Made a trip to Chadbourn to visit family and Stop at Dales Seafood in Whiteville to eat the food was great and the service was really great. It was definitely a 10 in our opinion. read more

They are not open on Mondays. We normally eat on our way to the beach. The food is good and service exceptional!

I travel through Whiteville a lot and had seen the 3.3 rating and was hesitant to stop, but I'm glad I did today. Everything was excellent food and service. Friendly staff could not have been nicer. I had the senior flounder and shrimp, excellent calabash style seafood, the coleslaw was good and I added a baked potato. I'd give it five stars and will stop again. read more

Fried lightly and the price was right, all very tasty. Our server was busy but she was pleasant and met all our needs. The building is older and could probably stand a little updating. Would definitely go again and again if we lived closer. read more

Dale's Seafood - Fish and clams - Seafood Near Me - Whiteville, North Carolina

Me and my family stopped at this restaurant on our way to the beach. The parking lot was extremely full so we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, the restaurant it looked a little old and out of date. Our food was mediocre at best. It arrived cold. The portion size was extremely small for the price. Our waitress once she served us never came back to check on us or to refill our glasses. We won't be stopping there again. read more

I was visiting family, we had a very large group, and they were able to accommodate us and were very friendly. While I was skeptical of the idea of seafood in Whiteville, it was ok. I got the fish and shrimp and decided to try the little deviled crab. The portions are big which is good, but my biggest complaint is that they do not clean the shrimp. What is the point of having a huge amount of shrimp if they all have the vein going down the back. I couldn't even look at it, let alone eat it, so the shrimp was just wasted, I tried the deviled crab and it wasn't that great so I didn't really eat it. The fish itself was good though and the hush puppies were delicious I would not come again unless I'm only getting fish and hush puppies but it is great for big groups. read more

Dale's Seafood - Fish, Deviled Crab, Shrimp - Seafood Near Me - Whiteville, North Carolina

I remember going to a place like this with my grandparents and back then they called it "The Lord's Waiting Room!" Literally everyone eating at this place at 55+ and the food is just nasty. The only redeeming aspect of the meal was our super friendly and welcoming server. The food as I stated was absolutely disgusting and definitely straight out of the freezer into the fryer. Do yourself a favor and avoid like the bubonic plague! read more

Made a special trip to Dale's to meet some of my family who were vacationing in Myrtle Beach. I had eaten at Dale's several occasions and bragged how good Dale's Seafood was so they agreed to meet us their. We arrived and were greeted and seated by Lilly who would be our server. She was very friendly and did a great job of waiting on us. Unfortunately, the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen so she made several trips back to our table to apologize for it taking so long. She kept our drinks filled and brought more hushpuppies for snacking. When the food did arrive we immediately had to return my wife's broiled scallop plate. I would have been embarrassed to bring that plate to the table. It was literally burned. Even the metal/stainless steel plate was black. My son ordered a flounder plate with French fries and no slaw but it came out with baked potato but he chose not to ask for the French fries. I ordered oyster stew as an appetizer but it came only just a minute or two ahead of my regular plate of regular seafood. Lilly came to me and apologized it was taking so long to get my appetizer out. My regular seafood plate was cold but I chose not to ask for it to be taken back. I rarely write reviews all of us drove over an hour to reach your restaurant after I had bragged about how great it was. Again, Lilly is to be commended for the service she gave us and she even tried to take the blame for the food coming out so slow but it was obvious to us that the issues were back in the kitchen. I will likely go back and chalk this up to just a bad night but I must say I was hugely disappointed. read more

Will not be going back to the Dale's Seafood in Whiteville NC, Lake Waccamaw. The past 3 times have not been great.. I Ordered 2 to go plates. 1st plate was flounder & shrimp plate, the flounder was overcooked way to crunchy, shrimp was more crunchy batter than shrimp. 2nd plate was shrimp & scallops. Shrimp was crunchy and more crunchy batter than shrimp and the scallops, all of 10 small were chewey and greasy. I will drive to Lake Waccamaw or Lori's from now on. read more

The best seafood and excellent service. Well worth the drive for us. Very friendly staff.

It's a local place. It's not gourmet by any means but it's decent food well cooked. The fish is fresh and although they fry just about everything the place smells clean. The waitress we had was efficient and pleasant. It's hard to review what is basically simple food but I would go again if I was in the area. read more

Food was cold. Service was slow. Looked like only 2 waitresses for the whole place on Friday night. Cold hard shrimp and cold hard hush puppies. Such a disappointment as we love Dales in Tabor City! read more

Food was unbearably bland. I mean the fish tasted like flour. A spice and flavor reboot could really turn this place into a strong 2 stars. The hush puppies were the best thing for me. I had the catfish with crab fyi. read more

I left a review on Google, which thankfully is going to be seen more than these low ones on Yelp . . . I'm glad I trusted Google. I would have hated to have missed the meal I enjoyed last night. Nothing on my plate was 'bland'! Good lord everything was perfect. I chose four, for the platter. Thick piece of fish, the deviled crab was obviously made fresh. Scallops were sweet and tender, and the shrimp were nicely done as well, not a vein in sight. Everything crisp, and nothing greasy. It was literally wonderful. I had enough on my plate to have a second full meal from - leftovers definitely worth taking. Even the fries. It was fantastic. read more

Great for lunch more of a selection at lunch than at dinner. The stew beef at lunch is the best around.

