Found both RSD titles I was after!

Found Dale's on the Record Store Day website. Only 2 minutes from my house. Took a chance and went over there, and BOOM they had both the RSD titles I wanted. Can't believe I waited this long to stop in and browse. Had a nice chat about jazz with Sean (or Shawn), who was very helpful, and I made a friend. Cool shop. Cool people. I'll be back for sure.

Good vibe had some pretty amazing records on the wall. Dale seems like a good dude and I would love to hear some stories of the artist that cut their teeth near Joshua Tree NP area.

My 14 year old son took me to Dale's Records and Skate Shop yesterday for the first time. My son wanted to buy some records and insisted that we go there. As soon as I walked in, I felt like taking a step back in time. We were greeted by Dale and a local artist who was there. The place is well organized. It will instantly bring you memories from the 80s and 90s. Of course, that will depend on what you listened to back in the day. Dale helped my kid find exactly what he was looking for. In fact, Dale suggested another record that my son happened to have in mind, but he thought Dale wouldn't have it. Well, Dale did have it. I love this place. Dale is an outstanding and friendly individual. We are all about supporting local small business owners.

The best of both worlds: skateboards and vinyl records. Dale really makes you feel welcome when entering his shop. I won't shop anywhere else. Anthony A

As far as I can tell this is the only place in Palm Springs where you can get isobutane (the kind…read moreof fuel that a Jetboil or an MSR stove takes) camp stove fuel. Most people in this town had no clue what I was talking about. I would just bring my own but...you can fly with a fuel canister. My usual go-to for camp fuel when traveling is Ace hardware. Usually my first stop in Hawaii is the nearest Ace for camp stove fuel. The one here, not only did not have it...they didn't know what it even was? Anyway, the guy working here was really sympathetic to my cause. He said it's hard to get because the locals only hike in the summer and are too scared of the cold to hike in the winter so...people stop carrying backpacking fuel. Hilarious, if true! (it was in the 30's at my camp on San Jacinto, great sleeping and stove cooking weather!)

Not only did they not understand how to deal with the situation but also asked my wife and I to leave when we attempted to explain in the simplest way possible. I'm honestly shocked at the lack of training and zero customer service by these two employees. My solution? Go to Dicks Sports where they may be a touch more expensive but definitely know customers service. In conclusion STAY AWAY FROM BIG 5 in Palm Springs - unmatched unprofessionalism and definitely a HARD PASS in this economy where our money matters and where we choose to spend it.

*Hot in the (Shoe) City*…read more I've driven or walked by Shoe City countless times because it's within a large shopping complex I frequent, on Monterey & Dinah Shore. The name "Shoe City" pretty much tells you what you need to know...and what's in-store inside this store. But what I did not know is that Shoe City has a very large inventory of top name brands at reasonable prices. They also have a wide selection of high-performance athletic shoes I did not expect to see here. They also have a nice display of hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and socks. Even noticed some Dodgers and Red Sox hats for future reference. On this particular day, I strolled inside Shoe City to check out the place...and cool down a bit because it was over 100 degrees outside, late in the month of May. The layout is similar to what I've seen at other discount shoe stores -- aisles & aisles of shoes neatly organized, with stacks of shoe boxes piled 4 feet high. Of course, I went straight to the Nike area to peek around. Within seconds I was approached and asked if I "need help with anything?" which I appreciated, and kindly said "no thank you...but thanks for asking." Just when I thought it was over: I noticed something I never expected here -- Nike Offcourt Adjust Slides, cushioned with memory foam. And a color I've never seen. I have 4 pairs in other colors, and recently purchased a new pair at Dick's Sporting Goods a month ago...and a month before that too. Tho I don't need another pair, these unique shade of brown Nike Slides was calling my name, to be added to my collection. As often happens, they had every size but mine, so I called over the helpful gal who I spoke with before, and asked if there's more in stock. I mentioned how I've never seen this color and she told me they "just got them in the other day." Then when I thought my luck ran out, she found the last pair in my size, that was misplaced below the displayed shoe next to it. I was so happy I said "ya see, I needed your help after all" and we had a good laugh together. Tho the "price comparison" sticker on the box is inflated, the sale price is the same $40 I've paid for these Nike Slides at Dicks and elsewhere. I mentioned it to another girl who rang me up at the register, who I assume is the manager, and she agreed with me. Then we struck up a nice convo about the cool color of these slides. Then after hearing stories about my collection and how damn comfy they are, she told me she'll have to get her first pair to try out. Then she asked if I want to "SPIN THE WHEEL for a chance to WIN a PRIZE?" Who am I to say "NO"...so I went to the other side of the counter to spin the BIG WHEEL ~~ not too hard not too soft...but just a tad bit short of winning the BIG PRIZE. Oh well, it was still fun. I was very impressed with Shoe City's merchandise and their helpful & friendly customer service. And their AC room temp was perfecto. If you haven't been to a Shoe City before, I recommend checking it out...and you might be pleasantly surprised to find a pair of shoes you love too. {{{Big~High~Five}}} Walk-off Homerun
