Acqua is a pretty great spot to get your hair did in Guelph. It is an Aveda concept salon as well,…read morewhich comes along with a set of ideals and products that give the place a neat feel. Haircuts come with complimentary hot towel, scalp massage, and beverage (coffee/delicious herbal tea/Hot apple cider + spiced rum if you're lucky). I'm a guy so my haircuts aren't as complicated as many of the people reading this might be getting, but i can say that even for a simple "guy" cut, the stylists I have had take great care and have great attention to detail nonetheless. I have never been disappointed. Melissa is my regular hairdresser, but I'm sure the rest of the stylists are of the same calibre. I pay upwards of $25 for my haircut + wash. If you're a student, make sure to mention it, as there's a discount for this.

My roommate just went to get her hair done here and from her experience and how she was treated I…read morewould advise anyone to stay away from this place. She made an appointment over the phone clearly stating her budget and when she arrived she was quoted $450 for brown balayage, toner, and a cut. That is ridiculous!!! When she said she was not able to pay that, they offered to balayage her hair WITHOUT A TONER, for $300. They then went on to explain that a toner would be $80 extra and a cut $75 extra!! I would have walked out right away. That is not right in any way and you can tell they only care about the money and not about their clients. These people were about to let her walk out of there with untoned, wet hair before they offered a "complimentary" blowout. If they can let a client walk out of their salon with out toning their hair and at least drying it, that puts their reputation on the line as well and they so obviously do not care. TONER SHOULD BE INCLUDED ANY TIME HAIR IS BLEACHED. DO NOT GO HERE.

Missed mutplie spot of hair, had to ask to do more after looking in the mirror. Also had to ask her to use toner, which still wasn't enough. 30 second hair washes don't do the best job either!! Have had comments over the last few days as to who did it, not very good comments!! Don't think I will return or recommend. Sorry to say but after getting the same thing for years, I know what I'm talking about even though I'm a man!! When i have to ask the stylist to things she should already know, it gets kind of difficult to even think about returning!!!! Could have done yellow hair myself. Also when I pointed out the missed spots, her fis was to put some of my original colour in to even it?????? Instead of using the highlight dye....don';t get that reasoning at all!! Dave
