Prob the best pasta I've had in Italy for a fraction of the cost. And that pretty much sums up how I feel. Chicken was so Good w/ the pesto. Cutest takeout container so we were able to waste less time sitting eating and paying. My friend got squid ink & it was subtle and not overbearing & delicious read more
So was walking around Venice and getting lost in its charm and decided I was trying to find a spot where we could quickly grab some food and continue exploring the city. After a quick search, I stumbled upon this place being highly rated on both yelp and trip advisor for selling "to go" pasta. It seems there are many options that offer this service in Venice/Florence but I had not yet had the opportunity to partake so finally decided to pull the trigger. Walked through the maze of Venice and found this place finally because of the long lines outside the door. The joint is a quaint hole in the wall spot where they are churning out fresh pastas (machine at work) and with folks in the back cooking up all the variations of pasta. This joint has a few chain locations around the world in Toronto and Barcelona. The spot itself is very tiny so literally just enough room to walk in, order, pick up your food, and then walk out to try and find a spot to chow down on the freshly made pasta. The line itself is definitely long but it moves at a decent clip so don't worry too much. They offer multiple options inclusive of some soft beverages and beers. These options include, Bolognese, pesto, carbonara, chicken alfredo, nero di sepia (squid ink), formaggi, etc. After a bit of perusal, decided to order two options which was the squid ink and the Bolognese. The cashiers were super friendly and the food came out quickly in a cardboard box (similar to a Chinese box takeout box). As part of ordering also, you are able to choose your spiciness level and they do a good job of meeting the spiciness expectations. The portions here are absolutely huge and they do not skimp on the sauce that is topping the pasta. The pasta definitely tastes fresh and the sauces are good but given all the rave reviews and lines, I was slightly surprised by its fame. Again the food here is solid but maybe just a case of being overhyped and therefore increasing expectations to an unreasonable level. In addition, the fact there is no place to eat so you have to either take it to your hotel or eat on the sidewalk made it challenging. Venice has seen a sharp increase in tourism so there were a few older gents who started yelling at all of us sitting on the ground and eating saying "to respect venice and have no picnic". Again definitely great food and healthy portions for reasonable prices so check it out for yourself but don't overhype yourself! read more
I don't understand how this place has such high ratings on yelp and trip advisor. Honestly it was just an ok pasta joint. I guess it is different in that it's pasta to go but the taste is seriously just average at best. The flavor was bland and the sausage that they used was so crappy... Like Oscar mayers sausage... I would have much preferred to go somewhere else and eat. Maybe it's popular bc it's slightly cheaper... It's not even that cheap though... I'm sure despite my 3 star review people will still go and try it... I mean once you get near the restaurant you see tons of people walking around w this white take out box and chowing away with their forks. It makes you wanna get in on the fun. Plus if you stand anywhere near there eating almost everyone that passes by will ask you where you got it... I guess it's the experience but I wouldn't eat here again... read more
The best pasta I've ever had! And this is coming from someone who doesn't usually like pasta either because it's too heavy (alfredo) or oily (pesto). The place is take out only and located in one of the many small alleys and tho there was a long line, we only waited for about 15 minutes. They're fast in getting the fresh pasta out. You have the option to customize your pasta type, red/white sauce, and toppings or choose a popular item from an existing menu. I got the fusilli with red meat sauce. It was really tasty - the pasta had the perfect texture and the sauce was spot on. They're very generous with the sauce and toppings. read more

This place is seriously the best. You don't even need to read any further for recommendations, just show up when they open (they happened to be open before 2:30 one day even though the posted hours say 3pm) and pick a sauce & a pasta. It will be amazing no matter what. After the crazy expensive meals we had elsewhere, the bf & I ended up eating here three times in one day! It's that good! We were given fresh pasta to try, and the food comes out within a few minutes. The pesto was by far my favorite, and don't forget the add-ons! read more

Supposedly one of the best pasta places in Venice. I ordered the regular tomato + basil + mushrooms that were suggested. It want particularly impressive. The mushrooms were also oddly cold. best pasta ever? No. It's cheap and not bad. I wouldn't get it again but perhaps some of the other sauces are more exciting. Seems like a lot of hype. read more

