I've been living at City View for five months and I can honestly say this is the worst place I've…read moreever rented. When I moved in my apartment was filthy! There was black mold in the dishwasher, the floors and countertops were dusty, and the shower had stains.On top of this, the appliances didn't even work. The ice maker and water filter was not working and the electrical socket in the bathroom caused a short in my curling iron and ruined it. After informing the front desk about the conditions of my place I was met with an attitude! It was a complete and sudden change from the friendly attitude I was met with before signing my lease. Since I've lived here the leasing office staff and property manager have been very rude and unhelpful! Both act like your bothering them when you have concerns or maintenance requests. As for the amenities, they are a joke. When I moved in, I was told there was a rooftop deck that was being built. I've lived at City View for almost 6 months, and as of this month the rooftop deck shows no signs of ever being completed. Amenities are old and used, the pool table is worn and the speakers in the theater room don't work. Also, there are mouses missing from the computer lab downstairs .There's been several instances in which management have commented in the resident portal that certain repairs to the building are too expensive to complete. A few months ago I asked the property manager why my unit did not have window blinds and she informed me that it was no longer in the budget to finish adding blinds to the remaining units! The rent here is pretty high so it's frustrating to constantly be reminded that updates or repairs are not in the budget. Also worth mentioning: The walls are so thin I can hear my upstairs neighbor take a shower and listen to music. There is a half way house across the street and a sobriety center around the corner. Theres also a growing homeless population with tents under the freeway nearby and across the street from the garage. Considering all of this I don't understand why there is no security guard! Also, staff is rarely at the front desk so packages are left behind the desk unattended! The elevator is constantly out of order and dog waste bags are not offered. There's only a gross pooper scooper left on the ground for residents to use. I would say the worst part of living here is that my maintenance requests have constantly been ignored for the past five months. My fridge and ice machine was broken for the first four months I lived here and I constantly had to put in maintenance requests for them to be fixed. To date I have literally placed two dozen maintenance requests! The washer and dryer, and most of the appliances are old and definitely need to be replaced. The building looks beautiful from the outside but once you move in it's a nightmare! I totally regret signing my lease and cannot wait for it to end. Staff and management at City View do not care about maintaining its property or making residents happy. There are nicer, less expensive apartments in Houston that offer far better amenities and actual customer service.

I've had the misfortune of struggling through two torturous transactions with Riverway. Both closed way past the contract date, in large part due to lack of communication from title. They make it pretty clear that they do not value their customers, alternating between an attitude of complete disinterest or annoyance when either the seller's or buyer's agents or even the lenders call with questions (questions such as: did you receive the contract? Earnest money? Survey? Are we on track to close?) With so many good title companies out there, it's amazing that Riverway stays in business. When choosing a title company, RUN from this one.