Great food and great service. If you like steamed oysters this is definitely the place to go. Please be patient they may be busy, but it's worth the wait. Family related atmosphere. When you think seafood, you think Dales! Dales in Whiteville is my all time go to for extraordinary seafood! If you want steamed oysters, go to Dales! If you want fish, shrimp, scollops, develed crab go to Dales! They not only have seafood, they have delicious sirloin tips, baked chicken, pork chops, ect.. They have terrific sides along with a salad bar. During the weekday they have a great lunch special a meat and two sides. Everyone in town is here; there are alot of regulars. Also, so many people travel from all over the state to eat here! We like go visit Calabash,to do some thrift store shopping, but rather than eat there( the seafood capitol),we always come back to eat at Dales!!! Alan Gerald along with his Mom Lois, have really been a valuable asset to the city of Whiteville,as well as all of Columbus County. It's conveniently located on Hwy 701. It's a great stop on the way to the beach! Dales has some banquet rooms to accommodate large wedding parties, civic groups, high school reunions, ect...It is a real treat to have a party here!!! They have some incredible cooks, and Wait staff! This is such a fun, friendly, and inviting place! I have traveled to many places for great seafood. Hands down,Dales is the best! Absolutely, the freshest and tastiest seafood, around! read more

I haven't been in years. Stopped by after a funeral. Ordered a choose 3 plate with flounder, scallops, and shrimp.... The hush puppies were hard and dry; the shrimp tasted like they were full of dirt; the scallops were chewy and did NOT taste like scallops; and it all left a HORRIBLE after taste! Will never go again! read more

The food was great! We had a party of 12 and our wait time was minimal. If you are craving seafood then Dale's is a good place to go. There's also steak and chicken tenders, and fried chicken in addition to their seafood selections. read more

Do not waste your time or money. This is not seafood. This is frozen garbage to which is passed off for food. The place smells of old grease and the floor was oily. The staff is sub-par at best and completely unprofessional. read more

Ok for being a "seafood" restaurant they have the worst fish I've ever had. Mushy flounder, microscopic shrimp and tasteless crab. Plus the service was nearly non existent. Don't waste your time you can do better getting a Filet O Fish at McDs. read more

We were back in town visiting family for the holidays and had to visit a restaurant we enjoyed most of our lives. My wife and I grew up in the area so you could call this comfort food for us. I recently visited Whiteville for business, decided on Dale's for my lunch and couldn't have been more pleased. The service was incredible it was like you were family even though I was from another state. The environment was clean and inviting and the food was phenomenal. I tried things I've never had and find myself sitting here craving them. I know when I come back to Whiteville I will for sure be stopping at Dale's again. read more

I hated my first and LAST experience there. Everything is fried im surprised their salad bar isn't fried. Unless you seek clogged arteries I'd travel somewhere else! 32.00 on two plates of fried French fries hush puppies and some soppin in grease fish. TERRIBLE!!!! read more

Staying one night at a nearby hotel ventured out to hopefully find something to eat other than fast food which is plentiful along this road. If you continue just a bit more you'll run into Dales. Simple atmosphere, local /family place. Friendly staff. Lots of seafood - oysters seemed popular as people were throwing the shells in plastic tubs on the floor near there table as they ate. They had choices from the land as well- burgers , steaks and a decent salad bar that was fresh. No alcohol though. Husband had a 12 oz ribeye with baked potato and salad , I opted for a simple grilled cheese and tomato also had a salad, the bill came to $23. Not a bad deal. Food was good , if ever in the area again would stop in. read more

This was an average experience. The fish was too dry, but the Oyster Roast was good and there were many. Not the best place to get something healthy. Their specialty is fried food. read more

Don't go to Dale's in Whiteville! Waited one hour to get small plate of seafood. Oyster roast was not steamed properly...had to send it back twice. Had to ask for hush puppies three times. Our server was very unprofessional and the manager wasn't much better. Did get a few dollars taken off but after the horrible service, the meal should have been free! Also, the seafood was very greasy! Don't waste your time or money on this restaurant! Very disappointed! read more

Always a warm place to eat and enjoy family time. Seafood is always fresh and the wait staff are very attentive! Definite must

For some reason my wife and family do not like Dales Seafood but I sure do. Boiled shrimp is really good.

There is no seasoning to their food or their sides. This branch caters to the older crowd, as you will see a lot of blue hairs. The server was barely attentive and the food extremely bland. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Lake Waccamaw location if you want to try Dale's. It is like night and day. The Lake Waccamaw location is 10x's better!! read more

Very good food. Seafood, steak, whatever you order is good. Friendly staff. Great oyster roast in winter too.

The food had very little flavor. I had the charbroiled shrimp with lemon pepper sauce, but I still had to sprinkle salt on it. The shrimp were tiny. My boyfriend ordered the boiled shrimp and there was no flavor at all. The stuffed crab was different, couldn't pinpoint it, but it was not that good either. read more