Sweet holy mother... I could not have dreamed up more perfect pasta! A small hole-in-the-wall spot that serves perfectly al dente pasta in a to-go container. You basically pick your sauce and then pick your pasta. Or you can do what I did, pick the sauce and had Alfredo surprise you with the pasta! I had the #2 panna e prosciutto: a white sauce with rotini. My sister had Alfredo surprise her with the entire order and she ended up with the "Viagra" sauce, spicy with a funny curly noodle, I forget the name of it (sorry!) they were both delicious! There are both meat and vegetarian options! Alfredo makes each customer promise to eat the pasta right away to get the best taste... Needless to say, my sister and I, along with others who ordered with us, promptly sat down on the steps of the nearest bridge (Calle Del'Angello Cannaregio) and set about feasting... Despite being full to bursting due to the generous servings... We want another order... Instead we compromised and agreed to come back again tomorrow! read more
Pasta at €6 a little carton. Kinda like Chinese food pork fried rice only its Pasta and much more sophisticated. Not sure why they won't let you take a picture of the place. No sign out in front and it feels like you've been transported back to the Hipster part of Brooklyn. As for the pasta, we chose the cheese with garlic in fusilli. Heavy in garlic, which is what I like. For the value and the taste, I thought it was pretty damn good. Great mid day snack. read more
Take out fresh pasta with a sauce of your choosing. Quick, delicious, and well priced (4-7 Euro). Seriously guys, you've got to try Alfredo's pasta and and see for yourself. You will also have some great pasta elsewhere, but I'm sure it'll come at a cost. As you will be advised, the pasta is fresh, and still very hot (temperature wise). So eat it right away, unless you want to risk the taste/texture changing. On my visit to Alfredo's I saw a few posted signs mentioning there are fines for tourists sitting on the steps of bridges, So find another spot! I had 3 out of my 4 meals in Venice from Alfredo's. It couldn't be helped, I'm a pasta addict. I tried the Arabatia, Rucola e Grana, and the Pesto pasta. I liked them all, but if I could only choose one I'd go with the Arabatia and have them add meat and extra peppers to spice it up! read more
ALFREDO'S!! Now pictures might not look glamorous, but oh man you are in for a treat. Get the Alfredo pasta. That sauce was mouth-salivating delicious. Best alfredo sauce I've ever had. A little disappointed that they did not have seafood, but they said they only have what is fresh, so I respect that. Got sausages and it was great. EAT IT FRESH THO! Fresh was the best. Sadly, they recommended for me to get the spicy marinara, however it was not as satisfying as the alfredo. I mean, you can't go wrong from choosing the dish the restaurant is named after. That alfredo pasta would make me come back. I would want to try pesto next, as my friend tried it and said it was the best pasta she has ever had. SERVICE: Excellent! The men were friendly, had smiles on their face, and believe it or not, speak EXCELLENT Korean!! It was amazing! My Korean boyfriend said he was quite impressed, as they speak better Korean than many Koreans he knows. Thanks Alfredo's for the best and most affordable pasta in Italy. We honestly had a little trouble finding this place, but once we did, we were so happy. This was our first pasta in Italy, and even though it was a little to-go/fast food shop, it was still really delicious! I first got the carbonara while the hubs got pesto. Both were super delicious. Half-way through eating our pasta, hubs said he wanted more, so we went ahead and ordered the two types of lasagna. I personally liked the regular lasagna more, but hubs actually did like the creamy one with chicken and mushroom. The guys who worked there were super nice, and they played great music lol read more

Everyone sells gelato in Venice. Even Alfredo's. We did not try the gelato but if their gelato is as good as their pasta, I am sure we would love it. I admit it looks a tad shady and I probably would have never found this place without reading some reviews and also probably never would have tried it as well. For about 6 euros you receive FRESH, PIPING HOT, and most importantly DELICIOUS pasta. We loved this place so much we came two days in a row. Fresh ingredients, hand cranked pasta, and served up super fast even with a long queue. read more

After being recommended again and again to try Alfredo's, my husband and I decided to stop by for lunch on our first day in Venice. Unfortunately, since it was our first day, we weren't too familiar with the streets and our estimated 10 mins stroll turned into an hr hike. We found Alfredo's right before its opening and there was a small crowd forming. One perk of being a small Asian girl was that I somehow maneuvered to the front of the line and submitted their first order of the day (I also studied the menu online before going - so I had top 3 choices in case one or two wasn't available that day - no time for indecisive tourists). We were handed our order at the side window - our two pastas - each came in a pint sized Chinese take out container - arrabiatia and Viagra were honestly the best pastas I'd had in Italy! The pastas were al dente which I loved and paired so well with their perspective sauces. My Viagra was creamy but not heavy - it came with a generous amount of diced tomato which I found refreshing. The arrabiatia had the perfect amount of heat thanks to tiny chili flakes. Their marinara sauce carried the proper balance of tartness and sweetness. Both pastas made my belly so happy! For 6-7 euro, there's simply no pasta place with better value, taste, freshness anywhere in Venice! Don't waste money on cover charges and mediocre italian food, instead order a pasta or two to go and enjoy a scenic walk through Venice streets! read more

