The store offers everything online with a couple of extras like Rotisserie chicken not offered online. I wanted to try the California sushi 10 piece and found Beecher's cheese and picked that up as well. The only hitch was at checkout: I scanned my Amazon Prime Member bar code which should have automatically used my card on file from online which it didn't. No worries.. I genuinely cannot put into words how disgusted and horrified I am. This cake was meant to be served to a group of adults and young children at my three-year-old's birthday celebration. Finding a cockroach inside a sealed bakery box that came directly from a grocery store is beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, we discovered it approximately 10 minutes before the party was supposed to start. Instead of getting ready to celebrate my daughter, we had to scramble to Wegmans and purchase an entirely new birthday cake at the last minute. It added unnecessary stress, expense, and chaos to what should have been a happy and memorable moment for our family. A birthday cake is something you should be able to pick up, bring home, and serve to your family without having to inspect it for insects. Instead, what should have been a special part of my daughter's birthday turned into something absolutely revolting. This raises extremely serious concerns for me about cleanliness, food handling, storage, pest control, and overall sanitation within this bakery and store. After this experience, I cannot imagine purchasing another bakery item--or frankly, another food item--from this location. I have clear photos documenting exactly what we found, and I will absolutely be contacting ShopRite management about this. Upon entering I noticed right away that the store was fully staffed, no doubt to set a good impression during the first few weeks. I saw multiple people working in every isle and behind the deli counter. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The produce department is immaculately clean and well stocked. We needed several fresh veggies and fruits after having coming home from vacation and I really got to see just what was available and the condition of the produce. Very impressed. Other isles and departments were well stocked and prices at the deli were very good. Most of the other prices were comparable and some seemed a little high and others like a good value.
