and my 7 yo is with me. So I left. Not to ever return I was ganna get two gel manicures, two pedicures and designs and my eyebrows waxed. Short version: Don't go here if you like your nails. If they are busy, don't go here. If you want your nails to be a uniform length & similarly shaped, don't go here. If you have an emergency and need your nails done immediately and this is the only place available - do your nails at home. They do, in fact, do a pretty good job on eyebrows though. So if that's what you need - this place is okay. Longer Version: I had been to this place before when my nails were not in great shape I and wasn't super happy with my results. I got a gel manicure then and the nail shapes weren't exactly matching and the polish felt rushed. Overall the nails were fine, not great & not terrible. The next time I went was after I spent a few months really working on my nails, growing them out, maintaining my own cuticles and getting regular manicures at another shop (one more convenient to my work). Well it was a Friday and I got off early so I stopped on my way home to get my nails done, they were very busy so I made an appointment for later. When I came back they were just as busy but took me back within a couple minutes... they probably needed to start turning people away I mean the place was PACKED. Anyway, I ask the woman for an SNS dip manicure, I choose my color and we get started. My nails had grown out a lot and they were in amazing shape - but I needed a cut down. She started cutting them and assured me she would shape and file them later. Honestly - I knew it was gonna be a disaster quickly. She cut them down all different lengths. The first nail was perfect but they seemed to get progressively shorter. She "filed" them but it was really just smoothing the ends - there was no shaping involved. In fact, she did not even ask what shape I wanted. All of my nails were a different length, they did not match and the tips weren't level across. The dipping was rushed but the end result didn't affect the color at all. So I mean - other than having to re-do a couple of nails where the powder didn't set properly the color portion was great. She applied a top coat of clear polish and let me air dry with a small fan. Usually when I get an SNS manicure other shops apply a gel top coat and set you under a UV lamp so the color stays bright and the nail surface smooth. When I was sitting in front of the fan and she had walked off - I was surprised it was over. The edges of the powder were not smoothed down to sit evenly against my nail beds so I'm sure when they start to grow out they will break off. I went directly across the street to Walgreens and bought a nail buffer and file and had to re-shape my nails at home. They still look like a little bit of a mess - overall I would not recommend this place. I did not express how unhappy I was at the time, I just paid and left. I didn't (and still don't) think they could have fixed it given how busy they were and I really didn't want to ruin the length I had left. read more

This is the most Horrible and Humiliating experience I have ever had in my life! My nails are hidious and for me to be at the burst of tears because of how upset I am is unacceptable. If you are a first time comer, you better have an appointment. Otherwise they will lie to you, they will toss you around the salon to unprofessional personnel. They will hurt your fingers with the drill, then they will put alcohol on them, the shape of your nails will be horrible, and then they will act like they did not do nothing wrong. What ever you do don't go here! I got my nails done on 3/15/2017 with 2 days my pinky broke. And I was like what?! I even said I wasn't going to worry about it but the my middle finger broke the next day when I was wiping in the restroom (yep wiping my private area) broke!! No reason with in 9 days my nails should break due to regular things a person does like starching their head yep 1 broke today from me starching my head and I have short hair!!! Then today I go back in to attempt to get them fix they told me come back they don't have time for me right now so I came back and let's be clear I only came back because I had other errands to run and they wanted me to pay for a repair does this look like something a repair should be nope the nail is clearly too thin which is the reason they are braking so easily...plus they called me asshole and they are very racist towards black women!!! Took over 2 hours for a basic manicure - without the tech taking any breaks, just so slow. The nails began to chip later that day without any unusual activity. Most times the polish lasts 2-3 weeks at other places. Infuriating to sit for so long just to have nails chip later that day. Hasn't even been a week and will have to have them redone. I made an appointment at 6pm to get a manicure and a pedicure and my mother to get a pedicure because she has bad feet and this was a early mothers day gift. we arrived at 5:40 which is a bit early but we didn't mind if we had to wait. when we first walked in it was quite busy I told the lady I had called earlier told her my name and she said for me to pick out a color and wait. we sat their and waited 20 minutes, which was okay just because they seemed really busy. we finally got seated in the chairs and had water on our feet, no one came to help us but we just enjoyed the massage chairs. well about 30 MINUTES later we were starting to get mad. our water was getting cold and the ladies doing the pedicures were still working on the same girls that have been their since we have arrived. one girl came to work on my feet finally but my mom was still sitting there. a lady just walked in the door sat down immediately and one girl went over their to start her pedicure completely skipping my mom. my mom finally was fed up with everything that happened and asked for a towel to dry her feet off so she could leave, the lady handed her one and then proceeded to laugh when my mom explained she had to use the bathroom and wasn't going to come back and stick her feet back into the cold water and wait for someone to finish and start on her pedicure. overall we made an appointment early in the day therefore out wait should not have been that long and the staff should not have been that rude. read more