I stopped in to see what all the rave is about. Really what it comes down to is that there really isnt anything special but the fact that you can get pasta to go for 5 euros compared to 12-15 euros in the restaurant is why this place is worth it. They have vegetarian options and i told them i was lactose intolerant so they gave me the vegan option which is fettucini noodles with tomato sauce. It was good and i ate while wondering through the city. I would recommend mainly because it is quick and cheap! read more

In a very expensive city, this place is a great location to get a quick meal and keep moving at an affordable price. Very popular. Line moves quickly. Staff are super friendly. Pasta is pretty darn good. read more

Believe the hype! If it wasn't for Google maps I never would have found this place but you'll know when you've found it as you'll see all the people standing outside eating it straight out the carton. The shop is pretty small but there's enough space for maybe 4ppl to stand and eat inside. We ordered the Bolognese spaghetti, Pesto spaghetti and a tiramisu. I could eat the Bolognese and tiramisu everyday, the Pesto was a little too potent for my tastes, it has a very unique and strong flavor that got sickly after a few bites. Prices are very affordable too. Definitely a MUST NOT MISS whilst in Venice. Venice is a maze full of exciting discoveries. (This is a late review from November 2017 btw) read more

I'm going to have to go with the masses here and agree: this place was quite awesome. I ordered and had my to-go box of pesto fusilli within minutes (plus chicken and mozzarella). Perfectly warm, perfectly cheesed, perfectly eaten. The evidence is gone...so sorry I didn't take a pic...Incan only offer that which isbattacjed Go here! Not far from San Marco at all and worth it if you're looking for something on the go. read more
I was excited to try this place after seeing the reviews. I ordered the Alfredo and I think my husband had a carbonara pasta. I didn't like my pasta at all and didn't finish it. It's hard to describe but it almost seemed like there was raw flour in the sauce and just tasted really bland. The tiramisu was pretty small but very good. It's also very hard to find a spot out there to eat but the staff was nice and trying to give advice on where to eat. read more
I can only rate on the vegan option, but wow it was delish! I had vegan sauce with rigatoni, added green olives and mushrooms. Somehow I lucked up and there was no one in the place when I arrived just past noon on a Thursday. I ordered and waited maybe 2 minutes for my order to be ready. Hot and super fresh, I couldn't believe how delicious this simple pasta was. But the noodles and the sauce were amazing... that veggie combo is fire too! I also learned they have a location in Barcelona so now I know a quick easy vegan meal there now too! read more
Dal Moro's - where fresh pasta meets Chinese takeout. Super quick and super cheap. They serve the food piping hot, reminding each customer to eat right away or it won't taste as good. You get to mix and match any pasta and sauce your heart desires. I went with gnocchi and frutti di mare. So bomb! read more
I LOVE THIS PLACE. I don't know how I didn't review it until now - I went here literally every single day while I was in Venice in 2015 (obviously it's time to go back). The first time I visited, I was blown away at how good the pasta was, and it was only 5 euros for a little takeaway container! I don't think life can get any better than eating hot, fresh pasta in a little Venice canal. Even as a vegan, I had so many options for pastas and sauces that I was barely able to try all of them after five days of constant pasta eating. The guys who work here were super great too, they all remembered me even on the second time I went in. This place is so good, I might defriend is someone if they went to Venice and didn't eat here. I kind of want to go back to Venice just to eat this pasta! Keep in mind - this place is literally only to go. They don't have tables and you can't eat inside. It's super tiny and very italian ;) read more
My fam and I came here on our last day in Venice. We debated whether or not to wait in the long line, walked around for like 15 minutes, and then came back here because we felt any place with a line this long had to be good. My roommate also recommended this place from his Italy vacation, so we had even more of an incentive to try it. We got to the front of the line pretty quickly, and each ordered something unique. I got the ai formaggi white sauce with gnocchi, mushrooms, and olives. The first few bites were amazing -- the cheese blend was amazing, the toppings were tasty, and the gnocchi was wonderfully warm. But the sauce quickly overwhelmed me. Every bite was a struggle to finish off the pasta, as the rich creamy cheese put me closer and closer to a food coma. My parents and sister felt the same way with the other types -- pomodoro, pesto, and boscaiola. Dal Moro's is overhyped. There's no better way to put it. The food is good for the price, but there's far more sauce than there is pasta. The further you get into your take-out container, the more you realize that the food isn't very authentic. I compare it to Chipotle -- it's good, but it's not authentic. We also got the tiramisu from here -- it was good considering it was the first tiramisu we had here in Italy, but we later realized (from eating tiramisu in Florence and Rome) that this tiramisu was average at best. I think you should try this place out, especially if you'll be in Venice for a while and want to go for a cheaper but still filling pasta. If you're in Venice for a few days, Dal Moro's is a tough sell because there are better places out there. This food is worth the price, but assuming you're here on vacation and want to eat authentic food, go elsewhere. read more

Guys and gals, If you want to eat a great taste of Venice. Try Dal Moro's for lunch or even dinner. My fiancé and I ate three times there in two days. We would of made it more but we didn't find the place sooner. Moro's beat hands down all the pasta dishes we ate before in Venice and a fantastic price too. Try it and you will not regret it! read more
This place was delish! Definitely hidden and I recommend using google maps over apple maps. It's hidden down an alley and not easy to find. The owner was very charming. We went right when they opened so there wasn't a line. Prices were good, definitely could have shared the pasta the portions were pretty big. Made fresh and well worth it! read more

We were very excited to try this pasta because so many people suggested it! Upon arriving, there was a line out the door and we knew it was going to be amazing! We ordered, waited a few minutes, and then were given the take out containers full of fresh and hot pasta. Unfortunately....I was extremely let down. The pasta did not taste anything special and the cream sauce was nothing to write home about. It was definitely a 2 out of 5 stars for me. We wouldn't go back and honestly it isn't much to remember. Fun experience but a no for me. read more

Looking for a quick bite that's delicious, made from scratch and affordable? Then Dal Moro's should be on your must-go-to places for lunch. Venice is an easy city to get lost in. So if your hungry why not stop in to Dal Moro's for some fresh pasta in a Chinese to-go style box and explore the city. That is exactly what we did and it made our experience unforgettable. WARNING: There may be a big line but it moves quickly! Every combination is $7 euros or less. You honestly can't go wrong with any of their options. We ordered the Bolognese with Parmigano and the Pesto. All pasta is cooked to order and piping hot which was nice because we were there in February and it was a little cold outside. Our next trip to Venice will once again include Dal Moro's! read more

This place is amazing!!! Honestly it's super trendy haha but by far great pasta and super fresh. If I'm correct the pasta is fresh and the sauces are to die for!! So good we came back right before closing too!! I tried the Pesto with chicken sausage and extra spicy chili and it was so delicious and my bf tried the Carbonara, he did say it was extremely saucy. It is very saucy which is great no one likes dry pasta haha. Must eat right away! Also make sure to mix your pasta because all of the add ons and spices tend to be on top. So once it's gone it's gone haha and all you got is delicious sauce at the bottom. So mix mix mix!!!! :))) We showed up at around 12pm right at opening hours as we had read that it gets busy. As arriving there was another couple there and while waiting for the business to open a few more people arrived. By the time we started to order there was a line! The place inside is super small so it definitely is a to go place lol as stated. They are super fast to serve and the customer service is great. Although you only interact for a few seconds the guy at the register was friendly. read more

I stumbled upon Dal Moro's while doing foodie research, and you may accidentally stumble upon this place too if you're wandering the alleys of Venice because it wasn't easy to find even with Google Maps. I wish I could give helpful tips on how to get here, but I really couldn't tell you other than you'll know if you're going down a nondescript alley and you start seeing people with to-go cartons sitting on the steps. Dal Moro's offers 8 different sauces, 2 pasta options (spaghetti or fusilli), and 8 toppings for an additional .50-1 euro per topping. The most expensive sauce is only 7 euro, so you can understand why this place is so popular. Food (3 stars): -Calamari cuttlefish ink fusilli (5 euro): I love squid ink pasta, so this is a steal for 5 euro! The sauce is a serious black, but don't be turned off by the color because the taste is actually pretty tame. It's not fishy, but the squid ink imparts a nice umami saltiness to the sauce. They also give you a lot of sauce; in fact, some people might find it to be too much sauce. Some bread would be nice to go with the extra sauce. I wish you could get some real calamari to add to the pasta instead of just having pasta in sauce. I wouldn't say it's the best squid ink pasta I've had (just 3 stars for food), but it is a great deal if you're in Venice and want a quick, cheap bite. Service: -There is a line out the door because the place is really small. You should basically know what you want before you get inside. It's standing room only so you're better off taking your pasta elsewhere. It would be nice to be able to sit and eat. They do take credit card! read more

Service was quick and efficient. The hubby and I kept seeing this place pop up on Yelp and figured we would try it out. Food is good for take out. The pasta is freshly made and you can tell. I ordered the Bolognese and the sauce was somewhat bland. My husband ordered the chicken Alfredo and said it was good. Price is great and it was nice to have an alternative option of take out aside from pizza or a sandwich. We would probably go back. read more
